My dog proof bait is a one gallon empty milk jug.Fill about half-way with dry cat food pellets.Pour a bit of salmon oil in.Put the cap back on the jug and shake it.A half gallon jug of good salmon oil lasts me about 2 years.I agree with saving money in this poor market.

Great video sir! Always looking for different food options as I run a 4-month contract (310 sets) from Mar-July with 170 DP's and the rest cages and connis. Since this is a significant amount of sets over a large area I cannot afford to let my bait spoil so Coon caps are used for the DP's (keep moisture and mice out) and 4-oz plastic ointment jars are used for the connis/cages and bait changed every so often. Question, does the catfish food pellets rot? I use a combination of cat/dog and corn food and some mixed with shellfish oil spray or Anise oil spray to add scent and lure.

Just a question on the math? 2 pints in a quart. So how did you go from 94 pints to 23.5 quarts? That would put it at 4 pints in a quart? Am I missing something...

I got a question.... how long , if you keep it in a cool place, out of freezing etc.... does this stuff keep? I don’t do a whole lot of trapping but mainly nuisance trapping on my time off work etc... just a ballpark figure...

Clint thanks for the great advise. I have a question about the fish pellets. I’ve used cat food in DP’s with ok results, do the fish pellets hold up better in the weather?
