Gloria Swanson, Mary Pickford, Lillian Gish, Betty Compton, Constance Bennett and Marion Davies were iconic 20s movie stars too
Women’s clothes in the late 20s and early 30s were so cool and sophisticated. That was my favorite era in fashion. The cloche hats with their IDGAF chic we’re FABulous.❤❤❤
I've started wearing 20 fashion in the 20s cause it's te 20s! LOL. + I hate today's clothes.
This is my comfort channel and the 20s is my favorite historical decade ❤
Awe thanks happy you enjoyed it
We are in the 20s again, so I am rocking 20s fashion as is my husband. It's so fun. Found some fantasy paranormal type books set in the 20s too whichI adore the vibe of.
Very informative. I never knew Clara liked to roller skate, or Joan favored knitting. It would be cool if you did a video of lesser known silent stars like Lucille Ricksen, who died in the 20's at 14. There are varied rumors her demise was caused from exhaustion from overwork, TB, or a botched abortion. Her mom died a few days prior to her passing away.
Should be titled “ what did Clara Bow do in the ‘20s.
I love these 20’s 30’s videos 😊
Thanks I’m working on a 30s one now
They spent a lot of time at Hearst Castle, San Simeon.
My all time decade of clothing, hats, makeup Art Deco!! I collect 1920s magazines, makeup, ect!!Thank you so much Beautiful Laura for this treat!!❤️
Just like in the 1920's to the 2020's life is good if your rich
Exactly what I think when I watch period pieces. They always portray courting and the lavish balls but I know damn well that was the 1%
Nice topic choice! I got excited when I saw this one posted 💕
Glad you enjoyed it
Clara Bow and Garbo were knockouts!
I knew Clara was called the It Girl and that they still call people that but I never knew why it was because of the movie being calling it. Clara was done dirty by the papers
Joan Crawford would have loved cellphones. She seemed to have anxiety.
Haha ya I can imagine Joan with an iPhone lol
Wow, never knew about some of these actresses! Very interesting! Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Love your videos! So much research and work goes into them and so educational!
Thank you!!
Love your videos Laura!!! Soo much fun and enjoy!!!
Just got my Established Titles package through your channel and am now officially Lady Clarice. Also great video!
Yay so cool! Now we both are ladies
I'm obsessed with mid century modern/retro anything and everything BUT I also love me anything from 1920-1950 as well. Is there anywhere we can go to see more of the things you collect/how your rooms are decorated/etc!? I just found your channel and am a new subscriber ❤
thank you for including Louise Brooks in your documentary as you can guess she is my favorite Movie Star, when Miss Brooks was on the screen all eyes were on her!
My favorite is 80-th era. Would be nice to see your review one day.
Hello how’re you doing?
I’m loving this series, Laura! So informative!
I know you focus a lot on the ladies but I would love love if you did a video on Rudolph Valentino
I might try to do a men’s one
There are a ton of videos about him already.
@@randomuser1105 okay but I would like to see her spin on it.. is that okay with?
@@randomuser1105 there is never enough!
Love this is the 1920s are my favorite decade.☺️
It’s such an interesting decade
Haha so true, I would mind going back in time for just a few days lol
And now I know more about Still & Garbo.
Now we know where you get ur love of history.
Haha ya it’s my dad
@@Laurajaneatelier Same with me Laura! I mean, Milady Laura...
Yay!so happy to see this in my feed I love your videos 💜thanks for uploading 😘
Thanks so much!!
@@Laurajaneatelier You're welcome 😊
Garbo actually insisted that Stiller be assigned to direct her second MGM film, the Temptress. The first 10 minutes are his before he clashed with the MGM executives and was replaced by Fred Niblo.
I didn't know anything about Clare Bow. Thank you. 😊
Thanks for watching
So interesting...love that era....thanks for the video
I learned so much! 💕
I love to learn about stuff like this fun video 🎉🎉❤❤❤
Louise brooks is my favourite of that time. She doesn’t have as many movies, though.
She’s so interesting!
Very interesting subject!! ☕🍸
Thank you
Laura, thx for the Lord and Lady advert. I know some people who would like this very much!

Bud Schulberg was said to be the model for the eponymous character in “What Makes Sammy Run,” which was a novelistic expose of the rapaciousness of the early Hollywood moguls.
Have you done anything on Lillian Gish?
I Love the 20’s so much. I hope they make a movie about Mary Pickford and her siblings one day! Griffin Gluck would be a perfect Jack Pickford.
And I guess Margot Robie would have to play (I mean she has to be in every movie put-out, now!) the tragic Olive Thomas Pickford?
Ok seriously what is with all these RUclipsrs promoting a lordship in Scotland? You’re like 5 or 6th RUclipsr I’m subscribed to that has had this promotion
Lol
Please feature about Constance Bennett. I hardly found info in RUclips about her despite fhe fact that she's one of the most glamorous star in hollywood.
And her beautiful sister Joan Bennett, a major film star known more today for her later work on horror-soap "Dark Shadows " Younger non-pro sister Mrs. Morton Downey Sr., married a famous "Irish Tenor " and were the parents of trash--tv pioneer Morton Downey Jr.
The IT girl actually meant
Sex appeal and magnetic personality.
Cambridge Dictionary:
Going 2 alot of parties and social events
You failed to mention Dame Mae Fishman.
PARTIES!!!!!!!! LOTS AND LOTS, OF PARTIES!!!!!!!!!!??
I was looking at pictures of Joan Crawford when she was very young (married to Fairbanks) and she WAS very glamorous. Not the typical Grace Kelly kind of beauty, but stunning nonetheless.
Also, regarding the entire “child abuser” question-
I really am on the fence about whether was an abuser. I think she came from abuse, so she might have been, but there is a lot of evidence to support that Christina’s stories were embellished.
Ya I’m on the fence with that too. Joan wasn’t Alive to defend herself
Probably a little of both.
Favorite Era Forever ~ "Camille" with Robert Taylor is quite heartbreaking ~ 💙 John Gilbert truly loved her but they were on & off the fence about choices ~ Just a mesmerizing lady ~
Louise Brooks had the doll face ~ she really made women jealous of her as men went crazy for her ~ 🎀
What about Dane May Fishman?
what is the footage of Berlin and Paris doing in this video about Hollywood stars?
If it wasn’t for the racism and sexism I’d hop into a 1920’s time travel machine any moment. Such a fabulous era
Where is Marlene Dietrich?
She moved to Hollywood in 1930
@@Howling_Ghosts you are right, 😊 I totally didn’t do the math.
I love your earrings
My husband and I are now Lord and Lady
As an avid knitter you can actually keep your needles from clicking if you really try, Joan obviously just didn’t want to. 😐
Damn. Greta Garbo was basically goals.
All backsound judge Thatcher up and helps him to keep me out of my property
Laura jane you are stunning
