The only guy who actually tested games that use more than 8gb memory load. And properly. I still don’t think the card will appeal to most but it shows the way aaa games are going and Dominic is right for a niche audience it gives some more future proofing if you only buy a gpu every 2-3 years or more. For 50 extra. Thanks Dominic. Can’t believe the comments here from a small audience. You are either in nvidias payroll ?? Or being too nice about this GPU (as gamersnexus didn’t like it and they can’t review gpus right anyway as the debate on Reddit shows). The big channels could learn a lot watching your test methods and non dramatic approach. Keep your attitude of going into every review and letting the facts speak for themselves and keeping your in-depth testing methodology. Bravo 🤘🏻
So many dumb comments. Dominic is on nvidias payroll. He is an amd shill. Right next to it. When the results don’t suit either group of fanboys that’s the kind of garbage they post. He is the only one preparing the reviews for the people who might be interested in the cards. Like people who want a solid 1080p but want to play high demand aaa titles. Everyone else missed the mark. And don’t get me started on gamersnexus. Their gpu reviews are terrible. Massive thread on Reddit about it.
Yep. It’s funny. ‘Why are your reviews a bit different from others Dominic ?’ Cause he tests them property. Channel subs doesn’t mean quality. Just ask pewdeepie or mrbeast.
thankyou so much for including averaged cost per frame, (though i prefer performance/price for "big number good" appeal) it seems very few reviewers do this. finding updated graphs with old cards makes it easier to make conclusions about price changes over time, because the reviews for the cards i care about are only on release day, with release pricing. 7600 was considered the worst because AMD weren't lowering the price on launch, and every review says its bad value and to wait, but no one makes a video saying "okay its good now, and here are the graphs" i have to wait for new cards and for them to remake the graphs with the old cards
If you are in the market for a great 1080p card at around £300. This seems like a sound buy. It’s certainly a bit more future proofed than the 8gb version. Dominic - appreciate you spent time finding games that utilise a lot of memory. That was very interesting.
the bad part is if it is already struggling at current games I cant imagine it will age as gracefully as the 6000s of amd cards since it does worse even with higher vram
anyone who are telling people extra vram is not worth for its price because of the fps not much difference are same as telling people higher watt psu are not worth for its price if you computer does not use 100 % of its power.
In my opinion the best futureproof 1080p bang for buck right now, 16gb vram WILL be the standards or at the least 12gb vram from the console game market.
It’s a pretty good looking card and I was surprised to see that 1080p could actually use so much memory. I play a lot of cyberpunk at 1080p. I will have to pay more attention to memory use.
Seems like a good card - especially as its what only £50 more than the 8gb version? You seemed to like it Dominic at the price. It gives good performance at 1080p, which is still the market for gamers I think based on STEAM reports.
Cracking job. That looks to be a thoroughly decent card. I appreciated you including the noise level - that's seriously impressive. I appreciate you have only so much time, but I would have liked to see you test at 4k medium settings for the more casual gamer, say someone with a 60 Hz Freesync 4k office monitor like the Lenovo L28 or a kid playing supervised on the family 4k TV. I found it interesting that the Intel A770 continues to perform competitively, though it sorely needs a price cut.
Thanks for your feedback I'm glad you found the review helpful and enjoyed the inclusion of the noise level. I'll definitely keep your suggestion in mind for future tests at 4k medium settings.
This card has the latest DisplayPort 2.1 port. Is it pointless on a cheaper card when no monitors have hit the market to use that feature. Insightful review nonetheless. Thanks all at Kitguru.
genuinely the first somewhat positive review about this card. Gamersnexus and hardware unboxed trashed it. For me, i think it's a useless card because with a 128Bit bus, that 16GB buffer won't benefit even 1080p Gamers.
Well to be fair as much as I love gamersnexus they need to update their suite of games. There has been a big discussion on this on Reddit. I think Dominic always tries to remain open minded and refrain from ‘drama’ however as this video shows there are some games that do use more than 8gb of memory already even if it’s unusual. The fact that this might give even some future proofing for aaa games shows it might be a cheap 50 ‘extra’ option for some users. I don’t even think Dominic was that positive about it - just raised the topic that it may have some merit for a niche audience. We have amd fanboys here accusing Dominic of being on Nvidias payroll. It’s a bizarre series of events around these launches. So many fanboys on either side making little sense to me.
You are right Dominic in todays market for around 300 this is a GPU bargain. Good testing and a lot of engines covered in this, good data. I might get one of these in a few months for my second system. at least there will be no memory issues for upcoming games at 1080p
hank you very much for the review. I have a MSI MECH Rx 6650 xt 8GB and over black Friday I got a Sapphire pulse Rx 6700 Xt 12GB for $310 that I still have in the box and was wondering if I should just return it and get the Rx 7600 xt 16 GB or if I should just return the 6700 xt and stick with the 6650 xt.......... I am still not sure what to do lol but this video helped me A LOT. Thank you very much.
Hi Dom thanks for the honest review, its what I see from my kids 7600 so that 16GB seems useful for certain games, but I dont think its worth upgrading for what my kid does.
100%, if you won't benefit from more than 8GB VRAM then there's no point to the 7600 XT - if your kids are playing palworld for instance, no need at all! but for the AAA audience, could be useful
@@KitGuruTech AMD have forward thinking, they are trying to increase memory count on their cards, and have supplied 16GB on a lot of cards when NVIDIA seem to need to catch up. At 1080p where this card shines, I guess for AAA games its a great idea. but at least its an option now. Bravo AMD.
@@geofftatesmate7748 Yeah I agree, this card scores well in dominics tests, seems a cracking 1080p card, if you can find 50 more in your wallet over the 8gb one. It would have been insane in the past to want a 16GB for 1080p gaming, but it is making more sense now. Cracking card from AMD
Watched this twice now Dominic, thanks. Overall I think its a good card, with some performance issues in RT (I cant see it going away so they need to do more here). the 16GB of memory for 1080p gaming in the past seemed ludicrous, but I know you went out of the way to find some games that will use it, thanks for that. Perhaps this is a good futureproofed 1080p card for the next 24 months when 8GB might cause issues for AAA titles. Indie games will never need that, but yeah, its surely a niche audience card. I like how AMD put a lot of memory on their cards however, Nvidia should really step up here, but AMD seems so far behind with RT that you wonder how they will ever catch up.
As someone looking to get a low high end or a high mid end card would you recommend this, regular rx 7600, or the RTX 4060? I play 1080p. While ultra settings are nice I don't mind having settings being a mix of medirum, high, and ultra. I might be able to scrape some extra cash for a better card but not sure if it's entirely worth it.
Some recent game demands more than 8GB vram even on lower settings. And the FPS dont tell the full picture because after you played for awhile, textures starts looking funny when the VRAM is fully occupied.😢
Dont be casually asking if we need a 16gb graphics card. WE NEED IT! We dont live forever. We need our time to get more important things done, rather than wait for load screens.
Thanks for the review. It would have been good to see the difference between the 4060 16GB as well to see which one does better with placing more vram on the same bus size.
There is no 4060 16GB, only the 4060Ti has a 16GB option, and the 4060 Ti is already a faster card and way more expensive than the 7600XT, so it wouldn't be much of a comparison.
Nice video, I just bought a second hand pc from cash converters was advertised as a Ryzen 5 5500 and a rx5600 … got it home the cpu was right the the gpu was a rx7600 to my suprise
i would say 'probably' is the answer to that, as it will be a good chunk faster - higher power draw and obviously less VRAM, but for 1080p ultra/1440p high setting it will be plenty
Unfortunately, more than rubbish... I was kind a hopeful but it turns out to be expensive and weak (in terms of performance). Not to mention "performance per watt" is disaster. Such a bummer 😓

Good card Dominic, seems like a great option at 300 mark. love how AMD have always been trying to increase memory count on cards, often when nvidia seem to be trying to catch up.
Well its not as bad as 4060ti 8GB vs 4060Ti 16GB and 40608GB vs 4060Ti models. If your going to pick the 4060 8gb then its better to get the 7600XT due to additional VRAM the performance are nearly the same as well. While the 4060Ti models are better in terms of performance its still overpriced even as of today. There is also a lil performance gain between 7600 & 7600XT but it heavily depends in game and resolution unlike the 4060Ti 8GB & 16GB that is has performance gain in going with 1440p resolution and only with games that uses more than 8GB VRAM if the game doesn't utilize 8GB VRAM then the performance is still the same which is why its freaking overprice.
Seems a good enough card but I quite like dlss with these level of cards. And while I don’t use rt much you always feel like you are missing out a bit n
