I love that you are open to using pre-packaged convenience foods just as much as making from-scratch foods. Its refreshing and honestly very relatable.
There definitely has to be a give and take in everything, if I want to be able to do this thing then sometimes I’m going to need this thing to make life easier heh
the reason i love social media is because I can meet awesome people, like yourself, on the other side of the world. You are very interesting to watch and listen to. Ive been thoroughly impressed at all you know and do..
Thank you! :D. It is the best part isn't it, being able to look into other peoples lives and appreciate and enjoy the differences! and sometimes things don't appeal and we don't watch, but its such a diverse place that there's always something for everyone to watch and learn and enjoy! :D
This was my first time watching one of your videos. We live in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, USA. That is a LOT of food you got in your food boxes. In our area, there is no cost for the food boxes, but the boxes are pretty small. There are usually about a half dozen canned foods, 1 frozen meat, usually ground beef or ground turkey, 1 quart of shelf stable milk, a bag of cereal, peanut butter, jelly, sometimes bread, and cookies. Then we also get to choose as much as we need or want of things such as assorted flour (whole wheat, rice, almond, white), assorted dry beans, dry peas, dry lentils, and sometimes assorted spices and salts. This is available 3 Fridays per month. In addition to that, the senior center in our little mountain town always keeps an abundance of foods for anyone in the community to take. Several times a year, they get lots of freezer meat such as sausages, chicken, salmon, perch, hot dogs, pork chops and it is free for anyone to take. For the past 2 months, there has been a mobile pantry coming here with beautiful fresh produce, baked goods, canned goods, etc - and most of the community turns out for this big event, even the town mayor. People are allowed to fill 2 large bags with whatever they want, and there is no cost. Many people here also live off grid, and everyone benefits from the food pantry and mobile food truck and senior center food bank. There are times when food trucks can't get up the snowy mountains to deliver groceries to the one little grocery store here, so these places to get free food are very much appreciated. I liked your video, and will watch again. I thought you might like to know how things are done in a different part of the world!!
I have seen some videos from other creators showing theirs, and I think that we have a fairly standard style Australia wide here whereas depending on the location you guys have some different types, I think its a wonderful service, no matter how it is provided!
How brilliant to get Temu to kit out the girls room. Can’t wait to see it all done! Personally I think you work hard enough to deserve a splurge on coffee cream!! Look at it as an investment in your mental health 😄 take care x
I'll still buy some things as well, but I will be able to do a bit more than I had planned with the extra stuff! :D. And I'm happy to show it off, because I would anyway :D
As always, a great video thanks Nyssa. I have said this before but I love the fact that you are not only loved by many Aussie people but followed by subscribers from as far afield as USA & UK. It is so lovely of that couple to provide the hampers at such a great price
YT is a weird beast! I have enjoyed watching everyones methods! And now that you have moved and are back to posting more often it'll be fun to see your growth too Challice! :D
Hi You are such an inspiration for many families. One of my daughter's has four sons &it has been interesting watching as they were growing up the shopping trolleys growing from one to eventually always being two! They are all in their thirties now married & working in very physical careers so family get togethers always look like we are feeding the local neighbourhood. Just keep doing what you are both doing you are both winners😊
What a wonderful service they provide, that is a lot of food for the price ❤ Good luck getting the framing done, it must be so exciting having all that extra space 🎉
Hi Nyssa, great hamper! I made the lemon chung. It tastes great, I have yet to try it on food, but a spoonful of it sure is yummy! That works right?? LOL! Have a great week!
Thank you for sharing those videos Nyssa you do a wonderful job and those in between hamper dose help out I'm sure and you always show how you use them for your family Thank you for that for sharing your life I do enjoy them GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ❤️
My children and grandchildren always ate a lot more between the ages of 9-11 than they ever did as teens. Our family tends to grow really early and stop at about the age of 14. I guess they eat more when they are growing rapidly.
My church has a very similar thing where you can get a pantry hamper the cost from my hamper is $10 and it is one cardboard box full are bread products pantry products any kinds of fruit and vegetables that they get sometimes they have almond milk soy milk in there. But you can order one once a week if you required so
Lovely that you will be able to deck out the girls rooms with assistance from Temu. The hampers really do give treats and extras for the kids. I’m not keen on those teas, but it’s great to get to try.
Great hamper video, I so love your rambling, it's like having coffee with a girl friend. As far as coffee creamer that is shelf stable, until opened, but stays liquid after, we use Kirkland almond milk. You just have to shake it before using it, because it separates.😊
I am not a fan of almond milk in coffee unfortunately! It would be much easier to access! Coconut is definitely our preference, just to be difficult lol
Boba or bubble tea is a choice I love milk teas but I don't like to chew my tea, so no boba for me. My daughter, on the other hand, loves the boba. I would rather brew some Thai tea, add some cream and sweetener and enjoy. We are all different and like different things.
D and I drink just black tea in general, no sugar, no milk etc, a teapot on my teapot warmer at night to drink while winding down hehe :D But I'm not a huge cold tea fan I don't think :D
@@OurSmallFootprint I drink both hot and cold. My current favorites are a very flavorful cinnamon black tea which I like hot and Thai tea which I drink cold.
@@annfromma8456 oooh, I like cinnamon. I have a few I’ve tried there was an espresso blend I liked but I tend to fall back on earl grey, D just likes plain black :)
My kids and I love bubble tea but I don’t like matcha flavor. I usually get a dairy free brown sugar flavored drink. We usually buy our bobas at a local shop. More and more specialty boba shops are opening and more restaurants serve boba now. We often get “extra boba” in our drinks and one drink costs about $7 CAD so it’s a bit of a treat!! We’ve never had a hot boba drink though and the shops here don’t sell them hot. Also - glad to hear your Patreon is starting out so well! ❤
I'm not sure why it had to be heated and then chilled, I just followed the directions lol. All the kids liked the pearls, so they might like an alternate flavour to the matcha too!
Love your videos I always knew when my boys were in a growing spurt. Took a lot of food feed them hollow legs. lol My oldest grew to be 6'4 and other 6'2 and my girl outgrew to be taller me-too 5'9. Outgrew there Dad too.

Apollo has OI (Brittle Bone disease) and he had a lot of breaks as a baby and apparently it can impact height, but boys always hit puberty that bit later than girls, we always joke about how Sonnet is younger than him but taller... for the moment! hehe :D
Naww, thank you, I try to remind myself that I buy specialty items for D and the kids at times too, so its not like I'm only treating myself hehe, but normal mum guilt I think!
I'm very fortunate to have 3 different food pantries to go to for free. Two of them are every 2 weeks and one is once/month. We get a lot of ground beef, chicken and fish (We don't eat fish at all so they usually give me 2 ground beef). I drink nothing but tea (hot or iced) but I don't care for boba tea. I saw in your video Vegemite. My late best friend was from England and she would go to a specialty store to get it here in the U.S. She raved about it so I tried it once and let's just say I will never eat it again....LOL.
It’s always worth far more than I pay, it’s just challenging sometimes using the stuff appropriately. There’s some stuff we just wouldn’t normally use and/or can’t, but there’s still plenty we do!
Would take a bit of the load off! :). I’m working on my scheduling of trying to have free access things for them that don’t require me to spend hands on time right then and there, but it still requires time at some point! Heh

I was wondering about the coconut cream in your coffee why you didn't use tins, or even coconut milk. You can get powdered coconut milk, not sure of the size etc. Not a bad hamper. That extra meat is great value. I think someone wanted to be in the video!
The problem is the emulsion of it, we have one of those whizzy sticks to help, but even with that, a lot of them separate and split, or go chunky. The powdered stuff works really well in our hot chocolate mix! but it just doesn't do the same as what we're after for hot coffee, its only the hot coffee its an issue with! My kids have always had good appetites! I'm used to making far more food than some people make for my size family but it just seems to have escalated lol!
Weet-bix(original) is my GOTO for starving teenagers. Plus home baked goods. Chicken and vegetables pies and salad sandwiches for after school. You can never fill them up. Have you ever tried the old fashioned caramel made with brown sugar. Egg. Flour. And milk.? I used to make healthy spring rolls baked in the oven also. Good video.
The kids aren't much fans of cereal other than at breakfast time, too spoiled I spose lol! We also tend to run out of rice milk before the end of each shopping cycle and they don't much like cereal with anything else, creatures of habit! They will eat granola with almond milk or yoghurt etc though, but we do mostly porridge in winter, but again, they don't tend to reach for it for any meal but breakfast, maybe I'll try suggesting it! I haven't tried the caramel, I'll have to have a google, I don't think I've ever made a caramel with flour! I have spring roll pastry in the freezer for this month, I just haven't got around to rolling them, normally I stuff them full of cabbage too and no cabbage this month!

@@OurSmallFootprint when I grocery shop I get things for everyone else, but my coffee ☕️ and creamers are my special treat!!!
My 13 and 6 year old eat more than a rugby team 😂😂
My kids have always had good appetites! I'm used to making far more food than some people make for my size family but it just seems to have escalated lol!
Strong healthy kids have strong healthy appetites 😊😊
I finally found an ignored child. Hard to see.
Hehe, yeah, just in that window there! reflection makes him hard to spot, I didn't know he was there until I was editing heh
