Strange that Harshit Rana & Prasidh Krishna are in India squad of 18, with no games played in Australia & don't feature in Ind A squad as well. But Nitish Reddy & Abhimanyu Easwaran are playing Ind A games and then will join the main team.
Considering the pace attack looks like Bumrah, Siraj & Akash Deep with Krishna & Rana; seems like they relying heavily on that one practice game between Ind vs Ind A in Perth before making final call.
Ideally I would have liked KL, Sarfaraz, Deep, Siraj & Sundar to play India A games against Aus A before joining the squad of 18

So keeping in mind that Rohit won't be there for the 1st Test (not sure if he'll continue to remain unavailable for the 2nd Test...) the best eleven for a Perth Deck will be:
1. Abhimanyu Easwaran
2. Y Jaiswal
3. Gill (tough bound to struggle if there is seam movement on offer)
4. Virat (vulnerable at this point of his career)
5. Pant (AUS will have worked out by now on plan to keep him quiet)
6. Sarfaraz/Rahul (both aren't permanent at this role, so another dubious call)
7. Washington Sundar (Tall ball who would enjoy the bounce and moreover, with the bat can have a decisive role)
8. Nitish Reddy - An obligation as you need someone to bat on number 8 on a seaming track, and as such Ash sits out.
9, 10, 11 - Siraj, Boom (Jasprit bumrah "Game changer bowler is he ~ DSP Siraj"), and Prasidh Krishna - I think they like him, he has shown promise, if he stays fits, he could be difficult on the Optus Stadium pitch in Perth)
So, overall a competitive 7/10 to the selection. India will compete with the ball BUT not sure if they will be able to score even 200 in both the innings...
If they manage to get 250-270 in both the innings they will have an opportunity to beat AUS by 30-60 runs or else, will lose the game by 6-7 wkts or by 100-120 runs
For the first time, I'm extremely happy with the team selection. They've selected bowlers according to category: seam dominant, hit-the-deck, left arm, bowler who can bat etc. Brilliant selection.
Which left arm are you talking about... there is no one in 18 member squad

Nope, they'll play only one of ashwin/jadeja. The most likely combination will be 3 seamers + 1 fast bowling all-rounder + jadeja/ashwin
@@Normalguy291 if you have a bowler with 500+ wickets in test cricket... you have to Play him.. doesn't matter if he is spinner or pacer
Any Indian explain me this.... How is Axar Patel not the First guy selected for the Indian team in every Format...after the T20 WC he had.... He looks like the most complete player in the Indian Circuit...he was backed for years in Test Cricket and now that he is Ready for every format, he is being dropped.
All out of form batters are going to Australia.. God help us
And a fantastic plan to remove Ruturaj from both T20 squad and Test squad by asking him to audition for test and not select him 😂good plan BTW by selectors

@@ayusharyan6127 in place of virat kohli it could've been anmolpreet singh / rajat patidar or devdutt padikkal in fast bowling allrounder one more could've been added Atit Sheth & in fast bowling team management should've selected atleast one left arm fast bowler arshdeep should've been selected in BGT rather than t20s, one other left arm pacer other than arshdeep is Arzan Nagwaswalla
