Finally someone put a helpful video on replacing baller belts. The other videos are stupid and don't help much. Your a good man and I appreciate this video. Happy baling
thanks for sharing your experiences of 6 years ago! You saved us a mess of time fixing belts on a 644. There is an easier way to release belt tension outlined in the manual but other than that, a good instructional video.
Good job sir. I have a Vermeer rebel that I'm about to change the belts on for the first time. This gave me some good ideas. Thanks for taking the time to do this demo. I also agree on the not washing. I also use high pressure air and the I wipe off the sides and top with a dry rag before I store it.
Showed this too my wife and said that John has a 4 wheeler to change his belts on his 644 correctly, thanks John I’ve got new belts and a 4 wheeler and good for another 10 years.
Wow!! That was a very detailed and educational video, full of old school tricks, and goodness. I could use advises from a grandpa like you, any day. thanks and God bless brother!!
Well I’m about to try this on a 648, we have the endless belts now but they are coming apart, figuring out how to pull the new ones through will be the tricky part but this video helps a lot on the process, thanks!
Wow! That’s a lot of extra work on the 644 vs my 664. Mine just has a bar that pulls out that takes all the tension off all the belts then they just attach new lace to old lace temporarily and thread new belt as you pull old belt out. Then thread the lace cable through the laces.
Good job, I learned several things that I needed for my job to work on a BR7060. Can you replace the splices in your old belts or just one belt instead of replacing all of them? I got one belt that was hanging on by 4 splice loops, started trying to put hooks back into the previous holes while still in the baler. That was hard to do so I pulled the belt out and it’s still on the back of the truck . The pins and hooks were much more worn than yours. Loops are completely open on a lot of the hooks and pins are about gone to.
You should be able to put a short splice in. You want all your belts to be the same length. Otherwise it will put too much tension on the one belt and just rip the hooks out again.
great video, i know how hard it is doing stuff on your own, and always good to find ways and tricks to do things like this.. im learning how to do things on my own,and learning to run my youtube channel
hi i have a new holland 650 and the rap system is jam does not come back it stays in rapping position and i cannot make it come back from the bale command
Apply 12 volts to the actuator, reverse the polarity to move the wrapper in or out .this will let you see whether it’s working the way it supposed to.Had an actuator break once before, 800 bucks for a remanufactured which is better than the one that came on the baler new.$50 core charge. BR7060 with about 7 or 8,000 bales on it now.
Hello Sir, interesting video! at how much PSI can/are you baling with this belt connectors? I live in the netherlands and they say here that those connectors Arent Strong Enough and that they Will brake. But I see much balers on youtube with this connectors. Sorry for bad english,
Yes. Unfortunately it's a long drawn out affair. It requires a special tool to hook on to the Hydro cylinder to add and subtract fluid. As bad as I hate to say it; you're better off letting the dealer do it. It's not worth the price of the special tool, to do it yourself.
@@WormHoleFarming I just did the procedure - It involved hooking up a hose from the Tractor to the special connector and exercising it a few times. which includes hyper extending it .I did however not move the auto-wrap arm out of the way and "knocked" it out of adjustment - but I have dense bales again! and by knocking out of adjustment I mean- I bent the pivot pin it rides on - not bad broke - but auto-wrap is not auto anymore. hopefully an easy fix.
@@WormHoleFarming sticks , tree limbs and pipes are hard on them. Depending on who is raking he gets off the tractor and moves that stuff. Some people leave it covered up in the wind row, probably so you won’t ask them to help you out anymore.

pro tip: watch movies at KaldroStream. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Nixon Uriel Yup, have been using KaldroStream for since november myself :)

That trick with the boards is genius! Great video!
He seems like a pretty neat guy
Thank ya, I try to be helpful.
Excellent advice. How many times have I said. You can't be TO rich, TO thin, or have TO many clamps! 😄 Enjoyed the video very much. Thanks!!

I'm still using square baler. I always wondered how you change the belts.Very interesting. Thanks for the video.
Great video !! I have a different baler but belt swap should be similar . Thank you for taking the time
You're welcome

Your Welcome and good luck.
Thank you for sharing this information. It most helpful.
Thank you for slowing it down, great video. Keep it up!

Yeah, it was a chore.
I just did a 654 new Holland and finally found the same rod and it's soooo much easier.
That was really helpful! Great ideas there. Thanks for sharing bud!
My dad taught me the trick with the C-clamp. He use to do maintenance work at a factory that had convener belts running all over the place.
Loved the video and I learned a lot from ur video...thanks for the help
Thanks for the help. Mine's a 450 but I will use your method.
Thank you, sir! Answered a couple of questions i had!
you are most welcome, glad I could help.
Very helpful! Thank you sir
I agree with not washing the baler we blow our 688 off with a air gun and we keep a jug of oil in the 4055. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge sir

Great video.... about how long did it take to change all of the belts out?
About an hour. Thanks for watching.
Is there steel rod or cables in the splices?
Looks like it's a braided cable covered in plastic.
Good video reckon this is close to same procedure for New Holland 688?
Should be. My neighbor's got a 688; and his slip-clutch is a bit bigger. Outside of that, the chains run the same..
hi i have a new holland 650 and the rap system is jam does not come back it stays in rapping position and i cannot make it come back from the bale command
I don't understand you problem. Are the string arms tripped and staying in the middle of the bale?

@@kiddinbarton9277 thanks ! super advice ! i found out that it was not receiving power .
How do the diamond top belts compare to the original mini rough top. Do you find the baler starts bales better?
I put the same style that it had on it. I can tell that the bales start quicker and I have less "Plug-up" when starting a new bale. Hope that helps.

Sorry for bad english,
Well I'm not sure about the PSI, but you can roll a bale so tight that you can't stick a spear in it to pick it up.
@@WormHoleFarming thanks for your reaction
@@WormHoleFarming it won’t unroll easily either especially if it’s a little moist when baled.
do you know how to add fluid to the bale tensioner hydraulic piston?

The manual with the baler explains it, not hard and the hydraulic fitting is a air chuck fitting
Thank you
what was wrong with old belt?
They had bad (thin, wore) spots in them
