The press is the ticket!! We had the entire tool for the conveyor belts because we did so many at the plant. We put RTV across the splice and it seemed to help. Thanks!!!

We had a Massey hardcore baler from the early eighties when I was a kid. Watched dad fix many belts, then as I got older, I fixed many belts on it too. Hated straw and hay that was too dry, tough or light. I don’t miss that closed throat design. We went to softcores and I hardly fixed a belt for 20 years. Lol. Had to fix a few on that jd hardcore we had recently. It hated straw too. Hopefully this new Vermeer is good for awhile. 👍🍻

    Morning to you👍🏻
My NH BR 740A was rebelted when I bought it. With JD belts. The old man who made the job, showed me the different between a JD from a NH belt. Trust me! I will never put NH belts in my mashine.
Have a nice day BP &CP

Ya I've got half the belts in mine swapped for a more aggressive belt as I'm sure you noticed

@@bcpfarmandtrucking6560 We do a lot of silage. So we need the aggressiv ones in wet crops. The splises he use is even more heavy duty with a knobby pin. Not just a coated wire

@heabyk8453 are you using twine or net wrap...I've seen a few vids and guys were using twine because the net would catch in the lace

Good morning BP and CP. Good informative video. I know its cost and time, would it be worth having a few belts made up ready to go in the tractor. 👍

Yeah when we had the BR780a the local place used a roller crimper for those laces and it never bedded the laces properly thats why i went to Gator, they work fine on heavy 3 ply but best on thicker stuff

Gator laces are the way to go, you would hardly ever have one tare out! How come you are not suppose to use them on them belts!? To think of belts or belts but strong enough to hold them in?
