I love mine. I think its the most fun of the Habu line. Its the only true 3S performer EDF. You can really have fun in a tight space. Its true, and quite funny that the thrust reverse is quite docile, and the plane remains stable. The 70mm's full reverse is extremely effective. I left the wheels on my 50mm, and its really helped my landing game across all models.
That thing has a howl to it !!! Can't wait to put mine together. When I first started flying I thought I'd be satisfied with only one plane now it's in the 20s plus a few waiting to be put together lol .
1000% I was surprised. It's been the ONLY good thing to come from Covid for me...we started wearing gloves everywhere for my day job, where I used to use reusable cotton gloves, which got laundered after each use. It was a pain, and they were not getting clean, but they breathed way better, and I did look like a wanna-be Michael Jackson - LOL ;)
We did that off camera - I'm very sorry! All you have to do is split the "Y" Cable at the Rx, and pick the available port, then change wing type, and you'll see, it's not too hard. I apologize for not sharing this. I did it with my son, and didn't bother to cover it, in my haste.
@BrianPhillipsRC Well, I did try it. I got everything working but safe, only working on one side. You do make it sound easy, but Sir, it not that easy, but I'm not giving up. Thanks. Hopefully, you will be able to show it in a video. Thanks again, Sir.
I have a dx6e and maybe I want to buy a nx transmitter because you can activate thrust reverse. Should I buy a nx8 or a nx10. I plan to fly airplanes that have flaps and retracts (and safe).
Hi Brian, always love your videos. I'd like to suggest testing more non eflite/hh products - hh/eflite planes are too expensive so myself (and I guess other folks too) are interested in other products, more affordable than HH's.
You should do a review of the XK A170 Boeing 787. I think it has potential to be a pretty cool airliner with better landing gear and maybe some flaps. The edf’s are pretty impressive.
Just bought a Viper 70mm from my hobby shop. I thought I should get it because it's out of stock until October and I have a T-28 1.1 and Mustang 1.2. I hope it goes well. I wanted a bigger jet that I can grow into rather than grow out of.
So I’ve been flying for a while now. Larger war birds with flaps and retracts and want to dive into the rabbit hole a little deeper and try my hand at EDF. Would you recommend this or the viper 70m.
Hi. I Recently bought one aeroscout S2 RTF with an included DXS. I would like to get one more plane (preferrable in BNF) but since I don t want to spend more than 300 euros I thought I could use the DXS for other planes. From what I know, binding it to other models would require programming and tuning, which is pretty complicated from my point of view. I talked to some HPI racing professionals about this and they told me that all rc planes from horizon (with 6-7 channels) should work just fine only by inserting the battery and turning on the TX. Ideally, I would get a Habu SS 50mm but I am worried I will mess up the controls between the models so a umx timber would be also perfect. Please tell me if that is possible without any out-of-the-box tuning. Thank you in advance.
The 70 SS is not a great 1st EDF, but the STS is. The 50 is very easy to fly, and the batteries are very inexpensive. The 70mm uses 6S batteries which can be quite pricey. The 50 is very easy to land compared to the 70SS.
I bought a 2200 50c smart pack for this plane. Was wondering if you have flown it with the same pack and if you notice any benefits to having a 50c in there
The 50C rating will be almost un-noticable in boos to performance, since there isn't enough draw on this size circuit, in my opinion, but you're still getting the longevity that comes with the higher quality 50C (vs 30C) pack. Where you'll notice a big difference, is then you're using this pack in a plane where you really push the limits and might puff a similar 30C pack. Admittedly, it's not a HUGE difference, and I'd be surprised if you can see or "feel" any difference.
At about the 3 minute mark, did your ESC cut the motor off or did you do that? My Habu 50's motor has cut off briefly at the beginning of flights when the battery is fully charged. I'm flying on 3S 2200 30C and I was wondering if yours did the same.
I think sometimes when the SMART pack sags a bit (before the chip can re-balance the cells), they will error into a pre-LVC situation, but I honestly can't remember, and I usually call that stuff out when I see it, so maybe I was doing it???
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks! I tried to replicate my issue today and it didn't do it. I was also 20 degrees warmer at the time so that could be the culprit too.
F15 is similar, but doesn't slow down as much. F15 looks better, but ROLLS weird...even after you bend the mains forward to get them closer to the CG. The Habu is just "easy" for being a fun starter EDF, and in the 50mm size, I just think it's super practical, but would admittedly like to see flaps, led's, and retracts. (same is true of the F-15 - LOL ) bprc.me/F15 vs bprc.me/Habu
You need to go into FORWARD PROGRAMMING, and turn it ON, then make an Assignment to a Switch (if there's a switch you have in mind, that's NOT already assigned to a channel, do that in System Setup - Channel Assign, then go back into Forward Programming in the Function List) It is SUPER easy. If you still can't figure it out, re-watch the Unbox, Build, Radio Setup for this plane (We do one for every plane we do, fyi)
Hey man. Would love to support you. I’ve tried ordering from your links. Not interested in removing our internet security to allow Google and RUclips and Facebook to track me and my family though. If you have a safe link please share and we’ll order from it. Thanks and love ur vids

Very good edf primer👍
Camera crew doesn’t even flinch with those close fly-bys. 😉
All the way at the bottom of the Habu page I found that it has a 700mm wingspan. Thx Pilot Brian and crew.
I haven't tried this one but for beginners I think the big red's advantage is its size. Easier to spot in the sky. But this channel is fantastic
Penguin tutorial done right unlike when I accidentally penguin slide my rc planes in the simulator. Great plane great advice!#stayepic
Nice flying Brian 👍🏻
Thanks Erric ;)
Thanks for sharing your flights Brian.
Never seen a stol with a EDF jet, that is so Nice ! I will check for ! 👍✈️
I use nitrile gloves when it's cold. It's surprising how well they work.

Still havent tried Pilot Fatigue while in mid air. FlightSim was my go to practice landing.😛
Thank you for your very helpful and practical work.
You're welcome, and thanks for being here with us!
Great review again. Mines still in the box. I need your basement. I wish my work had nitro gloves, I get the cheap blue medical gloves. Lol.
Really like your channel!❤

Once you go Horizon Zombie, you'll never go back. It's called existential.
Quality review, Brian!
cool jet and great flight

I want to do it, especially with those LONG and AMAZING gear bogeys - LOL ;)
😂 The landing gear are pretty comical. I trimmed about an inch off the front one, it helped a little with the looks of it.
I haven't seen anybody upgrading these. Ive had mine for about a year now and would like to some more speed out of it...

Can you bind this to the aeroscout transmitter ? The dxe?

How’s this compare to the eflite f15? Great Video🎉

Would a 3200 3s G2 pack work?
I don't know if you would want it so heavy, but give her a shot, and see if you can get CG to work out.
I have the Habu ss 50mm. I can't get it to switch from safe to AS3X. I did a reminder still no AS3X. Please help me if you can.

What does this jet weigh? Thanks just trying to find a sub250g edf
Sub 250g is tough in EDF world, in our experience. You could put a bunch of helium filled balloons on it ;) LOL
@BrianPhillipsRC yeah I know man 😫 my arrows pioneer is sub250g and I heard that xk p51 mustang is too but I want a edf 😋
How do I program reverse
Check out the UNBOX, BUILD, RADIO SETUP video for this info, or if in doubt, check out the playlist for a particular plane.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Plus can I do this on the used dx6 I have
This can run on 4S too
I haven't done it.

super 😄👍🇨🇭
Nx8 vs TX16S hmm
