Great video! I've been holding off replacing my 2017 iMac Pro (with a powerful eGPU) until I could get an M3 Max Studio. We all know that never materialized. Now we're waiting for an M4 Max Studio... I like to buy the top-of-the-line product and keep it for as long as it's supported. Although I don't want or need a laptop (I need a desktop!,) the M4 Max MBP may be what I end up getting. After seeing the benchmarks, my decision is made. M4 Max it is. The only question now is buy the MBP now or wait to see what happens with the M4 Max Studio sometime next year…

I have the M1 MacBook Pro with 32 GB RAM and debating whether to upgrade with the M4 coming out. Mainly because in Lightroom the develop mode going through a lot of photos from an event would lag going to the next photo. But with Lightroom’s latest update, I opened up a previous album and it looks like the issue is no longer there. I also only have a 1TB drive and was looking to get at least a 2TB and more RAM. But I might hold off if processing in Lightroom is improved with their latest update.

could i ask if you think I should upgrade from M1 Pro MacBook Pro with 16 GB ram? I would like to mainly upgrade for that additional ram, better battery and just a general speed boost, I currently have 85% battery health.

Same for me, I have the M1 Max 32 ram and 1TB. I’ve been creating courses and create YT content and the 1TB has been a bottle neck. I decided to upgrade this year and future proof better with the M4 Max 64 ram and 4TB. I figure this will last at least 5 years till the M9-M10

@@jeffreydalrymple4491 How hard is it to carry around an SSD external drive? 1TB should be more than enough for apps and important data storage. Anything requiring storing very large video files you should have a dock for the laptop and/or carry around external storage. (or not even buy the laptop and be using the Mac Mini, Studio, or Mac Pro). Can even add a piece of velcro to the lid of your MacBook to hold the drive.
The MBP is really meant for on the go work and is not really a workstation unless you build a dock like I said. Though I'd still just recommend a Mac desktop and monitor.

@@wushdishmeen editing videos especially a high volume can turn into a TB quickly in Final Cut Pro alone. I know my workflow better than you would understand. We all know our own workflows and what will work best so I wouldn’t be telling people what to do and what configs to get.

@ doesn’t matter. Waste your money if you want but you are perpetuating Apple’s ridiculous storage tax for minor convenience and at your own detriment. Beyond 1TB is silly. Using your main drive as a scratch disk is not smart for Final Cut. Just lessening the life of the machine, so yes I can recommend this.

I thought they would have introduced OLED since they advertised the m4 specifically for tandem OLED with the iPad Pro. I’m content with my M1 but OLED would be tempting

I’m still a little confused on the 1,000
nits of brightness for SDR content because on apple’s website it specifically says (when outdoors) so not sure if we’ll see the benefit of that brighter display in most circumstances

Is WiFi 7 implemented or still WiFi 6e?

Wi-Fi 6E on the Macs this year. No Wi-Fi 7 from Apple yet.

I wouldn't exactly call it jumping in when it takes you three minutes to start talking about it
