The second mega flare does do increased damage, you just managed to have your magic defense raised higher for it. That's why it did about the same damage.
Thanks for the video. I just pulled it off with cloud having a water build using seasplitter++ and him using sanctuary+. Aerith was there pretty much just as a healer with a defaith and Tifa using tiger fang, bah knuckles, barrier and debrave.

Finally managed to kill him during his 2 megaflare i just dps like crazy so i managed to get him low enough before burn phase started and he died even before reaching 1.
Amazing run! I won't be able to clear any of these for a long time but that's okay. I have a question though do you know how many memories are needed to fully cap out megaflare? I plan on farming the coop for all the memories I need and then eventually when I can complete these fights I'll be set to level up megaflare. Thanks!
Haven't done a side by side yet but in the beginning of the video I showed my Bahamut lvl 4 for hitting shiva for a huge amount on a 2900 MATK Sephiroth.

Your video was a total game changer! I kind of had a handicap because I do not have Tifa and Matt leveled up nearly enough to get into this fight and it would take too long. So I ended up using sephiroth as my main dps, aerith as a Healer / support, and red 13 as support. It was kind of tricky as only two of the characters could take hits physically so I would have to restart the fight many times if it hits sephi had low physical defense. I had no access to the diamond Rune Breakers so it took some luck to get this right. I had to rely on Bahamut hitting red who is my tank to survive the umbral frenzy strikes. But definitely followed your video as much as I could and it helped so much finally was able to beat him today after about 40 tries LOL. For those wondering my sephiroth has Max boosted ob 10 edged wings for ice damage And over boost 6 kuja's blade. Aerith had fairy tale max boosted for heals and unbrella OB4. For red xiii I used the sleek collar for magic defense up on all and the collar that decreses magic defense in bahamut to make Sephi and everyone else hit harder.

@@Darth_Selendis Sigh ok fair enough I could have worded that a bit better I'm not saying the event is impossible without them you can always whale/dolphin or get crazy luckily on the pulls or have a strange wishlist but the event is clearly designed around non elemental damage it's by far the worst damage type in the game and is responsible for a string of horrible event's focused around it including the worse ranking event the game has made. If there had been good non limited non elemental dps weapons to roll on then it would be fine but unless have been wish listing some strange stuff then good luck. Again it's not impossible it's just rubbish design no one would make this event the way it's is other than to signaling to player that pushing on limited weapons is the way to go.
@@scarletmoon777I agree that the non elemental damage is bs, FFIX colab was stupidly hard because of it, but honestly the HSC wasn’t as bad (I was top 40 using ruin materias to attack, not a single non elemental damage focused weapon was used) and Bahamut is not an event, it’s permanent… They don’t want you to have the shiniest limited weapon to clear it, they’re only giving players some options if said players want to rush and clear it asap.
Fantastic video, great analysis, as always. Currently stopped at EX2 but as, for now, Bahamut literally isn't required at any content and is perennial, I am not in a hurry. I still need to first complete all the available nodes for him to be useful anyway. Also, leveling people to 65 takes priority over EX2.
Did you farm Hard or Very Hard Bahamut to get the knuckles to OB9? I've farmed hard for a while and have only gotten 1 gold weapon drop for Matt. Those Knuckles are the last thing I need to kinda replicate this setup because that sigil phase is what's holding me back right now
i also farmed on hard mode auto lol . . got my knuckles and the sword both to ob10 at the same time . but i went thru like almost all the pots i saved up
Tried very hard twice and got one shot (didnt have a magic def boost to counteract its magic defense down) I think ill sleep on it until I either build my could with the bandaged sword i do have or they release something similar for someone I do have built. (my only other cloud weapon I have dupes on is the buster sword so waiting will also help me OB that up for his primary weapon.) (they will also likely release a weapon(s) similar to the FF9 ones during the coop event for this, whenever that occurs)
im waiting a few days before i try ex 1 so i can get more stats onto my red 13 , since hes the only one i have with aoe magic barrier . i have a copy of aeriths mythril rod as well so i think i have a decent set up , just need some time to get goin. i dont watch anyones fight until i already beat it lol , just here to say hello :3
Been trying this for a while with Tifa healer with bahamut gloves, cloud with bandaged sword and Sephiroth with Kujas, I can never get past first megaflare because cast time of 3rd kujas and bandaged sword doesnt seem to go off in time, they're both fractionally not completing. Am I missing something? :(
Good tips! But how on earth did you manage to get Zidane/Amarant weapons to OB6 without using money? I could only manage OB3 even though I used probably 40000+ crystals for this banner. Maybe you could get Cloud weapon pieces in large numbers at the beginning when the game just launched? Thank you!
Solid clear. It’ll be cool to see how long it takes your no OB account to be able to clear it. I imagine you might need to wait for level 70 or 75 level cap increase , but I won’t be surprised if you somehow pull it off sooner.
I finally got this done yesterday with like 1 second before he wiped my team with Megaflare. I did Kujaroth w/ nameless, Zidane cloud, and Sunbrella Aerith. I was able to get the sigil broken thanks to nameless and manual each member to use their materia.

I did it with level 60 Matt, it's possible just gotta work the right substats from sub weapons and materia stats but you got this and again there is no rush!

I farm very hard and don’t get sh!t.
I farmed only hard mode the entire time. You should be fine just using the 1 copy but the more you have the higher all your stats.

Play this game from day 1, do a more then 2000 materia and not get even one 5 stars materia.

He dropped like 70,000 blue crystals on the banner. He had been saving up for quite a while.

What can I use in place of the bahamut gauntlet while I'm farming the weapon on tifa
I used killer hornet on matt, you can also use Lucia, glenn or Barret weapon too.

You can do Sephiroth main DPS or Run Matt with Sigil break and cloud with Bandage sword for Mdef.
