    Thanks for checking this up for us. Of course I will believe it when I see it as I am going in October and have a DSLR and quality lenses.

      My pleasure! Of course, with anything Egypt, it’s vague what this will actually mean on the ground, so I’d love to hear about your experiences in October! I’ll be in Egypt next November-December.

      Hi Marc! Just wondering how you did this October. I plan to fly to Egypt and am wondering if I can bring my mirrorless camera.

  • @rhyssgarvida9165

    Thanks so much for this info! I have been scouring the internet and all have been vague until now. To summarize, it seems I can bring a DSLR (Canon EOS 90D), at most 2x lenses, a gopro, and a small/large tripod. I was wondering if you happen to know if bringing a recreational laptop, work laptop, and a portable monitor would add to the "suspicion" from customs or any other authority figure? All are for personal use, but I will be working remotely in Europe for 4 months and taking a 2 week vacation in Egypt and Jordan. So, I would need to have all items listed in a carry on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

      Hi there--that sounds like a lot of electronics and equipment to be bringing into Egypt; I would be wary of bringing that many things over. If you are unable to limit what you bring, then you will have no choice but to bring it and hope you do not face issues at the airport. Best of luck!

    Thanks for the informative video. Does this mean that my DSLR can now pass through customs? How does one purchase a "permit" and how much does it cost? I am just shooting for personal use only though

    • @EgyptAdventuresTravel
      @EgyptAdventuresTravel  2 года назад +2

      If you’re shooting for personal use only, then you should be fine! I’d recommend only taking your camera and 1-2 lenses.
      You won’t need a permit for personal use, but if someone needs one for commercial use, the Egyptian consulate would be the place to ask.
      Let me know if you have any other questions or need anything else for your trip! I can even send you an example of a custom itinerary I made. You can email me at egyptadventurestravel@gmail.com

    Thanks for the information. I'm wondering if DSLR is allowed on Luxor balloon ride?

    • @EgyptAdventuresTravel
      @EgyptAdventuresTravel  Год назад +1

      You would want to ask your specific hot air balloon company, as policies differ from company to company. I do not remember anyone with a DSLR on the hot air balloon I was on, but that does not mean they were not allowed? So, best bet--ask the company you are going with :)

    This is a great help thanks mate. Im coming to Egypt (Cairo) soon and im looking to take my DLSR along with a 200mm. What is your experience in going through customs with cameras Ect, and what would be the best way for me to pack and prepare for customs at Cairo. Great Video thanks louis

    • @EgyptAdventuresTravel
      @EgyptAdventuresTravel  2 года назад

      I’ve been through customs with a DSLR (just one lens though), and just had it in my carryon and had no issues. I’d recommend keeping it in your carryon and only taking it out in the airport if you are asked if you have a camera. With this new announcement, as long as you aren’t in Egypt for commercial filming purposes, you’ll be fine. Let us know how it goes!

    Thank you for this update. It's very helpful. This updated regulation is a good thing but as always, the issue is enforcement of these relaxed laws. My next visit to Egypt will hopefully be better because these relaxed regulations...I would like to reunite with the friends I made in Cairo and Luxor.

    • @EgyptAdventuresTravel
      @EgyptAdventuresTravel  2 года назад

      Yes, totally agreed to what you said-the issue is enforcement. When you go back, let me know what your experience is like taking photos and videos! Hope you get to see your friends in Cairo and Luxor soon!

    Thank you for sharing. Really precise and useful. Most if those caveats are common sense. Try taking pictures of military, police or heavily guarded building in Europe. Just try a shopping mall... And whether youtubers or influencers are professionals, just look on YT at the debate around the new US national parks service requiring a professional permit for youtubers... So overall pretty much as anywhere else.

    • @EgyptAdventuresTravel
      @EgyptAdventuresTravel  Год назад +1

      Yes, I agree--a lot of these are common sense. People sometimes travel and do not think about the same things they would think about when traveling in other places or in their home country, so it's good to have a reminder.
      Interesting, I will need to look that up! The whole RUclipsr (someone who gets all of their income from RUclips but claims to not be doing "professional videography") issue is very interesting.

      Hi
      Just the outside of the pyramids , a vlog that I watched recently said that security before entering the pyramid complex won't allow you to bring your DSLR camera . Not sure how true it is .

    • @EgyptAdventuresTravel
      @EgyptAdventuresTravel  2 года назад +1

      I think you’ll be ok, considering this new announcement. And if you can’t bring it in, they’ll usually let you store it with a guard.

    Hey man . I’m planning on visiting Egypt next year maybe .
    And I was wondering… is the “Insta360 go 2 “ camera allowed in Egypt? Or is it gonna be confiscated at the airport because it’s very small and they might consider it a spy cam ?
    Thank you

    I have an idea to surprise my close friends with a video where I'm like,"Hey guys I think I'm lost" and then I'll have my guide pull back with my phone revealing the pyramids behind me. Then I wanna do the Pulp Fiction Travolta scene that's a popular gif, where I'm looking left to right all confused. Maybe I'll do this at panoramic point. Do you think I'll have any issue with this if I'm doing it in one or two takes? I know it's a random question lol, but it's the closest thing I'll be doing to what a Vlogger does. The rest of my trip will be pics and vids just like most tourists.

    • @EgyptAdventuresTravel
      @EgyptAdventuresTravel  2 года назад +1

      I think you should be able to do that! My only concerns would be the audio quality and the possibility of other tourists being in the background. Sounds like fun! If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot me an email and we can set up a consultation!
