Cash is a guarantor of freedom. When currency is electronic, and we cannot remove our currency, the govt. can, at any time, set confiscatory negative interest rates.
Going cashless is basically giving an F U to poor people. Small business owners have to give CC companies a cut of their profit. I'm not against CC but paying cash should always be an option.
it has lots of advantages to fight crime, no more burglaries, as the thieves could not sell the spoils, tax evasion and drug dealing and fraud will be wiped out, but our transactions will need to be protected like our health records are, and banks would need more regulation to make sure all transactions are genuine
The bankers are the biggest criminals in this world as they’ve been playing the biggest Ponzi Scheme ever since they implemented fractional banking. The government is the biggest mafia that ever was and all they care about is power. The corporatists are the biggest slave owners in world’s history and they’re in tight partnership with the bankers and the government. We the faceless masses are the brainwashed stupid sheeple who love our servitude and slavery. Let the hunger games begin !
This whole bunch has missed the real point of this debate: Information and who controls it! The BANKS and Governments want EVERYTHING. Don't give it to them.
Cash activates the pain centres of the brain research has shown. We feel the pain when we buy something in cash. When it's debit card it's proven we spend more. We just wave our card like Harry potter with his magic wand
Negative Interest. Paying banks for every transaction. It all equals more money for banks. When the point comes that the people are over it they have NO recourse.
I will use cash as Long as I can and as much as I can. I will not support any business that doesn't accept cash I went back to mostly using cash in 2018 . And do 99 out of all my transactions in cash.
Wheeling and dealing will be outlawed , market traders won't be keen . Cash is King . I was told 35 years ago , we are working towards when no one will carry cash .
There are no benefits unless someone is just too lazy to count. Cash is wonderful -- a mutually agreed upon trading medium that is easy to carry, not heavy or bulky, and -- of course -- anonymous. *I'm sure governments and some businesses would much rather they could know all your daily habits with a touch of a button, but for those of us who actually want to maintain or privacy and don't have a problem making change cash is easier and gives peace of mind.* Also frankly I don't even have or want a smartphone so good luck getting me to use cashless...
@@richardmadden8742 In the UK we can wipe down our plastic notes and I can wash the coins. I do not know why people do not want to use cash. Apparently, the plastic notes could even be placed in a washing machine and give them a good wash. That is what we have been told! I will not do this to my notes. I just wipe them down on both sides with anti-sceptic wipes which kills 99.9% of germs.
@Brexit Monger In respect to drugs and petty crime it would be a good thing. But struggling people like some window cleaners, taxi drivers, waiters would never be able to pocket the little bits of cash that sometimes keep their heads above water. I certainly would not like the government to know every penny I've got, and how to get at it.

What?! Rachel Johnson is so out of touch. She begged for a few francs?!! Was it a time a machine she travelled in? Why didn't just go to the Royal Court and ask for some cake?
I was able to buy a laptop by putting monthly little bit if money wich otherwise will be taxed and i should have had a credit for a laptop wich i didnt want, its simply a matter of control for them going cashless.
Somebody should explain to Rachel Johnson that France has adopted the Euro, and Francs are not anymore in circulation since 17 of February 2002....🙄. If this is the smart sister, beware the brother 😂😂😂. I wonder what she fed to her poor little daughter 😳

Cashless society is dangerous to us all.
The fact that these that many are happy to sleepwalk into a system of control, is quite alarming.
Totally agree

@@debeeriz I respectfully disagree because burglaries would simply happen in the form of hacking
If we go cashless...the banks or government at any time can stop us accessing funds
@anonymous patriot the government already does, it's called V.A.T.

OnTheWay Insurance is also a Ponzi scheme.
I don't want a cashless society because it is one of the steps to implementing worldwide technocracy.
mobile phones will be replaced with implantable tech,
dominos already started

China’s social credit system. It’s on RUclips. Also negative interest rates.

Try opening a bank account, pity the 1.3 million in the UK without accounts and other countries for that matter.
I like real money. Going cashless is easy for people to steal money from one's bank account.
Me too, I seem to be cash only now haha.

Surely it would screw up drug dealers if there was no cash.
