We zoom in to a 32% Waxing Crescent to try and resolve the moon landing!
No, I am just kidding. The Moon landing would require a much larger telescope.
    Here's my source: www.discovermagazine.com/the-...
But we DO see lots of beautiful, detailed craters peppered all over our nearest celestial neighbor!
By the way, can you double check my math?
The smallest thing we can resolve in our telescope is 0.46 in seconds of arc. The Moon is 3,474.8 km in diameter. The Moon is also 1872 arc seconds wide (give or take depending on how close to Earth it is during it's elliptical orbit). So if we divide the Moon's diameter by it's size in arc seconds, this should give us a rough estimate on how large a feature on the Moon is if say, it's appears as 1 arc second through our telescope. 1 arc second on the Moon should equal 1.856 km. Since our telescope can resolve up to 0.46 arc seconds, we should be able to zoom in to features as small as 850 meters (1.856 * 0.46) in diameter on the Surface of the Moon. For reference, the lunar lander is 4.3 meters in diameter. How did I do?
    Clear skies!!

wow you’re from near Seattle where all those legendary bands are from. yes sir, i have also witnessed clouds at night being illuminated. you’re not crazy. you’re not “ seeing things”. .. yes it is a bit “weird” . i have a theory .

Yes and I was raised in the LA area lol. I’ll go first. My favorite talent to come out of Seattle is Jimi Hendrix. You?
And heck yeah it was our first time seeing those kinds of clouds! Now I recognize them right away during our long summer sunsets.
Here is a link I found describing their cause: www.space.com/noctilucent-clouds
