Issues with installing TYPHOON H firmware 3.0? Here's the solution.

    One thing I have observed is a lot of users have trouble updating the ST16 due to the SD card not being formatted correctly and therefore not being recognised when inserted in the ST16. Often formatting on a PC or Mac even to the correct exfat format does not always work.
    The solution however is very simple and works first time.
    On the ST16 on the top right corner of the screen there will be a small micro-sd card icon with an exclamation mark on it.
    -Swipe down from the top of the screen
    -Now a menu related to the micro sd card opens up, this states that the card is not recognised due to it not being correctly formatted - The menu offers a reformat option.
    - Reformat the card from here.
    -Thats it...copy the ST16 firmware onto it again and it will be recognised when trying the update..

      AFAICT the ST16 does NOT recognize exFAT file system. Yes, the CGO3+ camera does but the Tx does not. Go figure! Pretty sure this is an Android limitation as the ST16 does not like any microSD cards bigger than 64GB, even if formatted previously on your computer as FAT32. The Tx also seems to be extremely picky on the QUALITY of the card.

    You have just saved me from returning my Typhoon H back to Perry, As I had this happen to me yesterday and had arranged to have it picked up. I am up stairs as it is sleep time SO will follow your instructions to the letter in the morning and will post the outcome on here. Again Thank you......

    Today my ST16 flight controller (for the Typhoon Plus) just kept on crashing with message of some Android core process that stopped working. The screen just keeps flashing with the Yuneec Flightmode 2.0 (UAV app) start screen. There's no way I can access the controller or the android system on it, neither can I access the internal storage when connecting USB cable to the ST16 and my computer. How can this be fixed?

    Last week my ST16 somehow mixed K2 on the throttle channel.
    My only symptom was if failed to start normally.
    Later while testing, it armed, took off and hovered by itself. The throttle gave no response.
    When I tilted the camera up, The K2 mix pulled ch0 to -25, which killed the motors.
    Big crash - new H - lesson learned.

    There was no mention of re-binding the Typhoon H and the ST-16 controller. At some point they will need to be bound is that not right?

    Wow, now I know what they mean by doing a flash procedure. I just sent my H Plus into Yuneec for repair as after I updated to the latest build I could not get the props to spin after startup. I tried to find the problem myself through the forums and never did get it to work. I found out there is not a GUI for the H Plus on the Yuneec website either so I don't know how I could have done this to the drone. Why can't you now access the secret menu so you can do the other cals other than the compass? Do you think this procedure would have worked so I didn't really have to send in the H Plus for repair?

    The GUI only works with PC's correct? I have an Apple, so I cannot use the GUI.

    the camera CGO3 + does not recognize the drone yuneec what I can do, it does not happen as a current

    Great video thanks for the help with installing update got a question is there a app to download videos to Dropbox from the controller it would make it easier to get the videos and photos to the computer for editing and get up on you tube have a wonderful day

    My st16 doesn't see my wifi network, i can't connect them in anyway like: wps, wifi, bluetooth. anybody any idea?

      You may have turned it off accidentally in the PAD mode, go into the settings on the android sys and see if it is turned on.

      But it's on in de pad mode, that's really strange, it saw the most wifi networks but mine not. maybe change to wep or wpa?

      Maybe your router is not broadcasting the ssid?

      Yes it does, i tried also without a password, but he can't find it. really strange. also tried to connect true WPS, pressed that button on the radio and after that the button in my router but i won't connect.

      Maybe try reset both, there is a reset option on the ST16, go into Pad and settings and backup and reset.

    i received my H two weeks ago. Do i need to update? reason am asking is that i have been having issues with the drone keep losing GPS, and acquiring it back withing seconds, even when on ground before take off. Keeps asking me to calibrate compass, done that dozen times, different locations, nothing seems to work....any one has any idea what is wrong? Happy flying people

    You guys are always coming out with these troubleshooting video for this drone how can it be a good drone if it's always running in to problems

      This is a company who has great costumer service unlike some other big drone makers. Do they have to put this helpful video up? No. But they read the forums and see what they can do to help, and so many trouble shooting videos? I don't think so. The Typhoon H is a great machine as proven all over different forums.

      I cannot find the firmware for rebooting the Typhoon H. The page he shows does not seem to exist on the US yuneec website.

    I seem to have corrupt firmware on my H.
    The GUI connects OK.
    When I start the the (old) firmware update it times out????
