We love both of you BUT WHERE IS WALTER? Our Prius is still running like new since you guys came to our house all the way from California, and installed the Gasket Masters Long block, Hug from Pauly and Rina Cocoa Florida
Warning* if this is your first time doing a big job like this I would get some help or some pointers from someone experienced. This video is fantastic I must say, but he is leaving out a handful of very very important details. Make sure when removing The cylinder heads Make sure you don't lose the dowel pins that are in the engine block holding the cylinder head and head gasket in place. It would be a good idea to clean up The piston heads in the combustion chamber of all the carbon buildup. Make sure you find a good video on how to do it before you start cleaning. You want to make sure each pissing head pushed up and level with the block. There are videos that show how to do a good job cleaning the block while it's still in the car. And the exhaust that's on the cylinder head in the back, you can unscrew it and leave it there and remove the cylinder head that's fine, but when it comes to putting it back you're better off just removing the exhaust pipe all together and screw the exhaust pipe on to your cylinder head before putting The cylinder head back on the block, it'll save you a lot of time and headache, because it is hard to see what you're doing when trying to screw the exhaust pipe into the cylinder head and it's hard to get a good feel because of the angles and location of the bolts. But in all seriousness I am very grateful for the person who did this video, because it was my first time doing a job like this after watching this video. These were just some of the things that I ran into when doing the job
Hey guys Walter came to Florida and put an Awesome New engine in our 2011, 3rd gen prius. Which is the best - ENGINE AIR FILTER and oil filter to use that doesnt restrict air so bad it lowers MPG But still protects the engine the best... Would a Fram, Wix, or your opinion greatly appreciated, or any other knolagable Prius owners. responce too Thanks in advance Paul Morris Marks, Yeah I was a Big Loser, but Walter Made my wife and I BIG WINNERS By getting our Prius back on the road within 3-1/2 ours of showing up.. God Bless..
Take a set of sockets and go see what fits your bolts. Write down the sizes, keep groups of bolts together in labeled Ziploc bags. There, Confidence to try, your welcome.

Is the 3.9 about the same? My car has 65k and a small leak so I still need to have the heads machined? How long would you say the job takes to do as well as other gaskets or seals that should be done
When you face alien technology (me as a lady who barely started to fix her own car). Just like in any other experiensive tech product. The most expensive part of them is the smallest but precise thing that does 99% of functions.
Hello. I'm a woman and can't afford to take my car to the shop. I was thinking on using concrete glue on the outside of the whole cover edge. Why are vehicles so impractical to repair? Computers are way more refined to think something similar should be happening in all the industries.
It is no based on the following assumptions: the 3.6 available on the Impala from 2012 to 2013 and 2014 -2016 Limited is a totally different engine. 3.5 and 3.9 are pushrod engines (OHV). 3.6 is a DOHC engine.
What? NO WAYYY
You have no idea how much this helped! It’s all of the details.
Video is VERY well made - steps are split up nicely! Thank you

Thank you for this useful content.
With Hydraulic Lifters are you sure we don't have to rotate the engine a few revelations to tighten the rockers? What do you mean by self adjusting?
do you have to remove oil pan to remove front cover
I removed all of the bolts on the main water outlet and it still wont come out do you have any advice?

Yes, most of the parts on the 3.9 is shared with 3.5. I know for sure the crankshaft and connecting rods are different from both engines
Hey can you do my head gasket how much it cost
Bonjour! How many hours does a job like this take you?

Because automobile engineers are stupid geniuses
Nice work, but you could have cleaned the dirty parts before playing them back in.
reface cylinder head?
what brand head gasket do you recommend? if the oil looks like milkshake, what else do you check or replace to make sure block is ok?
Felpro
How long does it take you guys to do a Prius head gasket job, an average? I’m just curious
About 3-5 days if there are Prius ahead of you but about 3 hours when we already have head ready to go
@@gasketmasters unbelievable!! That’s impressive.
Is this process the same as the 3.6 gm engine?
I dont think so
Is it OHC?

How much does one normally charge to do this?
$1000+
I'm putting new lifters in, 1 is ticking pretty bad and I can't get above 2k rpm without the engine shutting off.
never did say how many miles was on it
Can you replace the lifter on this car without removing the heads?
Yes
