I really like the scene of tension between Knuckles and Sonic over the emerald. The way Sonic's anger and slightly narrow approach clashed with Knuckles' grounded and calm attitude was refreshing to see.
For me, I think the most heartbreaking thing about Commander Walter is that he knew how close Shadow and Maria were, and was probably fond of Maria and her goofy antics which probably brought light to the workplace. So putting away her best friend Shadow must've been heartbreaking for him.
*spoiler! That scene when Shadow sees the impact of his pursuit of revenge on Tom and he sees himself in how Sonic is panicking over Tom was powerful because of Keanu's delivery of the line "what I had to" You can tell that the seeds of doubt are settling in and Shadow is forcing himself to push aside the guilt. Also at the beginning, when Maria is playing live and learn on the guitar, that was just poignant. Unfortunately the live and learn segment at the end of the film was too sparse. They should have just gone all in with it.
I 100% agree with this. I don't like how they used an orchestral version of it as shadow's theme, or why they couldn't just use at least the first verse of the original track.
As soon as Walters talked about Shadow arriving to earth in a meteorite, my first immediate thought was “OMG, the Black Comet!” Figured they were already foreshadowing Black Doom and the Black Arms being in a future movie focused on Shadow.
I flipped out when I heard live and learn dude, and so did the whole theater I was in. This movie was everything I wanted and more. I was shaking the first 30 minutes of the movie from excitement, and I was smiling head to toe walking out of the theater. I love this movie, and can’t wait to see what happens with Amy and Metal Sonic.
Truth, this film needs 30 more minutes honestly, it went too fast and that pacing was terrible, but it was still enjoyable and those post credit scenes with the moon cut in half and Shadow also returning is cool though.
Couldn't agree more about your point about the master and chaos emeralds. My question for the ending in regards to them is where are they? Does Shadow still have them? Will be interesting to see how they address that in the future if Sonic or Shadow go super agian!
Agreed on the ending sequence. Should’ve been strictly Sonic and Shadow in all their glory. They should not have gone back to Carrey being a goofball. It made the stakes feel much lower and not dire. The end of SA2 felt like the world was truly going to end if they failed.
I do agree with the fact that some parts were feeling a little rushed but then again, considering this movie had to jump so many hurdles and the fact that it was written before and maybe even during the writers strike and considering the emotional punch it packed and the epic final battle is impressive!!!
Honestly, my guess is that Neo Metal Sonic made all the Metal sonic's. Eggman made him in the past, he went rogue and something something. It's honestly a very long shot but that's my guess
The post end credit scene has shown that we finally got Amy Rose to this cinematic universe. My hope for Sonic movie 4 is that Sonic gets some dating advices from Tom and Maddie.
Honestly, yeah, I'd like to see a take on their relationship where Sonic actually acts on his feelings, and Amy becomes part of Team Sonic properly, so we have Sonic, his best friends and his girlfriend all going on adventures and chilling with the humans together.

My guess on the fourth movie is akin to Sonic Heroes where the main villain is Metal Sonic trying to rule over the world for Eggman. Or a completely different idea is something happening in Sonic’s home world and Amy was sent to get Sonic to help and Metal Sonic was trying to intervene. Either way I’m excited for Sonic 4!
One thing I forgot to talk about is that when live and learn finally starting playing it felt like this; you know when you’re starting up your first car and it’s in the middle of playing your favorite song but then the car turns off and then you turn it back on and the song is almost over? That’s what it felt like to me
It's a decent and entertaining watch for kids like the first two, but still no cigar compared to SA2. Honestly, Gerald was just done dirty, they treated him too much like a clownish villain, and he should have been played by someone else other than Carrey. That's my biggest gripe with the movie. That, and Shadow felt underused honestly. Live and Learn, the iconic SA2 lines, Eggman's theme from 06, they're all nice additions. Moving forward, I'm actually really skeptical about a Movie 4. I REALLY don't want them to pull a stupid time travel plot, not now. Either go with a Heroes adaptation, where Neo Metal Sonic is controlling the other Metals and keeping Eggman safe, or an SA1 adaptation. All of this after a proper Shadow spin off to introduce Team Dark.
What stuck out to me even over the awesome action and everything else was Shadow and Maria's line about light shining even when the star is gone. Beautiful.

I kinda had the same thought, we can have a whole damn uninterrupted dance in the middle of the movie for no good reason (even if the scene goes hard asf) but we can hear live and learn for more then 20 seconds before we gotta have a cut? Come on! LEt me hear the goddamn song!
💯%, fans already love Keanu Reeves Shadow and that alone would sell tickets. Sonic stories need a refresh after the trilogy, we could get a new one from Shadow adventure into the unknown and introduced it to Sonic cinematic universe. I told everyone that movie adaptation universe should slighty different from the source material like comics, game or animation, just keep it fresh and intertaining while being true to the lore. ❤
the point on the emeralds, i actually just now remembered that detail and thought like... yea that is strange that they didn't separate like what it looked like at the end of movie 2. maybe they went and got the chaos emeralds between movies or something? since the master emerald is like, the one that controls them and keeps them in check in original lore, maybe being inside of the master emerald is just a way of showing that its power keeps them in check or something, idk. but very good point, I would have liked it if maybe they had them split up and held between the three members of team sonic as a safety net for the emeralds
Here are my unanswered questions: What was the deal with the Gun Commander Lady? She thought Team Sonic betrayed them because the key to the eclipse canon wasn't with Commander Walters. How did she know he had it with him? Why would she assume that of an absent key and a photograph? Why did he even take it with him? Why would he entrust the key to Sonic and not keep it safe at G.U.N.? Why did he suddenly trust Sonic MORE than G.U.N.??? There was no build up to it. We only ever knew Commander Walters for being the Olive Garden Guy, tbh. For a minute I thought G.U.N. would hunt down not only Sonic but also Team Sonic and that would have created some drama. There wasn't a resolution to that plotline. Not even her apologizing to Team Sonic. Did GUN face any backlash for building a weapon that could have potentially have DESTROYED the earth??? Why didn't we get a scene of Ivo asking about his family? His parents? If he has cousins? Why is GUN giving it their all to kill Gerald, and Maria (and Shadow too, maybe, i dunno) only to get Maria killed and ARREST Gerald?? How did Shadow know that his inhibitor rings would unleash more of his power? Did Gerald make them? Why didn't we get a scene of that of Gerald giving him the rings, letting him know that taking those rings off could risk his life and he could die? My writig isn't the best so here is what I imagined: Sonic and Shadow in Space struggling to block the laser. Sonic is getting weaker. Shadow is contemplating of what he should do. He looks at his inhibitor rings. He closes his eyes and remembers what the Professor told him about the rings, and Maria, and the talk with Sonic on the moon. He opens his eyes and takes off his rings. and so on and so forth. I'm really sorry, english is not my first language and it's hard to put my thoughts into words without having the time to look through a dictionary and picking the right terms that I would have loved to use in this comment. But I think you get what I'm saying. I will update this if I come up with more questions!
This just occurred to me: You know what could have solved the emeralds problem? The Knuckles show. Instead of the weird bowling tournament, have Knuckles and Wade travel the world to recollect the emeralds and infuse them back into the Master emerald with Knuckles training Wade to be a warrior along the way. It would have given us so much more lore, too!
I read an article abt eggman and they said, eggman is gonna be in the fourth film. Or at least, it would. According to screenrant, "Casey and Miller have already hinted that he could return for the next movie, so it will be interesting to see whether they write a script that will get Carrey to come back once more after Sonic the Hedgehog 3."
In my opinion everything in this movie was good except for the wade “protecting” the master emerald, how short live and learn was and the fact that sonic and shadow didnt use chaos control to stop the eclipse cannon but it was still epic with the way they did it
I loved nearly every part of this movie. It was so peak! My only problems are firstly what you mentioned with the chaos emeralds. That also confused me in the movie. Second they reckoned how old GUN is. We see GUN around for Maria but in the second movie we hear GUN was created because of Sonic. These are just so details I can ignore though because this movie was so good
the movie was peak, though i'm really disappointed with shadow's slight mischaracterization and the change of his purpose of being created. canonically, shadow was created to help maria recover from her sickness - in the movie, maria wasnt sick or anything. theres clearly a difference between getting revenge on someone who took a friend from him and getting revenge on someone who took the one he was created to protect. it just didnt feel right. plus, shadow wouldnt really talk about his feelings so freely to someone he barely knows (sonic in this case).
Man i'm agree with you because i feel very rushed and twisted his development and another thing that i don't like and really that pissed me off and please i'm sorry if you are not agree with this, is that the voice of Keanu doesn't fit to me, sounds very older and don't feel it really nice. I really enjoyed this movie and aside of the Easter eggs and game refrences it was the scenes after shadows confrontation with Tom watching sonics interaction with knuckles and then later on shadow was great
Your point on the finale is something I feel like too many folks ignore. Its SO CLOSE to being perfect... but yeah. The tonal whiplash from the cutting back to the dumb Jim Carrey battle is soooo annoying. I really feel like Gerald should've been a little more of a straight man against Eggman. Tone down his goofiness juuust a bit. Because earlier parts of the film don't suffer nearly as much from this. The Maria death scene and reveal of Gerald's twist is actually amazing. So Jim Carrey CAN handle Gerald's seriousness well, and I wish we saw more of that. Let Eggman stay as goofy as usual. I also just think that if they were gonna use cgi to have Super Sonic and Super Shadow fight generic GUN robots, they should've just given us some smaller robot form of Biolizard anyway. Have it be a litttle more faithful to the SA2 endgame. Overall though, still a solid movie. Very interested in the future of the Sonic movie universe.
I love this movie so so much, I think they handled Shadow fantastically. My own biggest nitpick complaint is that Super Shadow was evil for a small bit. I don’t like the idea of a super form being used for evil, they’ve always been forces of pure good in the games. Yeah it’s a small thing and it doesn’t really matter, but it just bugs me a bit because narratively you could take Shadow becoming super before teaming with Sonic out and nothing would change.
In the field after Knuckles saves sonic and tails and they do that “team sonic” quote I think sonic should have looked up and said “sayonara Shadow the Hedgehog”
I do agree on the chaos emerald part. What if During the early days, Gerald actually knew about the chaos emeralds but kept it a secret to everyone including G.U.N, during this 50 years he plans to get the chaos emeralds for the eclipse canon. With this its a race to the chaos emeralds although the scene with Sonic & Knuckles might be altered and tbh one of the best parts of the Movie. Also I kinda wish a robot Biolizard reference couldve been included while Sonic & Shadow was fighting the GUN robots would be a nice callback (but its not the Biolizard and has no backstory and lore about it, just a reference) and also a distraction to Super Sonic and Super Shadow Also not to be arrogant and whinny guy but I wish the Shadow Opening scene was bigger and grander. Imagine so many GUN soldiers and even robots going after Shadow & make it similar to Sonic Unleashed Opening & Insomiac Spider-Man prison escape. It Wouldve been epic while also showing what Shadow is really capable of against the Army. While also making GUN Army small and wanting to have an overhaul especially against Anthropomorphic Aliens with Rockwell in charge

I feel under the conditions, they really almost did it perfectly, I hate it has to be really kid friendly since if this was a 16-18+ movie and less dances then it would have been super serious and far more awesome. Also apparently Jim Carey is a Reason the script is changing from the original, I like this eggman but I don't like his influence as I feel he doesn't truly care for Sonic. I'm kinda happy there was no bio lizard, I feel it was super unneeded, no space cononly arc really sucked. Sonic and Shadows final fight was super amazing especially going super and shadow using his chaos spears. Yeah, maybe it's just because i don't care that much about Jim Carrey, but I felt like this movie had TOO MUCH Jim Carrey. His Robotnik has been silly but sinister in the past two movies, which fits well, but so much of the movie was just silly. By the time the laser dance lasted for like 2 minutes, I was thinking, "could we have not used this film time on something like more Shadow or the emotional breathing room this film desperately needs?" At this point, it might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm kind of hoping Eggman is truly dead this time so Jim Carrey doesn't come back and make it overly silly again 😅 don't get me wrong, some sillyness is good and what makes these movies fun (we are talking about anthropomorphic animal aliens with superpowers), but Shadow felt overshadowed (heh) by the Robotniks' constant ridiculousness I could get into how I think the film also suffered from sidelining Tom and Maddie (especially Tom) since they kind of served as the grounding emotional and moral core of the last 2 movies, but that would also be an unpopular opinion 😂

When I went to the cinema I was hearing kids laughing at the laser dance scene which was nice seeing them enjoying a sonic movie. I'm really interested now how metal sonics story will go since eggman is apparently gone and there's multiple metals
I agree entirely with the adrenaline pumping with dehydrated Sonic and Shadow and then suddenly switching to Eggman spanking scene being a little off. I didn't REALLY like it but hey, I'm easygoing, I'm not going to be picky, I loved the movie. I am kinda glad Shadow isn't dead (he's been my favorite character for 3 years now after realizing he existed), so I can see more Keanu action here.

I think the metal sonics came from the future and were invented by eggman in the time we thought he was dead to somehow use it to kill sonic when he was a child, then by accident they went to the future where sonic was already dead. and it took them time to come back, amy came from the future too. and eventually Silver come back in sonic 5 and so and so.
I loved it, a really good time. I hope, in the future as they continue to build this Sonic Sinematic Universe, we get more moments between different characters, some more B plots, and time for everyone to shine. I really liked the Super Mario Bros. Movie... But it at times it just wasn't as cohesive, it's core narrative lesson wasn't there, and I wanted more interactions between those characters. Hence why people probably will rate sonic 3 above the Mario movie. This movie does it better, granted the writing could be a bit less full of pop culture references.
I literally feel the same way. I love it to bits as well. The music here was spectacular as well, with either game bits or orchestrated parts in the soundtrack. Definitely what they need going forward. I would argue that the movie cancels itself out multiple times, it’s just the worst in the third act. I get it’s for kids but it doesn’t hurt to take yourself more seriously at times, but that’s just me. I’m so glad we got Metal Sonic, with him being copy and pasted being the cherry on top. Thank you Sonic 3, for everything

Needed more live and learn, slightly less robotnik dancing, one more flashback of shadow with maria. The robotnik antics were almost too much for me towards the end especially considering how serious geralds backstory is in sa2. HOWEVER its a easy 9/10 minimum movie for me. Felt like a kid again. Shadow smiling was priceless.
i’m not lying to yall but this movie was so good even my mom says this been the best movie she’s ever seen. she understands a little bit of english but she told my sister and I that before the movie started that she was going to sleep during the movie but the movie was so freaking good that she was invested into the movie and she even popped when on the mid credits scene and even decided to stay for the credits to end just to see the post credit scene, something THATS NEVER HAPPENED
I liked the third film, but it has a flaw because from the second act onwards, it leaves out explanations that will never be hinted at again, or vaguely hinted at. It's a 7 movie.
my pie-in-the-sky want for a Shadow Show is him globe trotting trying to find more information on his origin and maybe the black arms. effectively an adaptation of shadow the hedgehog my more realistic want for the shadow show is to it be like the Knuckles show but instead of Wade as the lead, it's Agent Stone and him & Shadow both coming to terms with their losses and trauma, with a smidge of shadow learnign mroe about his origin

My friends and I popped off so my times in the theater. We left so hyped. Genuinely haven’t felt that way watching a movie since No Way Home.

One of the hardest scenes is where sonic and shadow dap each other up into the power up

What stuck out to me even over the awesome action and everything else was Shadow and Maria's line about light shining even when the star is gone. Beautiful.

💯%, fans already love Keanu Reeves Shadow and that alone would sell tickets. Sonic stories need a refresh after the trilogy, we could get a new one from Shadow adventure into the unknown and introduced it to Sonic cinematic universe. I told everyone that movie adaptation universe should slighty different from the source material like comics, game or animation, just keep it fresh and intertaining while being true to the lore. ❤

the point on the emeralds, i actually just now remembered that detail and thought like... yea that is strange that they didn't separate like what it looked like at the end of movie 2. maybe they went and got the chaos emeralds between movies or something? since the master emerald is like, the one that controls them and keeps them in check in original lore, maybe being inside of the master emerald is just a way of showing that its power keeps them in check or something, idk. but very good point, I would have liked it if maybe they had them split up and held between the three members of team sonic as a safety net for the emeralds

My theory is that Eggman's death paves the way for Agent Stone to take his place, becoming the next main villain of the movies
Here are my unanswered questions:
What was the deal with the Gun Commander Lady? She thought Team Sonic betrayed them because the key to the eclipse canon wasn't with Commander Walters. How did she know he had it with him? Why would she assume that of an absent key and a photograph?
Why did he even take it with him? Why would he entrust the key to Sonic and not keep it safe at G.U.N.? Why did he suddenly trust Sonic MORE than G.U.N.???
There was no build up to it. We only ever knew Commander Walters for being the Olive Garden Guy, tbh.
For a minute I thought G.U.N. would hunt down not only Sonic but also Team Sonic and that would have created some drama.
There wasn't a resolution to that plotline. Not even her apologizing to Team Sonic.
Did GUN face any backlash for building a weapon that could have potentially have DESTROYED the earth???
Why didn't we get a scene of Ivo asking about his family? His parents? If he has cousins?
Why is GUN giving it their all to kill Gerald, and Maria (and Shadow too, maybe, i dunno) only to get Maria killed and ARREST Gerald??
How did Shadow know that his inhibitor rings would unleash more of his power? Did Gerald make them? Why didn't we get a scene of that of Gerald giving him the rings, letting him know that taking those rings off could risk his life and he could die?
My writig isn't the best so here is what I imagined:
Sonic and Shadow in Space struggling to block the laser.
Sonic is getting weaker.
Shadow is contemplating of what he should do.
He looks at his inhibitor rings.
He closes his eyes and remembers what the Professor told him about the rings, and Maria, and the talk with Sonic on the moon.
He opens his eyes and takes off his rings.
and so on and so forth.
I'm really sorry, english is not my first language and it's hard to put my thoughts into words without having the time to look through a dictionary and picking the right terms that I would have loved to use in this comment.
But I think you get what I'm saying.

This just occurred to me: You know what could have solved the emeralds problem? The Knuckles show. Instead of the weird bowling tournament, have Knuckles and Wade travel the world to recollect the emeralds and infuse them back into the Master emerald with Knuckles training Wade to be a warrior along the way. It would have given us so much more lore, too!

They needed to include eggman's theme when Gerald knocked him off and he rose back up with Tails.
I read an article abt eggman and they said, eggman is gonna be in the fourth film. Or at least, it would.
According to screenrant, "Casey and Miller have already hinted that he could return for the next movie, so it will be interesting to see whether they write a script that will get Carrey to come back once more after Sonic the Hedgehog 3."
In my opinion everything in this movie was good except for the wade “protecting” the master emerald, how short live and learn was and the fact that sonic and shadow didnt use chaos control to stop the eclipse cannon but it was still epic with the way they did it
They could've expanded in the chaos emeralds in the second movie but they decided put in that unnecessary wedding subplot
5:51 if they did expand it, that will make the movie longer, like, an hour of finding 7 emeralds making it a 2 hour film

I loved nearly every part of this movie. It was so peak! My only problems are firstly what you mentioned with the chaos emeralds. That also confused me in the movie. Second they reckoned how old GUN is. We see GUN around for Maria but in the second movie we hear GUN was created because of Sonic. These are just so details I can ignore though because this movie was so good
the movie was peak, though i'm really disappointed with shadow's slight mischaracterization and the change of his purpose of being created. canonically, shadow was created to help maria recover from her sickness - in the movie, maria wasnt sick or anything. theres clearly a difference between getting revenge on someone who took a friend from him and getting revenge on someone who took the one he was created to protect. it just didnt feel right. plus, shadow wouldnt really talk about his feelings so freely to someone he barely knows (sonic in this case).
No he was also made to be the ultimate life form but in the games same thing but gerald also studies on shadow dna to hopefully cure maria
Man i'm agree with you because i feel very rushed and twisted his development and another thing that i don't like and really that pissed me off and please i'm sorry if you are not agree with this, is that the voice of Keanu doesn't fit to me, sounds very older and don't feel it really nice. It's just my opinion, because i wanted Robert Pattinson.

I really enjoyed this movie and aside of the Easter eggs and game refrences it was the scenes after shadows confrontation with Tom watching sonics interaction with knuckles and then later on shadow was great

Your point on the finale is something I feel like too many folks ignore. Its SO CLOSE to being perfect... but yeah. The tonal whiplash from the cutting back to the dumb Jim Carrey battle is soooo annoying. I really feel like Gerald should've been a little more of a straight man against Eggman. Tone down his goofiness juuust a bit. Because earlier parts of the film don't suffer nearly as much from this. The Maria death scene and reveal of Gerald's twist is actually amazing. So Jim Carrey CAN handle Gerald's seriousness well, and I wish we saw more of that. Let Eggman stay as goofy as usual.
I also just think that if they were gonna use cgi to have Super Sonic and Super Shadow fight generic GUN robots, they should've just given us some smaller robot form of Biolizard anyway. Have it be a litttle more faithful to the SA2 endgame.
Overall though, still a solid movie. Very interested in the future of the Sonic movie universe.
I love this movie so so much, I think they handled Shadow fantastically. My own biggest nitpick complaint is that Super Shadow was evil for a small bit. I don’t like the idea of a super form being used for evil, they’ve always been forces of pure good in the games. Yeah it’s a small thing and it doesn’t really matter, but it just bugs me a bit because narratively you could take Shadow becoming super before teaming with Sonic out and nothing would change.
In the field after Knuckles saves sonic and tails and they do that “team sonic” quote I think sonic should have looked up and said “sayonara Shadow the Hedgehog”

I do agree on the chaos emerald part. What if During the early days, Gerald actually knew about the chaos emeralds but kept it a secret to everyone including G.U.N, during this 50 years he plans to get the chaos emeralds for the eclipse canon. With this its a race to the chaos emeralds although the scene with Sonic & Knuckles might be altered and tbh one of the best parts of the Movie.
Also I kinda wish a robot Biolizard reference couldve been included while Sonic & Shadow was fighting the GUN robots would be a nice callback (but its not the Biolizard and has no backstory and lore about it, just a reference) and also a distraction to Super Sonic and Super Shadow
Also not to be arrogant and whinny guy but I wish the Shadow Opening scene was bigger and grander. Imagine so many GUN soldiers and even robots going after Shadow & make it similar to Sonic Unleashed Opening & Insomiac Spider-Man prison escape. It Wouldve been epic while also showing what Shadow is really capable of against the Army. While also making GUN Army small and wanting to have an overhaul especially against Anthropomorphic Aliens with Rockwell in charge

I feel under the conditions, they really almost did it perfectly, I hate it has to be really kid friendly since if this was a 16-18+ movie and less dances then it would have been super serious and far more awesome. Also apparently Jim Carey is a Reason the script is changing from the original, I like this eggman but I don't like his influence as I feel he doesn't truly care for Sonic.
I'm kinda happy there was no bio lizard, I feel it was super unneeded, no space cononly arc really sucked. I didn't mind the whole emerald thing but having that bowling dork have it was really irritating, knuckles was given solid character development, HE is the protector, the guardian and yet he hands it to that moron.
Sonic and Shadows final fight was super amazing especially going super and shadow using his chaos spears.

Yeah, maybe it's just because i don't care that much about Jim Carrey, but I felt like this movie had TOO MUCH Jim Carrey. His Robotnik has been silly but sinister in the past two movies, which fits well, but so much of the movie was just silly. By the time the laser dance lasted for like 2 minutes, I was thinking, "could we have not used this film time on something like more Shadow or the emotional breathing room this film desperately needs?"
At this point, it might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm kind of hoping Eggman is truly dead this time so Jim Carrey doesn't come back and make it overly silly again 😅 don't get me wrong, some sillyness is good and what makes these movies fun (we are talking about anthropomorphic animal aliens with superpowers), but Shadow felt overshadowed (heh) by the Robotniks' constant ridiculousness
I could get into how I think the film also suffered from sidelining Tom and Maddie (especially Tom) since they kind of served as the grounding emotional and moral core of the last 2 movies, but that would also be an unpopular opinion 😂
@summerlange8113 I completely agree, in my perfect world Jim Carrey wouldn't be eggman or he would be but a bit more serious since I really like his eggman but the issue lies completely with it being targeted to kids. When I went to the cinema I was hearing kids laughing at the laser dance scene which was nice seeing them enjoying a sonic movie.
I'm really interested now how metal sonics story will go since eggman is apparently gone and there's multiple metals

I agree entirely with the adrenaline pumping with dehydrated Sonic and Shadow and then suddenly switching to Eggman spanking scene being a little off. I didn't REALLY like it but hey, I'm easygoing, I'm not going to be picky, I loved the movie. I am kinda glad Shadow isn't dead (he's been my favorite character for 3 years now after realizing he existed), so I can see more Keanu action here.

I think the metal sonics came from the future and were invented by eggman in the time we thought he was dead to somehow use it to kill sonic when he was a child, then by accident they went to the future where sonic was already dead. and it took them time to come back, amy came from the future too. and eventually Silver come back in sonic 5 and so and so.

I loved it, a really good time. I hope, in the future as they continue to build this Sonic Sinematic Universe, we get more moments between different characters, some more B plots, and time for everyone to shine. I really liked the Super Mario Bros. Movie... But it at times it just wasn't as cohesive, it's core narrative lesson wasn't there, and I wanted more interactions between those characters. Hence why people probably will rate sonic 3 above the Mario movie. This movie does it better, granted the writing could be a bit less full of pop culture references.

Super Sonic didn't feel earned, thanks to that Emerald retcon. I do hope that they address it in a future project.
I literally feel the same way. I love it to bits as well. The music here was spectacular as well, with either game bits or orchestrated parts in the soundtrack. Definitely what they need going forward. I would argue that the movie cancels itself out multiple times, it’s just the worst in the third act. I get it’s for kids but it doesn’t hurt to take yourself more seriously at times, but that’s just me. I’m so glad we got Metal Sonic, with him being copy and pasted being the cherry on top.

Chaos Emerald being reformed... I think... I don't have paramount plus so I haven't watched it.
Needed more live and learn, slightly less robotnik dancing, one more flashback of shadow with maria.
The robotnik antics were almost too much for me towards the end especially considering how serious geralds backstory is in sa2.
HOWEVER its a easy 9/10 minimum movie for me.
Felt like a kid again.
Shadow smiling was priceless.

i’m not lying to yall but this movie was so good even my mom says this been the best movie she’s ever seen. she understands a little bit of english but she told my sister and I that before the movie started that she was going to sleep during the movie but the movie was so freaking good that she was invested into the movie and she even popped when on the mid credits scene and even decided to stay for the credits to end just to see the post credit scene, something THATS NEVER HAPPENED

I liked the third film, but it has a flaw because from the second act onwards, it leaves out explanations that will never be hinted at again, or vaguely hinted at. It's a 7 movie.

my more realistic want for the shadow show is to it be like the Knuckles show but instead of Wade as the lead, it's Agent Stone and him & Shadow both coming to terms with their losses and trauma, with a smidge of shadow learnign mroe about his origin
