TaylorBedo but also if you look at other climbing channels you have people like Magnus Midtbo and compared to that, he is a beginner (no offense). I mean Magnus can do a freaking 1 arm muscle up and 20 muscle ups after a long climbing day, and he also has amazing technique so it isn’t just pure strength either, etc.
Yes! I found this WAY more helpful because it felt in reach (haha). Seeing someone who I can look to get to without feeling way too far behind was really nice :)
Went rock climbing (bouldering) with a friend for the first time ever yesterday and had so much fun! I started with VB and V1 but got all the way up to climbing multiple V3!! Honestly really proud of myself
I remember when my cousin took us climbing at a gym. It was REALLY fun, though I couldn't do the boulder climbs. I'm excited to drive down to my local climbing center, even though I'll be alone, I think I'll have a good time learning.
I’m from Australia and I love watching your climbing video. I started climbing two years ago for a new challenge, it gave me confidence and last year I went to a lunch event and met the man of my dreams who is now my husband. He can’t climb due to a medical issue but I do bouldering about twice a week. I have subscribed to your channel and anyone can learn at any age.
i just started a couple of weeks ago and i love it! i am not very good at all. i am doing V1 climbs, but i think that is only because i have always worked out. climbing is tough, but really rewarding! thanks for the awesome video!
I’m studying videos atm, I have a fear of heights. And I just recently conquered a tall ladder and stairs. But I wanna start out slow with this and ease my way in. I conquered my entire arachnid phobia, I no longer fear spiders and other arachnids. I conquered my severe fear of doctors and needles… Nos it’s time for this. ^^
Really enjoyed this video. Would live to see more climbing tutorials. I use to climb a lot and am getting back into it but really enjoyed the basics instruction and felt it was very informative.
I realy like the format of your video. Jumping back to provide lingo in context is a nice touch. i'm going to subscribe. Now.... time to binge your channel.
Yeah, no way for someone like me who isn't nearby one... There are natural climbing sites in my village (People call em hills, lol) but those are too hard for beginner
I can’t wait for when I am able to experience climbing… inside and outside. Right now i’m working on losing weight (it will be HARD to support myself climbing when i’m overweight) so then it can be easier. I’m so excited for this new chapter so experience in my life.
Okay I'm excited, I thought my only option was this one gym that was 20 bucks a month but I found one that is just bouldering and that's 5 bucks for the whole day, and only 10 minutes away from me. I think that'll be a great start
Going to go to my local climbing gym this week about 30 minutes away. Started taking mtb more seriously a year and a half or 2 ago and have somewhere in the 2000-2500 mile range in so It wouldn’t be first sport to fall in love with. I have 5-6 huge boulders in my yard largest one is 40-50x30-40 and about 15-20feet tall. We’ve actually had people come and boulder on them before there’s a pretty hard vertical route that i definitely can’t do I used to use my moms rock climbing shoes😂 so much to learn I can’t wait and I’ve got practice in my backyard😂
Lemme just say I embarrassed myself to death when I went rock climbing with friends at a fair 😭 I couldn’t even do it and their was a crowd in line just watching mee and I know they were laugh lol 😂 IT LOOKED SOO EASY but bro I was wrong loll I’m watching videos how to rock climb so this never happens again :/ lol
I'm just about to get into climbing. One, because I'd lke to climb, but secondly, it seems like most of the people who climb are generally happier people in life (from what I've seen and heard anyway).
Just start hitting the climbing gym and learn how to belay, once you get more into it it’ll be easy to meet more and more people who are in and love the sport. Just get out there and do it!
At most climbing gym you can request a short (20-30 min) intro to how to climb, literaly the basics, then after that just push yourself as hard as you can. You can check out my chanel for some clips if u want☺
ok, so i'm a bigger guy. about 330 currently. but thankfully not all fat. at my skinniest i was about 260 and pretty much solid muscle (I was in the army in iraq at the time) i'm also 6'3" if i got back down to a manageable weight, would it be feasible for me to start rock climbing? i've always been really interested in it and have climbed rock bluffs and things when on the coast. i'm sure that's much easier than a rock wall, but i've always had in interest in climbing.
I think so, definitely. I’ve seen some guys way less “fit” than me that can out climb me any day, so much about technique goes into climbing, not to mention grip strength and forearm endurance! Best bet is to go to a gym and just get on a wall ✌️
let me tell you noobs a little story about wearing helmets, for years I skated, mostly street, with no helmet, went to the local indoor park one day with my friends and they had introduced a new compulsory helmet policy after some crazy parent tried to sue the skate park. we all bought one and went at it. after skating some ledges and rails I went to drop in on an empty pipe, it was not a big ramp only about 5ft high. every thing normal, tail on the coping, dropped in and disaster.... I didn't know it but I'd snapped my back kingpin on a previous landing... my board fish tailed all over the place, I came off, my ass hit the other side and the back of my head smashed the steel coping so loudly the whole park stopped to see what had just happened... i shrugged it off and fiddled with my snapped King pin, 45 minutes later... I didn't know my name, how old I was, where I lived, where I was or who I was with... passed out.... 8hrs later I woke up on my friends dinning room table... if I wasn't wearing that helmet I'm pretty sure I'd have permanent brain damage. my advice buy a helmet first.... your dealing with a lot more force than skating a small halfpipe and as you go forward dont forget to assess the equipment your using, is it time to retire it before something bad happens? goes for anything, cars, lovers, friends, jobs, get in and get out. safely. 8 billion people and 155 million km2 to explore, what ya hanging around for 😉
I'm going to start going to the rock climbing gym with my brother every Saturday starting in two days! It's basically my dream to be fit, but I've been too scared to try because of medical issue so wish me luck :D
Ug! Climbing at Castle Rock State Park! Those climbs you were trying to do ARE very slippery. I hope you moved over to the better clinging to the right of that area.
Hey, how frequently do you recommend climbing indoors per week for essentially a beginner? I would go everyday if I could because I absolutely love it, but I try to do intervals of one day climbing, one day rest. What are your thoughts?
Some Body when I started I could only climb twice a week. Now that my body is used to it I can climb about 3 or 4 days in a row before I have to take a rest. Those rest days are great for active recovery; stretching, resistance bands, rice buckets etc.
When you go outdoors how do you place the bolts? Are they already placed? Who places them? How do you know they’re safe? How many newbie question can I fit into one comment?
The bolts will already be there if it's a known route in an area known for climbing. How do you know you can trust them? You don't! But you can usually look at a bolt and make a decision if you want to trust it. Routes that are frequently climbed will usually have bolts in good conditions, as they're looked at/assessed by experience climbers very frequently.

climbing gives you different vibes that somehow can change your outlook in life.
Adrenaline is centering...nature is good for the brain...so seems like it would make life better for sure
The fact that y’all are playing Atmosphere in that gym is bad ass!!!!!

As a newer climber, this is fun to watch. People need to know depending on how you climb numbers aren't a thing. Try what you can. Go for it!
I’m 28 and just getting into climbing I really appreciated your video
“It’s called a figure 8 because it’s a figure 8, you can see that it is a figure 8 by the way that it is” might be my favorite part of the video lmao

That’s actually really good!
Being short has it’s advantages and disadvantages. Good for weight/grip ratio but when long reaches are needed I have to often jump more.
Love hearing Atmosphere bumping in the background at the gym. 👌

Great intro video to climbing might give this a shot this summer since snowboard season is over
Go for it! Do you have a local climbing gym or are you going to go for the real deal (outdoor on a mountain)?
I’m not sure I’d have to look around and see I probably should do indoor Since I’ve never done it before
Is the beard required?
Having a beard is recommended when climbing, but not mandatory 😐
Fair game then.
Yes

There are two types of people. Men with beards and women
