How would a grandparent go about getting custody of a child in a diff state. Where one parent died. And the other gave up custody of the chil?

In Florida, Chapter 751 would guide a grandparent to obtain temporary custody; however, there are several requirements and nuances that should be discussed with an attorney because, in general, grandparents do not have rights to their grandchildren. As far as obtaining custody of a child in a different state, I would suggest contacting an attorney in the state that you wish to pursue court intervention.

Divorced, and child support was issued. My son has a disability. we both lived in central Florida, however due to unforeseen circumstances I moved to West Palm Beach 3 years ago. I always encourage my son to call his dad, and every time we are in Central Florida we let the father know so he can spend time with him. I am not blocking my ex-husband or my child from spending time together. Unfortunately the father doesn't show any interests other than calling on special days like birthday and xmas. I let the father know of all the appointments, expenses, and more. He never responds to me. My son no longer wants to spend over night with his father due to his previous experiences of how he was treated by his girlfriend, and the sleeping arrangements. Due to the fact my son is legally blind, and has autism. he doesn't due well to change. My son tries very hard to have a connection with his father, but its not reciprocated. Am I able to file for Full custody?

So without having a lot of details, I would say yes!! It sounds like there has been a whole lot of change in circumstances in your situation such as relocating to WPB, dad not exercising timesharing, medical concerns, etc. A modification requires a change of circumstances that was unanticipated at the time of the last order. It sounds like you have that much. Keep in mind that you have to file your modification in the county where the last order was entered. I hope that helps.

    I have a question,
The father and I was never married. He abandon when I was pregnant and didn’t sign the birth certificate.
He sued me for 50/50, and he doesn’t want to pay child support. He lied to his lawyer about a lot of things. I hired a lawyer that wasn’t on my side, she never communicated with me. We went to mediation and I felt absolutely alone. I can see that she already made arrangements with his lawyer. The mediator wasn’t nice. When I didn’t agree, she’ll lower his child support payments, she also stated that they think he doesn’t owe any back pay. His lawyer also did not report his income correctly.
We have had unreported domestic violence. I have tried to coparent with him but it’s extremely complicated.
His parents also cruse me out and try to fight me.
His whole family came to mediation.
He works for a company that pays 23.86 and he only pays 200 a month.
We never lived together. He fought for 180,000 in life insurance over my life. We both have to pay 50/50 for everything that we agree on so he make sure that he doesn’t agrees. He calls to argue but text really nice. I seriously need help. Please I need someone to advocate for me and my son.

Assuming you are talking about Florida law...if there is no court order establishing paternity, you, as mom, are the only legal parent. You may move wherever you want including out of state. For further insight, call me directly at 863-295-9300

In a better position!? Mom is the one holding all the cards!!!? Wtf is this! That’s what’s wrong with the law! This is the same bs I’m talking about ! It’s rigged. We have no other choice but to go thru an attorney! What do you do if your appalled by attorneys and judges?
