NEW Any% World Record After 2 Year Break! [WR] | Spyro 2: Season of Flame

(quality is bad cause I have to stream on a laptop atm)
Was running against not my at the time PB, but it was close enough splits to compare against. I saved 1 second in Sunny Plains, lost 4 in Celestial Plains, and saved 9 seconds in Starry to PB. I lost most of my time to silly firefly collecting mistakes and missing a few pause collects. Sub 23:30 is definitely close.
Its really easy to lose all the time you save because of one mistake, so its really just a testament to how consistent you can be with all of the fireflies, and I guess Boss Fights. Having an optimal 4th death would really help as well. As far as I'm aware the best strat is to die 3 times in Haunted Hills, but that 3rd death is a frame perfect trick. So the fastest backup I'd say is either dying at the beginning of Winter Mesa, or Moon Fondue (I did the ladder to be safe).
I got accepted to show off this game/category at Summer Games Done Quick 2024 and have been preparing and its paying off! Hope to get my computer situation resolved after the event, but will be practicing and preparing for now and will try for more PBs after GDQ.

Congratulations on a great run! So nice to see this game still getting some attention! Looking forward to seeing your run at AGDQ and some 23:20 attempts! Nice to see all the little time saves with the hovers etc and finding a way of fitting OOB into the run even if it quite small! I still wonder if the gypsy road imps might be worth it...

Yoo the legend, thank you! Very excited to show off this game at SGDQ! I have tried to see how much time the Imps take and i think its just barely not worth it at least with current RTA strats. I think the another issues is that its hard to think of what it would replace. I'll continue to bring the time down as best as I can and who knows what the future brings. There's a possible OOB strat going into Gulp but im not sure its worth it (but looks cool so I will be doing it in marathon runs lol)
