It was the one thing I have always said when it comes to a guy with Francis's power. Everyone always talks about how it's HW boxing and that anyone can knock you out if they land a good punch, the difference is Francis has the power to floor you with a bad, poorly timed arm punch. So while everyone can land a knockout blow, not everyone can throw off balance with 6 inches of travel and put people to sleep. Real raw power is when it doesn't need technique to be effective.

Seeing Fury get knocked down was absolutely shocking and satisfying to see if he had gotten the ko he would have made history. Francis did absolutely amazing
I mean everyone that knew combat sports thought Tyson would run through Ngannou and it’s not dumb to think he would, even in hindsight it’s crazy and just came out of nowhere with how technical and reserved Francis was
thats literally what I was thinking the whole time I was watching the fight, even the fact that the decision was a bit controversial is just rocky to a tea.
Rocky never had it as bad as Francis. Every step in his life was a mad struggle. How does the son of a street fighter in Cameroon, who was mining sand at the age of 10, survive the desert, climb barbed wire fences in, nearly dying on the streets of Paris, all to pursue the dream of boxing like Mike Tyson? And then to meet his childhood hero and be trained to inherit his spirit and legacy, only to beat the greatest boxer of this generation.. that my friend is how you make a legend.
Whether if you believe it was a robbery or not, at the end of the day Ngannou went toe to toe with the Undefeated World Heavyweight Champion of boxing and someone who is considered the "GOAT" of boxings current era. Not only did Ngannou go toe to toe but knocked fury down twice and even took an illegal elbow like nothing happened. Ngannou made the MMA community proud today, he embarrassed the furys, and Showed the World how Damn Good He is.
It seemed like the only rounds where Fury kind of dominated were rounds where Ngannou eased off, it wasn't like Fury was actually fully dominating or controlling the fight. EDIT - Ngannou gets the 7th, he dropped Fury with that punch as Fury was rushing in. Furys head flung back, his face screwed up and his legs gave way. He was clinging on for dear life and Ngannou pushed him away. The ref ruled it a slip/push... Ngannou threw more, landed even, but landed the best punch of the round = Ngannou won the 7th.
I am still stunned to say this, but Tyson took damage last night. And Francis took none 😂 I don't even understand how Tyson gonna fight in 8 weeks after that.. Not to mention none of the fans care about Fury v Usyk now. Everyone wants Francis to get real, fair chance.. or as fair as corrupt boxing can provide.. And w real belt on the line. The fans want Francis! The Baddest Man on the Planet 🔥

Boxing fans said fury beats everybody before this now its "oh wilder would beat him joshua would" bwahaha joshua fears ngannou and wilder got bullied by fury what ya think big ngannous gameplan would be? I ate crow big time doubting francis
Tyson started to land the jab in the 5-6 and Francis got hip to it in the 7th and switched to southpaw and used his lead hand to take away the jab from Tyson making the rest of the fight a battle of the rear power hands and was winning that! Which is why he looked so good in rounds 8-10 Tyson couldn't get his jab off because Francis switching to southpaw and Perrying the jab with his lead hand. Just a really high IQ play from Francis
I think it's fine to say that Ngannou is physically the most gifted human on earth. The harsh circumstances + incredible genetics made him the baddest man on the planet

NFL and NBA just give freakish athletes the biggest chance at getting paid a lot so a lit of kids grow up playing with both sports their entire lives and both recruit globally as well
What I especially love about the knock down is it wasn't just a bully punch. A wild right hand that managed to connect. It was timed perfectly, like a natural
Ah yes all natural. Not the year of full boxing training he did when he was barely in his 20s, and extensive striking and boxing he did and trained specifically in for years in MMA and used in many fights lol
Ngannou has an amazing talent, he began training mma 11 years ago at 26 yo, he has become the UFC HW world champion 9 years later, he has then done a 3 month boxing training camp to beat the HW boxing world champion, this is mental
It's really not. People make way too big of a deal of people doing something "their whole life" Some people are fast learners or just physically gifted. But it also doesn't take that long to learn the stuff. The guys who are the best isn't usually because they done it the longest but that they have a naturally high fight IQ.
@@marksommers4179Wouldn’t that then mean that Tyson who was born from a lineage of “fighters” would have the natural fight IQ to beat Francis? Considering the fact that he’s done it his entire life on top of already having a naturally high fight iq?
@@thecasual1011 Yes, and he did beat Francis. So what are you missing here? Tyson Fury has been a great undefeated heavyweight for a very long time now.
Imagine if after Ngannou dropped him in the 3rd round he instinctively ran in with one of those hammerfists that he always used in the UFC when he got a knockdown lol
Fury had 3 game plans which Francis shut down one by one. 1. He came out hunting for the left hook/right hand combo, and it was working; he landed several times, but he became predictable with it, and Francis countered the right hand with a left hook which dropped him, then Fury abandoned that combo entirely for the rest of the fight. 2. Fury then changed up the strategy by sticking behind the jab at long range, and this also worked, but Francis switched to southpaw to take away the open hand jab. Fury also switched to southpaw to adapt, but Fury looked really unconvertible in southpaw and ended up switching back. 3. Fury then tries to wear Francis down in the clinch, but Francis was using real clinching techniques which Fury has never seen, such as using bicep control and turning with the shoulder to prevent Fury from advancing, which allowed Francis to use 0 energy in the clinch, making Fury do all of the work.
It was a fantastic moment when Francis flattened Fury!! An absolutely unforgettable moment that literally millions of us all shared, it was just incredible. Francis did enough to win in my view. 💥🥊

@@marksommers4179 I’d imagine he still cut the weight for this fight regardless of the no weight cap just to feel comfortable and improve his cardio because he was 300 at the start of this camp 4 months ago but he wouldn’t have made 3 rounds at the weight so 272 was preferable for him.I don’t think he could make 250 without struggle which is a crazy thought just due to his genetics but he could be a monster at 245-55 fight weight. He’s probably never been less than 240 as an adult absolutely ridiculous.
Punches landed per round card shows Francis won too even without taking into account Francis was also the aggressor and had ring generalship. Francis had rounds 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8. With a 10-8 in the 3rd. Edit: before anyone says it. Yes the 7th round was razor close with the same amount of punches landed by both but Francis had more power punches landed and was the aggressor and commanded the pace of the fight.

Fury should be embarrassed just by how close and competitive it was. I thought he won it but barely and that's a problem and he looked visibly embarrassed after the fight aswell. Because Francis was effective he was still abit crude/limited but he kept trying to draw Tyson's lead and don't think fury expected that and he thought Ngannou was gonna be the one who was coming forward so he could break him down that way and up close Francis was very physically strong as well. Fury is a really good fighter and he's had some great nights but the talk about him being one the greatest ever needs to stop now because he almost ended up spreading his legs for a guy who's never had a pro boxing match an as the lineal heavyweight champion in boxing that's concerning
they should rematch that fight it was a really close one. You could even give it to Francis. but after Tyson saw what Francis could do and that he’s a really big threat, he probably won’t do it, because Francis is better than a lot of decorated heavyweight fighters. and Francis almost had a match against Derek chizora on misfits, and after seeing what Francis did to Tyson, and how Derek could barely do anything to Tyson, Francis, possibly would’ve gave Derek brain damage
This fight could’ve gone either way. But the fact that it is is WILD. The future of boxing is on rocky legs right now. Ngannou vs Joshua or Fury or Wilder all makes sense right now
It's not just that Francis knocked Fury down. It's all the other stuff. How Francis stayed balanced with his legs, had great reactions, body shots, shifted stance's, effective energy, etc. *The only thing i could critique was, he needed to stop trying to counter lead left hook in the later rounds because when Francis went he was getting success. I hope this shows him that If he didn't slow down his offensive output he could legitimately go out there and be a very successful boxer. BUT There was never a point where (Fury was CLEARLY winning or even HURTING Francis) Which, i wish was a bigger factor in what decided who wins this fight! *Also Francis dealt with Furys pressure & clinching nonsense Better than anyone! He posted up certain times, framing off, throwing shots in the clinch. Handling getting hit with the Hardest illegal Elbow, that (could u imagine the reaction if it was the other way around?) Lastly, even tho yes he definitely needed more offensive output in the final rounds BUT it's impressive Francis was able to manage his energy and stamina throughout these 10 rounds against a huge dude that clinches other's to death. It's beyond impressive and i hope to see Francis commit more to boxing because he just proved he can hang with the best and with him now knowing that, i think he can really be a force of nature in the boxing world.
What the heck people are surprised about, look at the physique and speed of Nagannou, and look who trained him, the baddest man on the planet Iron Mike.
Very well spoken. Well edited and considered yet clearly displaying sound knowledge. Great analysis very hard to disagree with especially after 1 initial viewing of the fight 👏👏
This is less about "embarrassing the sport of boxing" (it didn't) and more about Francis choosing the wrong career from the jump, he should've been a boxer period. Put him on the pro circuit and he could be a top 5 heavyweight easily based on his performance (losing performance, cope).
To be fair, he's usually pretty ruggish when not fighting anyone for almost a year. Like Otto Wallin, Francis got the "Gypsy Prince" and was used as a tune-up fight. They'll likely rematch down the road, but that'll depend on the result of the Usyk bout. Either way, GOOOD SHIIITTT FRANCIS!!!!🤙
Good point. I also think even though he prepared for Francis he was looking past him which is never a good idea, hell he already had a December fight booked against usyk lol which now looks very unwise. In a close fight you give the edge to the fighter who was the aggressor, displayed ring generalship, and landed the more significant strikes. Francis won that fight.
Ngannou wasn't the aggressor. He was standing there playing possum waiting to throw a counter right-hand for most of the fight. You don't understand boxing scoring.

One thing i think your forgetting wade, is the fact that those 6 months of training francis had were under the tutalege of Mike Tyson. Arguably one of the greatest boxers of all time. Maybe thats why francis was great that night, because of the legend that guided him. Which if you look at it that way, it doesnt expose boxing. It just means that when you put a guy like francis under the wing of mike, you are going to get greatness
his full camp was 4 months because of his knee rehab keeping him out of training and Francis admits Mike only joined for the last 2 months which only makes it crazier. He should keep Mike on side and over the next 3 years clean up the bottom 7 top 10 heavyweights before going for whoever the top 3 are in 2 years (likely not AJ and Wilder) and then going for the fury rematch once ngannous the clear A side and the money fight hopefully can retire by 40 with 150m.
Mike Tyson hasn’t coached before. He’s not bringing some bum up to the lineal HW champ level, Ngannou is a beast and would have done this with a mediocre trainer.
Just in October, both Fury brothers "won" 2 fights with controversy against a novice boxer and a debuter. Really sheds a light on the corruption of boxing thats ruining the sport, clearly 1.) Fury is a paper champion who hasn't fought in a year and wasn't stripped because the WBC is corrupt. He also ducked Wallin 2, Usyk, Joshua, Hunter, Zhang, Sanchez within that year for those who don't know.
He's already lost to and robbed McDermott as well. And while Wilder can be dangerous he only has 2 decent wins against fighters on their way out (Ortiz and Helenius at around 40).
Plus besides that, Fury's best win is an aging Klitschko and henbarely got past Wallin.

Imagine if after Ngannou dropped him in the 3rd round he instinctively ran in with one of those hammerfists that he always used in the UFC when he got a knockdown lol

Muscle memory

One thing i think your forgetting wade, is the fact that those 6 months of training francis had were under the tutalege of Mike Tyson. Arguably one of the greatest boxers of all time. Why does everyone say Tyson is 6 ft 9, it’s factually incorrect. He is 6 ft 7 at best, he had 3 inches on Francis.
FRANCIS NGANNOU: THE BADDEST MAN ON THE PLANET
Ngannou is actually the baddest man on the planet
Yep, seen Mike Tyson even saying this too.
Did you forget I exist?
@@Horsemanpig oh shit, yeah man my bad 🫡
The difference between both fighters this fight is that Francis took this fight as seriously as a world title fight whereas Tyson took this fight as a exhibition fight and not as a title defence. You can tell he’s disappointed with his own performance. Never underestimate any fighter no matter what their record says. This fight is like a true Rocky Balboa story
Trained 10 months for this instead of 6 and said himself he trained harder for ngannou than anyone else
@@rustyray420 doesn’t seem like it with his result, this was his worst performance in a long while, you can’t do a longer training camp and get progressively worse, it’s obvious that Tyson underestimated Francis from the very beginning.
@tallg02 that's what he said but I think after the knockdown, he was just shook and it just messed with his head and gameplan
Gotta love the excuses. Francis just looks like a better boxer. He’s a lot stronger than anyone he’s ever faced!
Cope
I was wrong. I said Tyson would use this as a warm up, but I am really enjoying being wrong! Who can't appreciate an underdog surprising everyone?!
Loving it! Now I want to see more of Francis in the ring!
He didn’t embarrass boxing, he just showed how good of a boxer he can be. People think suga can beat gervonta now then? Like it doesn’t make sense, fury has always had problems with weird fighters, deltas wildfire etc.
It's for clicks I think, in the same video he bigs up Ngannou but also tries to paint Fury as embarrassing...and you can do one or the other but they can't really work together...pick your narrative. It's also very common in the world of sport journalism to do this I think, it's what gets them engagement, that's why i sort of agree with KSI on the Wade criticism somewhat, these sports journos can be major flip floppers, just saying big stuff for engagement
He did embarrass boxing, the exclamation point was the decision 😎😀
If Francis can do this to Fury in a boxing ring then just imagine what Jon Jones would do to him in a room
