@@placeholdername3818 well he wanted to kill him and then archeon came back as the boss so, he would be an idiot standing against everchosen i all but name :-D
Fun fact: the Mutalith and the Haruspex have an annual contest where they compete to see whose the best at frenching in the galaxy. Every year is more interesting than the last as they each keep growing more tongues.
You would have loved the old Realm of Chaos books from back in the eighties. The whole point of them was to start as a mortal champion and fight against other warbands until either you died or you became a spawn or daemon prince - and then your warband could continue under one of your lieutenants (and if your previous champion had turned into a spawn they may keep them and herd them into battle too) :-)
Even though they aren’t top tier, i love my slaves to darkness army. Before the battletome dropped I bought and painted a beautiful daemon prince. The aesthetics, variety and versatility of the army is what drew me in. Theyre badass. Favorite unit is Archaon.
One cool bit of old world lore from the book Wulfrik (100% reccomend you read) regarding chaos spawn was when a sorcerer turned an imperial soldier to a spawn, then another soldier tried stabbing him to kill the spawn but the magic sucked that guy in through his sword and arm and they both became a part of the same spawn
I know this is 40k soon really nothing to do with AOS, but with the Vortex Beast it was a possible end route for the path to Glory from tzeentch other than the three you mentioned. And I really love how tzeentch changed the game by adding a fourth outcome.
While I agree that the Daemon Prince is awesome, for me the draw of the Slaves to Darkness army is the struggle. So I was drawn towards the Ravagers part much like you are drawn towards the Despoilers. For me the Ravagers represents the start of the journey and I'm hoping one day I will have an actual ascension on the table top. Great videos, loving these.
I must correct you on one thing. Chaos Spawn arent reviled, certainly they arent given the honor that say literally any one else of the forces of chaos is given but they are not hated. Rather they are in a twisted sort of way somewhat respected for in their misery of a existence they are closer to the gods then most will ever be.
Jackalope it was a 1k list to test out the new book if I remember correctly I took something like this: Daemon prince Sorcerer 20 warriors 20 marauders 20 marauders It worked out to about 1020 pts. My friend miscalculated his list and was 50 points over so I got the excuse to run the other unit of 20 marauders instead of the spawn I used to round off my points in the original list. I’m guessing you were looking for a 2k list tho, don’t have that much painted yet. Also I ran them as despoilers and took the Doombringer blade artifact. It turns 20 marauders that can teleport into a decent Assassin unit. They do something like 25 wounds on the charge with the blades bonus if they can all get into contact with it (very likely with monster riding leaders) Another fun tactic for despoilers and cabalists is too first turn charge a 40 man marauder unit into the enemies whole army. Add several command points of the daemon princes ability and maybe the nurgle battalion and watch the enemy kill themselves. Your marauders will die, but the amount of potential mortal wounds is hella worth it. I say use despoilers or cabalists for the tactic as despoilers have a command pt relic I believe (or maybe it’s a trait) and cabalists can more easily cast the teleport spell as to not waste the command pts just to fail the spell :(
I am starting a slaves army and love all this lore. As a soldier of line performs well in games I would like to gradually g8ve him the gifts he desires. Starting as a chaos warrior what stages are there moving up towards princehood?
Hey there! Well they can go a few different ways depending on how you setup your warband.... but a generic one may be marauder - Chaos Warrior - Chosen (or chaos knights) Chaos Lord (or Sorceror) - Daemon Prince. But theres a lot of wiggle room in there.
I have a lore question. Why does the Grand Alliance Destruction seem to have so little a role in the main story lines? I’m pretty new to the game and lore and what little I know comes from your videos (thank you, btw, your content is great) but it appears to me that Destruction is rarely relevant to the larger and major plots that move the story and game forward. Thanks!
What does it mean to "take on too many gifts at once"? Can the subject refuse these gifts, or choose to space them out to prevent transforming into a chaos spawn? And if they do a super awesome thing for their god, are they at risk of recieving too many gifts right then-and-there?
Sure thing! So it's a bit vague because the "Gifts" in this case can be any form of mutation. Could be as simple as enhanced strength, to weird stuff like growing one hundred eyeballs down your left leg. The core idea here is that the gods care very little for what their followers can truly stand. Sometimes the glass overflows a little when they pour out their rewards.... and a mortal body simply cannot handle it all.
Belakor was first DP, He is in AOS, Fantasy and 40k. He crowned Archeon as the everchosen.
what an absolute chad
Forced to crown him in fantasy

Also bel’akor is technically archaon’s dad since he possessed the norscan tribesmen who would conceive archaon

Belakor should be ancient, he is first Deamon prince and has ascended when CHAOS GODS were young.....let that sink in.

Bel,akor is one of the few undivided princes of fantasy, there are few others. and a lot in 40k
Wait, so there can be more undivided Demon princes in AOS?
@@BadPabda in theory there could be. We have tons of them in 40k
A very extremely awesome video as always Doug, and who knows of how many daemon princes that Chaos have in it's ranks.

The greatest horror of a daemon prince is when he does D3 wounds back to you when you roll a 6.

Since Slaanesh is imprisoned does that mean Daemon Princes dedicated to him/her can't be made?
Phoenix Kelley I think they’re just flimsy.
The first time I fielded a demon prince in fantasy, it got sniped out in the first turn by skaven warp cannons... I was pissed
