At least the Oscars and the Grammys only nominate valid artists, movies and songs for their awards. For example neither the CMA new artists of the year nominations nor several of the new album nominations were new. It's just Nashville trying to reward themselves.

@@ritathomason1046 you don’t have to be a country singer to host the CMAs😂 he’s literally the most country southern type of person. He played for Tennessee and grew up in New Orleans and is friends with a lot of country singers and has gone up stage with them to sing with them

You understand. The entire CMA awards are just like that. Also, winning is so arbitrary because so many who are nominated shouldn't even be valid. One of the new album nominations (sayin' What I'm Thinking) is over 2 years old, and the only reason it was eligible was because of a stupid loophole they added this year.

I want to say these awards are uncorrupt, but they are not. They generally don't choose based on gender, but there are different stupid things that influence their decisions. It's all Nashville trying to reward themselves. Just look at how many times Old Dominion has won vocal group of the year. That should not happen.
