    The idea of a Disney protagonist swearing in their diary is hilarious to me. It's a shame they cut that joke. It actually got a chuckle out of me. I didn't chuckle once during the final film. Honestly, they need to release the original storyboard version with the film on DVD.

    Even if this never gets fully animated, they need to release the full storyboard of this version of the movie. We NEED to have it in some form, even if we'll never see it in its fully animated glory that it should have been.

    at this point im 100% convinced this movie's final product being bad was on *purpose* just so Frozen 3 (and 4?!?!) can be seen as a better movie so they don't have to write "woke" anymore (as in won't have to include black or brown characters as main leads) cus the final movie is so empty compared to many deleted scenes and even the most basic of stories.
    Bob Igor has been capitalizing on Frozens success for freakin' years despite it also being a bit of a basic nothing movie, but not to the level of emptyness the final product that Wish is.
    Theres also the fact this final product version of the movie is *such* nothing emptiness, Igor basically knows he doesn't have to put effort (money) into Frozen 3 as long as the movie has basic storytelling and music in it- it will automatically be better than WISH that way.
    crackpot theory tldr, Wish was made this way to lower our expectations so Frozen 3 (and 4?!?!) doesn't have to put effort into being an actual good movie, and therefore make a shitton of money for having basic storytelling in it (and of course as Igor said himself, will not focus on representation which can be crucial for storytelling, stories and perspectives we will now miss out on.)
    Why is this my conclusion? Cus Disney's known to pull this kinda stuff before. (Princess and the Frog and Treasure Planet are BIG examples, but atleast those movies had actual good stories and songs as a final product)
    This movie was bad on purpose and it shows and it FRUSTRATES ME people blame it on woke when the movie has been featuring Asha being black as early as the earliest of concept art (so she was black and with good writing!). wokeness didnt kill this movie Bob Igor did.

    Can someone explain the concept of the story this deleted scene is from?

    • @kellyly3614
      @kellyly3614 3 месяца назад +15

      The movie is called 'Wish'. This is an early version of the movie so this scene actually doesn't fit into the actual movie's plot anymore.
      The movie is about a kingdom ruled by a magical king that can take/grant wishes. The King lets anyone over 18 years old give him a wish to one day be granted; then he chooses at least one wish to grant per month. Everyone in the kingdom is happy and loves the king, until Asha (a girl who lives in the kingdom) finds out the King does not plan on granting every wish and also refuses to return the wishes to their owners, despite knowing that it is a key part of their identity. The girl is frustrated with the king's system and ends up wishing upon a star, not realising that the star would answer her call. Together, Asha and the star work to give the kingdom a better chance at achieving their dreams.
      The movie itself is a bit lacking, but there are a lot of interesting early concepts and drafts for the movie that were unfortunately removed. In this version, Asha is part of a secret village that is hiding themselves (and their wishes) from the king. Here Asha's grandfather has brought her to a wishing tree to teach her to not give up hope and to stand up for a better future. It was scrapped because the writers decided it would be more interesting to have everyone love the King from the start.

    Okay but like the implications that her grandfather had probably written those wishes over and over because he was hopeful and hence why compared to the others that forgot their wish he’s more spirited? Like that’s rich. And Asha relenting and hanging up his wish. THIS tree being The Important Tree. This tree could even be the elder tree from pocahontas (so the wind scene would be better). Maybe we even get a musical number with Star on this tree. It’s crazy how all they did was add ONE tree and yet the ENTIRE narrative shifts

    I don't really care for the idea of the humanoid star as a romantic interest, but I hate that this wasn't included in the movie. Although as far as I have seen there is not even a storyboard about the star thing, only the song and the idea itself as well as some drawings...Ah, no, he actually does appear in one.
    But seriously, Asha here has at least something that distinguishes her, even if it's minimal like the fact that she's somewhat foul-mouthed.

  • @M_JackOfAllTrades
    @M_JackOfAllTrades 3 месяца назад +3

    Aww, it's a bummer they didn't keep this. Unlike most people here, I actually enjoyed the final version of the movie for the most part. I prefer a Nintendo style nonverbal cute star character to a fantasy humanoid romantic interest, and a conflict between the evil king and the good queen to a villainous couple. But this? This is great, adding more heart and humor, giving that tree more significance... Now I wish (no pun intended) they had stuck with this storyline and included the entirety of this scene in the movie.
