Loved the California scenery, but was surprised by those skinny little cutts. Then Pyramid saves the day! Even if you've only got a short time to fish it. It's hard to get off that lake without nailing at least one of those big Lahontan cutthroat. I'm looking forward to the next episode. Happy birthday, Jordan! Stay safe, take care of yourself and the kids, and, of course, stay fishy.
You’re living the dream. Haven’t canned tuna in years and that sandwich made me hungry. Man I don’t know if I could just go there for 1 day so that’s dedication to your job. That lake can be really great. We had a 45 fish day across the water at Hells Kitchen the second camping trip there. I remember dropping the downrigger and my line came off thinking “great I dropped the line too fast” then boom it was a fish. Rest of the day we couldn’t keep the 17-20 inch fish off the line. I have fished there 3-4 different weekends only getting one fish over 24 inches and bending the hook on a 10-12 pounder jigging. Hammered spoons, U-20’s small hoochies behind flashers (any salmon gear actually) seems to be my go to. Had tough days there where a guide told me the fish were feeding high on the surface but all the boats would push them out or down. He used small rapala way the hell behind the boat. Idea is fish push out from boat then eventually come back on your line to get the lure.
Thank you for finally coming to my stomping grounds, though I tend to fish a bit south of Tahoe. It's absolutely gorgeous up there. Glad you and the kids had a great time, too. Can't wait to see more adventures.
Independence Lake just over the California border is a brood stock lake for Lahontan trout. The lake is rarely fished due to access. You should check it out next time.
What a cool start to the trip! Those burgers are amazing! Such a beautiful area! Klamath falls shout out love it! Born and raised there! Great area to be outside. Hope you made time to fish the Williamson! Great trout fishing! Where I learned to fish
Man, I love trolling in my old town PDL. Some of my best days fishing have been when I've had two rods in the water trolling high altitude lakes for lake trout and some of the cutthroat species we have here in CO. This video was very relatable for me lol.
WOW how often do you name the locale? Now I have to drive there from Portland Oree gone and be a invasive species!! Another great episode of Stay Jealous Adventures!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Oh and the whole reason I commented before telling my life story was to say those are Chuey chub a mainstay of the cutthroats diet. I bout a plug in Moss Landing that looked just like them but haven’t been back to try it.
Next time your up I live on Tahoe my kayaks on the beach, private marina and beach. I would like to see your techniques from the kayak. If you guys want to do some Tahoe fishing that’s my offer. Pyramid, Tahoe, Topaz tri fecta?
Lets go! being from washington I loko forward to every one of your videos! Any recs for a newer fisherman that typically fishes lakes? I live near seattle, about 2 hours.. IDK where to start lmao.. I just wanna find my lake/spot.. I just need help
You guys leave your fishing rods on the top of your truck guy you don’t have people steal your gear like I am in Ontario here. We are in Godrich Fish in the Maitland, which is on Lake Huron and they smashed out our truck window to take a few tackle bags and a handful of rods boat rods. I can’t believe you guys just leave them open like that.
Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't that the type of trout also in Lake Tahoe? I mention this because it just so happen to be camping right in-between Fallen Leaf Lake and Lake Tahoe with a geology class field trip, part of this class covers a mini lesson about the Kokanee salmon in Taylor Creek as a added bonus, anyhow, I'm really glad Jordan visits this gem of the Sierra Nevada, anyhow , sorry if i went off on this tangent, but i saw Jordan in an area i am near and i got excited 🎣
The sucker was a Tui Chub. They're what make the Lahotans monster size.
Trolling the sierras all you need is the gold and black broken back rapala with some pro cure!
