Oh James. I lost my father at the end of March this year and can relate to so much of what you said. I know you probably know more about grieving than I do, but I will say this. Just let the feelings come when they come. God bless you and your family.
Thanks for sharing, James. I will pray for you. I am a retired minister, too, so I know of which you speak. THANKS for teaching me about the world of fountain pens.
Prayers for your continued strength and healing as you navigate these changes, both the sad and the exciting. As some doors close, others open. May the memories of your dad sustain you. Best of luck to you and your wife as you both step into new adventures in learning! That's exciting! And you taking a break helps me stay within my pen spending limits! 😅
James, I am so sorry for your loss, and admire your strength when speaking about it. Both my husband and I enjoy watching your RUclips videos, take all the time that you need, we will be patiently waiting for you. Sending you love and hugs from the UK.
My condolences. I admire your stamina and I am jealous of your continued zeal. Good luck in your hopes and dreams. I look forward to your continued input which I value more than I can put into words. Best wishes.
You are in my prayers. In ministry, we try to comfort others even when we ourselves need to be comforted. Steadfast support of others’ faith while we are ourselves hurting is a sacred and privileged place to be, but also a trying place. A few months ago I presided and preached at my sister’s funeral Mass. I was a blathering emotional mess, and am still dealing with the grief. It takes time. Compared to life and love and death and ministry, fountain pens and videos don’t matter. Take the time you need. Do what grounds you and refreshes you. Don’t worry about us.
My heart goes out to you and your family. Please take care of yourself. I believe everyone here who watches fully understands how life can change things. It sounds like you have an incredible amount on your plate. I wish you the best going forward with all your new upcoming adventures. Thank you for your kindness.
The. Cycle of life invariably includes loss. Out of loss comes blessing because a life well live blesses forever. Congratulation to your wife on her courageous next phase. Best wishes to you and your family.
Condolences for your loss. I understand what you are going through. I've just uprooted my family to move in as carers for my parents - my mother has dementia, but my father has recently come home from hospital after a massive heart attack, and is in terminal decline. My love to you and all your family, James.
Hey, man. My heart goes out to you and your family. Thank you for sharing this video with us. I wish you the very best navigating through your grief and all that life throws at you.
I'm sorry. We all understand and take all the time you need. Plus going back to college is a lot as well. Also being a minister; that is a lot of responsibility. I'll be praying for you and look forward to any review you do.
So sorry to hear about your dad. I know how important your faith must be at this time. God bless you. Families are forever. I know you will see and be with your dad again. Big love. You and Doodlebud are my two favorite FP guys.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your father. I hope good memories help you during this challenging time. And, take whatever time you need to grieve. We’ll be here when you are ready. ❤
I know where you are at, James, having walked the same path with my father. The Lord bless and comfort you by his Holy Spirit, and help you to be stronger as the days and weeks go by. And God bless your teaching ministry at home and abroad.
I am so sorry, James, for your loss. I understand so well how grief can steal our time and energy. May the Lord give you His grace, peace and strength during this time of learning to deal with your "new normal". I will keep you in my prayers. 🙏🙏🙏
My heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Grief is oppressive. It takes people time to rebuild and continue on with your life. I am sure you have had the support from your family and congregation. I will be patient as will others.
Hello James! So sorry for the bad news. I thought you were on vacation… Thanks for keeping us up to date. I hope you can rest a little bit now after this ordeal. My deepest sympathy. Cheers. (I lost my father last year).
My condolences James. A few short weeks ago, my wife & I had to make a weekend trip to Florida where my youngest sister lives. We had gotten word that my brother-in-law was in the hospital. A long story short, he passed away. In his case it was somewhat of a blessing because he had lost himself due to early onset Frontotemporal dementia. He will be missed as they all are missed, but will be remembered for the life he lived. I take comfort in knowing he no longer has the concerns of the living world. As for coming back, take your time there is no need to rush. If no one else is, I will be here!!
Dude, we aren’t even mad that you took time. You should take more if you need it. Take care of yourself and your family. I would much rather see less content from you due to scheduling. Rather than seeing no content due to you being exhausted and overwhelmed. Things happen. I’m just glad you took time to give us a heads up. Take care dude. Don’t push yourself.
So sorry for your loss, please don't juggle too hard, it's okay to put the balls down or just drop them.... Best wishes to you and your wife as you return to school and teaching and please know we're always happy to hear from you, but make it on your terms and only when you are ready ❤️
All my love, prayers, and sympathy for your loss. I lost my Dad back on 8 Oct. 2005. He made it to exactly 70 years old on the 7th, and the Lord gently and peacefully took Him home at about 01:30. Thankfully, He finally relented and got saved just 10 days prior after 23 years of my witnessing and about 17 years of watching me, my wife, and 3 kids. PRAISE THE LORD! Thank you so much for all that you do for the fountain pen community, but especially for your heartfelt witness and service to The Lord Jesus Christ. God speed brother. 😊
My prayers are with you and your family in your loss. Take the time you need to heal and readjust to ALL the changes you and your family are going through. We'll enjoy your reviews as you're able to do, edit, and release them. Everyone's path is different, but I have some commonality, I am a minister and my Mom (last parent) passed 1-1/2 years ago. So special thoughts go your way.
From a retired pastor and fountain pen user (subscribed)... I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing, for your channel, for your testimony of faith. I care for my 90-year-old mother in her home now. My father and stepmother are both in their '90s, both just coming through the end of a bout with COVID. We don't know what we will hear from day to day but we trust the loving care of our heavenly Father. My parents are Christians. Grace and peace to you in Christ for both you and your wife.
I'm sorry for your loss. Never need to apologize. I lost my father in 2019 due to long term complications caused by Agent Orange. As an elder in my church, at least we both know where your dad really is. So grateful for the gospel. Sorry to be preachy, folks. ❤
So sorry for your loss - I'll keep you in my prayers. Looking forward to your Asvine review. I bought a vac filler Asvine from Amazon a few onths ago - it wrote very well but when I went to clean it after use it fell apart so I haven't been impressed with the quality of their pens.
From a total stranger but a fellow Texan, wishes for peace and healing. I've learned in recent years the joy of having a large extended family comes with the need to bear up under loss, and it also comes with a wonderful responsibility to carry good lessons forward. The former brings immediate pain. The latter, over time, brings meaning.
I am so sorry for your loss. Of course you needed to take time. This is about you and your family. I was a minister (now retired). I got up to preach three weeks after getting back from my Mom’s funeral, opened my mouth, and nothing came out. I closed my mouth, and right there, in front of God and everybody, the tears came. My congregation was the very best of Christian community. Purses flew open, Kleenex was offered, Hugs abounded. Some of my congregation said it was the best sermon I never preached. ❤ Anyway, may your faith community love you as well.
I’m so sorry for your loss and you take all the time you need. We will be here. We have been through the loss of parents, and their care. It truly is exhausting. God has your back and will give you peace and rest.
So sorry to hear of your loss. My deepest condolences. Hope you and the family are okay under these challenging circumstances? Take care and take time reflect on those good memories.
I'm deeply sorry to hear about your father's passing. Losing someone so important is incredibly difficult, and my thoughts are with you. I also want to wish you the best of luck with your master's degree.
We will be ok without you for a little bit. As long as you come back, of course. Glad you got to celebrate your father’s life. You will see him again when all of us who are in Christ meet in heaven. Thank you for taking the time to update us.
Thank you ALL for such kind, thoughtful responses and comments. It all means more than you'll know!
I’m so sorry, James. May his memory be a blessing.
Very sorry for your loss. Prayers and hugs for you and your family.
