Road Atlanta had some call that had people in an uproar. Let’s take a look and dissect what the drivers did and make some calls for ourselves. Авто/Мото

I think the ads at the top pushed everything down but Chelsea doesn't see that on his screen.
Matt spent all last year shutting down after minor collisions and winning battles.
Matt zeroed, made unnecessary contact with Adam, Adam had no boost and couldn't light off (probably why he is running NOS this Orlando event) after he got hit and let off throttle. Clutch kicking hard on that corner is a spin out for sure. I agree with Adam. He had to shut it down. A zeroed driver should not interfere with the lead driver.
Matt has a horseshoe up his ass I swear. Lol
I'm glad Adam and Matt are still homies after that controversy though. Both great dudes and look after eachother
Adam just got caught up in a new Anti-Flop rule that just like you're saying, comes from how many times Matt flopped last year! Seems like it might be kinda sketchy though. What's he supposed to do? Floor it and wreck?
Bro why do you care live your life and you will be so happy. I see the same kardashianisim with any entertainment lol y’all care about everyone’s life while you neglect your own and wonder why
@@smartiesnestle6679saying a call in sports or motorsports is kinda messed up doesn't mean you have a life. It means you have hobbies. Hobbies are necessary. If it was any other driver you wouldn't be comparing it to Kardashians... But since LZ is big on RUclips suddenly you don't have a life if you support him or don't support a wack call? You being worried about what other people are worried about seems like you don't have a life... Especially if you're at all concerned enough to comment about someone's online decision or comment. Tryna sound high and mighty while proving you do the same shit.
I’m actually surprised LZ shut it down, he’s usually gonna finish the run no matter what.
@@smartiesnestle6679it’s his opinion on a call. Why are you watching Chelsea instead of being out making something of yourself?
This video not only teaches competitive drifting analysis, but also healthy marital conversation techniques
well said, agreed!

47:29 “Matt’s gonna come over and say hi to the fans real quick” 🤣🤣🤣
In a case where one lead and one chase are zero'd out, it should be an automatic OMT. Judging a lead to a chase is the dumbest thing ever.
They're trying to only OMT good driving this year. Eg: two awesome runs, both drivers did amazing, they can't decide between them, rather than giving garbage runs where guys mess up extra event time. The judges don't want bad driving taking up most of the days event.
But.... I definitely see your point lol
Matt zero’d no matter what! There for didn’t matter that lz shut it down in that run. The judging is so bad.
I think in drift masters it's who ever zero'd first loses, if it's his own fault. I think FD should have same rule since there's no OMTs in seeding. simply if you zero you lose, and anything that happens in that run after is irrelevant.
@@rickrussell579 I definitely understand that, but they also need to understand that FD has a small audience and when they constantly make stupid decisions off of stupid rules, they chance more people being turned off of the sport.
@@rickrussell579 This is not how judging should be. At that point remove the judges and be radars and lidars at clipping points and outside zones and calculate speed, angle and position and compute a score. Ain't not way you're getting a OMT now.
32:37 Chelsea you talking about low angle reminds me of that time you chucked the car completely backwards at ATL during qualifying. No low angle for 88
Just FYI Robbie sees the second run the same way as other judges, he just gave OMT because you can’t really compare a lead to a chase
If you want to see Matts true entry, look at his bye run... its just like any other drivers. I honestly think his big swing is to play mind games and sort of brake check the chase driver.
Also there is a split second of Forest putting his hand up, good spot by Chelshe
Lol bro had the mouse in the wrong area 😭
Super glad Chelsea made this video, because thats just like Justin Pawlak and Vaughn years ago, the famous monster truck Mustang on road Atlantas entry, of Vaughn Climbing Pawlaks car or someone i forget, it may have been Tyler Mcqaurrie . Vaughn had multiple run ins with Pawlak the year before or something where theh would shut it down after being bumped in the door, it got so bad that I remember later that year A mustange climbed another car at Atlanta.. I cant find it but it went against the spirit of drifting, a door bump or false rear bumper gets crinkled they shut it down everytime, maybe Forsberg, but they ended up plowing into eachother and the judges had to rewrite the rules lol
They didn't give adam folt because him not getting back on they didn't say anything about that until adam did his interview.. once they seen the interview they used it as the excuse
Yes they did. If you cared enough to watch the explanation video or read any of the judges comments, you’d know that
@@calebcaton773 you're wasting your time with these guys they don't care about the truth or the rules they just want their favorite guy to win
@@calebcaton773That is after the fact. That’s pretty much his point lol.
They used what Adam said as a scapegoat.
@@calebcaton773long story short Matt was out so he crashed into Adam. Based on video evidence I don't think Adam could've continued drifting after the hit. I don't think Adam was taking a dive and I don't think his car malfunctioned. Adam's car could not continue in drift directly due to the hit. And no I'm not a subscriber of Adam's channel and I don't like BMW. Lol. I subscribe to Matt, Chelsea and Vaughn. I like Vette, Mustang, most Nissan & Supra.
@@tomjones5974 Oh come on! Adam said he chose to shut it down rather than try to save it. He explained it quite well in his video. He said he knew he could have lit it up and tried to power out but figured it was not worth it because of the complexity of that corner and the possibility that it would still spin. But he literally acknowledged that trying to save it was an option.
Wanted to share that you can press "period" and "comma" to go frame by frame on RUclips. keep up the great content!
These breakdowns are so validating bc some of the calls live boggle my mind, so it’s nice to know I’m not the only one confused. Also, I’m in Chelshe’s camp about the cursor
Love having Chelsea x2 on the dissect. I appreciate the hot take. I just came off Adam's video but with the detail of what they said in the drivers meeting... that kind of changes things. Still a rough call
Just like Chelsea said, if you watch Adam's in car angle he has one hand on the wheel at the hit, kind of flails and I believe he is being truthful that he would have driven off the track after that point. Hard to judge but removing someone's bumper is not unusual in FD.
The bumper being ripped off isn't really a big deal. He hit the rear bars hard enough to stop the car from rotating. That's what matters.
now i have something to watch before seeding 16
I think Adam said in his video that he would've spun if he fired off in that situation so he let off instead.
Just by looking at the way the car reacted and it’s heading I thought the same thing before reading this.
His major concern was the wall. If he tried to light off he would have flown way off track
Watch the incar of Adam.
where you finding this video on adams channel i cant find it
Love the whose line is it anyway reference😂
I would recommend FD putting in-car cams in all cars. If you see Adams in-car footage, matt being stuck in him on the transition, loaded up the pendulum effect, so when the cars separated, his back end wanted to pass him out. It's controversial to promote damage, and damaging cars in the spirit of "entertainment". Matt field has done exactly what Adam did and shut down in the past when he was hit from behind. Old rules Adam would have won, new rules, Adam looses, that's turds man. I agree a OMT was the best outcome, but the judges don't want OMT's, because it "takes too long" 🙄
Odi didn't have to finish the lap because the lead driver had already gone off track. Chase driver doesn't need to complete after the lead zeros.
I just learned more about FD judging than anyone has ever taught me. Good insights 😎
Adam said that he shut it down because hes running a front mount radiator, and if he had stayed in it, he would have spun around, possibly resulting in Field smashing his rad, ending his event anyways..
if a broken rad takes him out of the event then the hit was the least of his issues
@@plumppandaaIt would crush allot of the rad supports, the radiator itself and likely the Intercooler too. There likely isn’t time to replace all of that between rounds
Yup, Matt pushed Adam's rear too far around causing the steering to lock. You can see Adam's bumper gets thrown off and steering locks. In car footage shows steering wheel ripped from Adam's hands as Matt hits him. He grabs the steering wheel but it doesn't move. So like you said if he stayed on throttle the car would've instantly 180'ed causing a crash.
So he choose to lose to avoid breaking his car that would have maybe, maybe, end his event? Weird call... If he doesn't want to compete, maybe he should retire from FD and Drift Master.
He chose to shut it down, hoping to save his car, while also hoping that the judges would find Field at fault
Love the overview of the events.
A little sneaky jab from Chelsea in the Olsen run replay " I wasn't listening, he's not a judge"
Lmao I’m dead. I feel lady chels. The ROTA reference was mad funny because in formula one, the circuit of americas is referred to COTA (coat-uh) and I always thought that was the name of the track for over a year before I realized what it stood for
Also. I fw the 2007 camera vibes and that you don’t really care too much on edits. But cmon chels. You could snag a decent cam n mic from Lz for free
Waiting till you were in paddock at FD ORL to post. Smart. Lol.
James is nasty in that mustang bro! I enjoy watching him drive so much
Love these breakdowns! Keep em coming!
I agree with girl Chelsea 100% on the Adam and Matt thing, but yeah FD is the only drift series I choose not to watch
In conclusion. Drifting in spirit, is not about exploiting rules and finding your own personal narrative in a technicality. Adam's shut down was in fact a flop. However, in the spirit of the sport, both drivers did Zero, and therefore, was left in the judge's hands to give a decision from the first half of the run. Not ideal for anyone, but there had to be a decision. Ideally, it should have gone OMT. This was a great take on the battle. Maybe one day you'll decide to become a judge.
I think their new trip on trying to cut way down on OMTs has consequences
Not a problem in Japan.
Honestly, LOVE the fair and straightforward analysis of all the runs! Y'all definitely know how to do your stuff. But yeah… like what others are mentioning in the comments, I think you guys missed out on some rule changes this year that could've made the LZ vs Field analysis more accurate to the current state of affairs in 2024.
With that said, PLEASE keep doing these videos! It's really awesome to see these "driver's takes" on the competition and it brings into perspective what the average fan may not see at first glance when watching.
Thank you Chelsea and Chelshe for taking time out of y'all's day to do this 🤙🏽. We appreciate it, for sure 🙏🏽
The rule book is beyond broken if you can say this is in the rule book because when a zero happens the run is no longer green for whoever zeros and their run has ended when the zero happens so the fact that the hit is even in discussion for who wins or not is beyond delusional and goes against all logic of having the straightening rule because now everyone will go run down the lead driver if the chase driver zeros
True to an extent.....the lead driver is still required to finish the run regardless if the chase driver zeros or shuts it down.
@@TheRealMrRoyalyea, but if the chase driver zero’s out, they can take out the lead driver and win? Doesnt make sense.
Driving straight isn't an instant zero under the new rules this year
Was waiting for this one 👀
😂
Since you didn't mention it, the judges were talking about a directive to NOT OMT bad runs - they want OMT only for good runs that are too close to pick
I also agree. All the battle aren’t great tho.
I think the LZ/Field run was for sure at least a OMT Also if LZ is at full lock due to the impact if he continued he would have spun or or had to straighten and reinitiate so I don't think continuing in this situation changes anything. just my thoughts.
I agree with Chelshe... Matt should have stopped after that huge straightening. The hit, regardless of severity, should have been deemed Matt's fault because he had already 0'd out and should not have been a factor at that point in the run. I think that this was one of those fluke things where Matt was able to get back into the chase, which normally doesn't happen after someone messes up that bad. I would say the rules should say that if a driver incompletes in the chase, any contact after that point should be their fault.
This is the best series out there on youtube
Definitely not Adam's fault. I'm not even a subscriber of Adam. Lol. Matt was out and then crashed into Adam.
FYI for the future, Comma and period let you go frame by frame on a paused YT video, on windows at least.
I'm glad someone else commented on Rome's poor car being mangled every event hahaha, I feel for the sponsors on his bumpers.
You guys are the best couple. Glad y’all did this one together
Adam should have got the win. If you take both runs up until the contact who won, Adam!
Love the 4k content man keep it up !
Also I'm 100% on your side of opinion for all the ''drama'' battle , even before seeing this.. I think a lot of people are starting to watch this sport (which is really awesome!) But Don't really understand it properly yet and do some favoritism while watching, And that's okai cause its like any other sports and that show interest !
Anyway can't wait to see you rage in the Porshe man take care.
I've been waiting for this
Couldnt wait for this dissect. FD judges r bunch of inconsistent calls
This is better than watching it regularly
Love this videos!
Chelsea is the best judge and drifter!!!
16:13 😂 Adam flopped like an NBA player and lost 🤣
This was fun. You guys are out of control. Hahaha.
The collision didn’t look at bad on this replays until you watch Adam’s video on his POV, Matt tapped the car, stopped Adam’s rotation then after contact it unloaded the car so where he was turning and if he didn’t let off the throttle it looked like he would have spun out
18:48
I think if there is a contentious double zero as seen here the zeros run should automatically be a do-over
We need honest and logical refereeing within the rules of drift. I like the logic he's talking about, I totally agree, Chelsea DeNofa. Thanks
Adam explained it in his video, the impact messed up his car rotation and didn’t self steer to fire off. He would’ve spun and probably get rammed by Matt. Now losses the battle and a damage front rad mount car.
Totally agree with the analysis given on the lz v field run...however Matt continues to drift and CAUSES Adam to shut down his lead run...Adam didn't shut it down due to mistake or mechanical.
This I think is where everyone is pissed with the decision made.
Chase driver knowingly 0s and then drives flat out to cause the lead to make a mistake is pure bullshit..
Great show guys big fan
This really polarizes how much 5 minutes of deliberation and a driver does for judging.
What does fault determine? I've read the rule book a few times and have no clue why fault is assigned. As a view is nice to know who caused a crash in the judges eyes, but it doesn't seem to play any role in deciding a winner. Thanks for making these videos I don't drive so it's extremely nice to hear an experienced drivers perspective
Still blows my mind that FD doesn't invest in in car camera's - literal in car footage can tell you everything you need to know about situations like this.
My favorite is Ryan Sage saying they don't have the resources or staff to be able to add in car cameras. GoPro is literally a sponsor and DMEC seems to manage it just fine.
@@ireeeebzsimple solution, FD is lazy and care more about the bottom line than providing a quality product.
They will learn you won't have a bottom line when the product is gone.
@@ireeeebz It just seems super sus, and don't even get me started on the shitty lights on the windshield, they are so delayed showing them on / off the gas they literally shouldn't be used lol. In-car footage would change FD judging forever. No more favorites.
Adam started to over rotate after the hit. He would have spun if he kept his foot in due to lighting off just before the transition as he would have timed straight after shifting gear.
Adam stopped the 'full' rotation and hoped the judges had seen, from a drivers point of view, what happened.
I saw the opposite drift by Matt too and was confused the judges didnt.
I think its rad that yall do these together. I havent followed your relationship or these videos, I have no clue what Chelshe knew before yall started dating but if she learned all this just because youre into it, that makes it even cooler. Not many people have a wife or girlfriend who can actually do a breakdown of a sport or hobby their husband is into. Especially this competently. Yall really fit together nicely! And being able to share something like that must be cool. Also I appreciate you always being honest, regardless of who youre better friends with. But it still feels like the LZ call wasnt the right one to make. Especially since Field had already zeroed. I feel like maybe theyre biased since LZ isnt doing the full season but Ive always thought the judges had favorites and let them slide. The problem is, even if they reviewed it afterwards and decided it was a bad call there isnt a way to change that call .. only do better in the future. Of course everyone is there to win, especially with how expensive professional drifting is, but playing dirty or having favorites is wack and shows why klutch kickers, the lz world tour and stuff like that is becoming more popular. Seems like your goal should always be to do a clean run, as close to a 100 as you can and then judge follow for follow. But so many drivers play weird games in their leads. And none of that matters when the judges seem to sorta just makeup rules as they go to fit whatever driver they support or weird call they made.
This queen and king matches so good an have arguments that each respect and even i have to go back to be completely sure , great vidéo great couple great time! Keep it up each event im watching you lady's and guy ;) love you both !
I mean Field drives straight for ages and then counter drifts and still feel the need to push so hard that he hits LZ. Doesn't make any sense to me at all... Why push it when you know you messed up that bad
Going of of what Mrs. Chelsea said the fact that Field knows he zeroed and just hopes the judges didn't catch it makes Field dishonest to a point.. me I would of slowed still put on a show but not try to win when I clearly lost...
He's a dirty ass driver. He loves crashing into people.
That’s exactly why you push that hard. Nothing to lose and your only hope is that you can cause the lead driver to make a mistake by pressuring them
Driving straight isn't an instant zero under the new rules this year
@@fitch9782 No, but he didnt just drive straight.
been waiting for this lol
Not gonna lie, I think Chelsea and Chelsea's perspectives sort of gives me a new perspective on ATL and a fresh outlook on Orlando today.
My question about Romes runs is how far into a corner is contact acceptable? He had to be 20ft past the inner clip on the 2nd contact
Just got the shirt
Please keep doing these videos bro
Hey correct me if I'm wrong but it happened with the Odi-Rome battle. If the lead driver 00's (Rome) the chase driver isn't required to complete the run AT ATLANTA because of the keyhole.
57:14 Odi does not need to finish the lap as the chase driver. When the lead zeroes, the run is over. It does not matter if Odi goes four off or runs a 100 point run after Rome went straight, judges are only looking at the contact and who's at fault for the zero in the lead.
I felt like Chelsea should’ve known that already
the xtra steer from Rome in entry looks like him reacting to the rear tap from Odi
I disagree he already did that movement
@@chelseadenofa fair enough, thanks for reply.
Am I high or is that pointer nowhere near the track?
I’m a little unclear on the rule change but I was under the impression a straightening under a certain amount of time is not a zero just a major deduction.
I think the car being front rad also has a small part to play in this too. Adam said he felt that car would've fully spun, running the risk of trashing the front end. Saving the car cost him in this case.
I agree adam should have continued but from his side saying he's at full lock and essentially knowing he will over row. Is it really worth the risk of damage or possible injury from spinning and getting run over by the most dangerous corvette?
Hey this is a long shot but do you remember an fd battle where you put down a heater lead and spun out after the finish line? I've been trying to find it on youtube to show a friend. Might have been osw or stl. Somewhere where the run ends in a sweeper
Adam said in his own video the he had to correct his steering after the bump and was full lock and couldn't power out without loosing control and spinning out.. watching the video over and over i can see he full lock at a decent angle.
What would have happened if adam ended staying on the power and spinning out?
Chelsea you should make OMT t shirts.
MOVE THAT MOUSE 😂🤣
Yay Denofa 🎉
Petition here for DeNofa to be a judge -
one thing to correct you said odi zero'd at the end of his chase against rome but since rome was leading Odi didnt have to finish his run. Thats why he won
With the new rules. The OMT is only for good driving. This isn’t a OMT run. But they are supposed to reward good driving and ignore mistakes. Which they did in pro spec. I forgot the driver but he spun coming out of IC3. But still got the win because it was an over all better run. And if they would have did that for Adam. He should have gotten the win.
Good Job Bringing This To Light
#justiceforadam
whats up with so many of the inertia lights not working
If not a OMT I would have judged both runs only up to the point where Matt straightened, that way it's just proximity talk and easier to judge
We should just put previous fd drivers in the roll as judges would fix 80/90% of the bs calls made. The judges are so inconsistent.
Whats the likelihood of FD getting telemetry from cars? In this case, they could have had accelerometer data and steering angle from Matt's car when he steered opposite drift. Zero. I feel like streaming telemetry, which isn't hard to do especially on a drift course.
Adam explained that he has a front radiator car thats why he did not continue because if he spins he would potentially damage the car.
Chealsea what about what the rule says 4.3.2. CHASE DRIVER INCOMPLETES:
• If the Chase driver Incompletes the chase will receive an Incomplete for that run, however the
Lead driver must continue the finish the course to receive a completed and judged run because
he is UNOBSTRUCTED and NOT AFFECTED by the Chase who Incompleted behind him, independently
of any other factors.unobstructed
The only thing I don’t agree with is when Adam got hit I think if he would have fired off how he was going to he would have definitely spun plus cause a lot of unnecessary damage to the front of his car
in the odi v rome thing once rome zeros in the lead the run is over so odi didn't have to finish
Wish you watched Vaughn versus Dean too.
Iirc, Rome's car was damaged already and the wheel was taken from his hand after the second contact, and he couldn't continue on, I believe he posted in car of it
The only problem with him keeping going is the car is still a front mount rad car so u spin n get get in the front whatsoever ur leaving coolant all over the track
I don't know the rules 100%, but I feel like it should have been OMT for LZ & Field, just based on the previous round with James Deane, I forgot who was chasing him, but he messed up and then Deane straightened later in the track. So in this run, did the judges not treat Fields straighten as a fault?
Iirc odi hit rome twice on entry, and after the second hit when he tried to catch it it gripped up and straightened, but i could be wrong on that. But bits flying off the lead car can easily be seen as the cause of the accident anyways. poor car got hammered that event.
20:53 would it meet the 85 point run threshold to qualify for a OMT?
I mean I respect the shut down to save the car by Adam being a front radiator car and all the events he has to have it at especially after seeing the in car footage
Oh yeah, waiting for this one since the beggining of that trash round 😆
The most beautiful drift couple ! 🫶
Also Chelshe opinion is on point.
