For the Talon (two or four seater), the FIRST things you need (in this order) are: 1. 10-80 Dirt Sports pre-filter kit (or similar). Without this, you're sucking raw dirt right into your OEM air filter, turning its lifespan into about 400 miles per filter. 2. Full length 1/2" UHWM skid plate set and trailing arm guards 3. Windshield 4. Mudbusters or other extended fender flares 5. Winch The above are MUST haves. Everything else is just convenience.
I love your content, however just a tip from one RUclipsr to another......Hold your phone Horizontal instead of vertical while shooting your video....You will then have a full screen..I love my Talon, great machine.........Good video man!!
Actually, he needs to hold it sideways so the video is NOT vertical. Vertical video is quite annoying. Awesome video, though! I can’t wait to buy a side by side (either a Pioneer or a Talon). 😃
Craig Hansen I Over complicated my secondary battery install Even videoing it would still be tough trying to explain exactly how I wired it I used Wiring components From a Quantum Q6 power chair I installed a lot of stuff that wasn’t really necessary. I installed some Quick connect battery connectors that would be used with a quantum Q6 motor assembly They have thermal coupling automatic reset fuses I figured I would just confuse people since I didn’t use a actual store bought kit I scavenged individual components for mine It’s definitely one of a kind
Craig Hansen A secondary battery installation Is done basically The same way it would be done on Pioneer or even a Polaris RZR You can also find wiring diagrams through Google Only thing that’s really different is Where the battery is located If you order the battery isolator kit it comes with a simple Wiring diagram
Matthew Milam nice setup not overly complicated. Did you use the cable provided for the winch to connect your auxiliary battery? How did you connected your winch power to the new battery?
Matthew Milam I looked it up and not too complicated but an ingenious use of the Q6 wiring. My hat goes off to you. If you used the oem cable for the winch to connect the auxiliary battery, what connections did you use for your winch cable?
Matthew Milam, hey did you notice by putting on the front windshield and/or the rear window, that it increased the amount of dust swirling or dust being sucked into the cab?
Hey man just curious, I’m interested in the six shooter and a dual battery set up. I imagine you ran your stick winch cable into the isolator? Did you run your winch into the six shooter or did you hook it up somewhere else? Just curious if I’m that set up am I going to lose two “Switches” to winch and radio or would I have other options. This is my first time setting a UTV up, any help is appreciated!
Six shooter? I don’t understand what you mean by six shooter a six shooter is usually a revolver hand gun. Do you mean the Trigger accessory controller ?
Matthew Milam yeah man sorry for the confusion. I bought the same Trigger controller but it’s the six switch option, the “six shooter”, lol My question is you have your dual battery run off the winch cables that came preinstalled, where did you run your winch to? Is it run to the trigger controller or did you run it off the second battery or something? This is my first time hooking up SXS accessories like this, I’m running everything else to that controller just didn’t know if I should do the same with the winch, or run it somewhere else and save the switch.
Corey Collins OK yeah I see what you’re saying now. Yes I did run the second battery through the Pre-ran winch wires What I did was bought a heavy duty amplifier fuse block That uses the big automotive fuses and ran the positive Winch wire Into that Then put the wire going to the winch into the fuse box along with the second battery it had 4 slots On the fuse block I ran a Third wire to the Trigger accessory controller from the fuse block I wouldn’t recommend running the winch from the Trigger controller I would think that would be too much of a load on one Relay There’s a good possibility you could burn out the printed circuit If you’re trying to pull too much It does have relays in the Trigger but power does have to pass through a printed circuit before it reaches the fuse.
nitrotmann I would like to make a list but its tax season I’m so busy with Business paperwork I just don’t have time. You can Google all of those parts and find them very easily or get on the Talon OG Group on Facebook I’m on there and we can help you with any questions you may have.
Philip Stephan Yeah the rear corner bag should fit a Hooded sweatshirt I use them for tow straps and Ratchet straps and I have a small compressor I put in there
Sean Cummings Well that’s a little complicated I didn’t use the stuff that come with the winch I used a warn Wireless remote relay And used a bunch of parts from a quantum Q6 Mobility power chair I can’t really explain and if I hadn’t made a video it would’ve been so confusing nobody would have been able to make heads or tails Simply I wanted both wireless remote and wired remote and I wanted the winch secondary battery basically everything quick disconnect with heavy duty industrial Connectors but the way I did it was overly complicated.
All you have to do is google Trigger accessory controller You can purchase it on eBay or Amazon They are available through nearly every online retailer
You dont want a stiff thick bumper because it will bend the frame if you hit something lol let the bumper bend not your frame... also its a bumper how many things have you ran over lol bumpers are made to scratch
Tyler Harty I haven’t ran over anything with this Lol Because it wouldn’t hold up I ran over everything with my Arctic cat I built a brush guard for that thing it was ugly but it was a tank
You say that the odyssey battery is a very good battery.... sir you are wrong. That is the best battery you can buy they are manufactured in warrensburg mo with the best parts and I can promise you they will out proform any other battery out there. There is a reason enersys supplies the entire military with batteries. Enjoy!
Great point on the A-arm protection!

Love the beer cans 👌👍
get a frame stiffner for the front if you hit something the frame will bend right behind the lower a-arm
I like to see how you have your 2 way radio mounted below your rear view mirror.
Im interested in installing the axillary battery could you show a video of the wiring and any connections you made, it would be appreciated.

Matthew Milam, hey did you notice by putting on the front windshield and/or the rear window, that it increased the amount of dust swirling or dust being sucked into the cab?
stuffingf Yes it definitely increased the amount of dust getting brought inside the machine it became even worse with the lower doors
Matthew Milam , thank you for your quick reply! You probably didn’t ever figure out a way to reduce in cab dust while still using a windshield?
Trump sticker is the best accessory on your Talon
