By the time I finished burning my way though China and India, the whole of europe had fallen to the reformation. What is a horde to do but burn their way back across the HRE, France and Spain? It really is enjoyable watching you make risky plays with zero manpower.

Good job as always ! Regarding the ending, you could have released Hungary from any of bender, bessarabia, birlad, iasi and suceava. You can release a subject if that nation is of the same culture group as at least one of your owned province where it has a core on. And by extension, you could have also released Bohemia with any silesian's area province. Would have made two very strongs subject on your left flank, whereas Bulgaria and Byzantine don't quite make the cut right now due to low dev && lack of provinces. (And they feel like prime integration target, since your south flank will be all memeluks after 2/3 ottobro wars)
one of my favourite things I ever did as the teutons was going divine/espi/offensive. This nets you all the siege ability in the world. The Divine/Espi policy has since been changed, it used to be 20% siege ability, but now it's only 10%, with +1 artillery level contributions. This means that every artillery unit counts as 2 for calculating the siege ticks, which is nice.

talking of austria breaking their alliance.. im sure the game ai does annoying things on purpose to screw the player i allied austria... austria lost hre emeperor to wurzberg.. i allied wurzberg... austria re got hre emperor.. then poland allied muscovy... dont think ive ever seen that happen before... i was playing a scandinavian norse nation.. so it basically screwed me as i was surrounded with no way to expand
talking of black flagging people by accident.. im sure the ai screws the player over on purpose with blackflagging our units.. burgundy called me into 2 wars i help him.. take one fort, head to the next hre opm, and before i can get there they peace out the one i just finished, so it black flags my unit and i cant reach the next nation.. thereby meaning i have to walk back.. not just to burgundy, cos NO.. that would be too simple... of course i stay black flagged even when i get to my allys land.. no.. i have to walk back to my land in scandinavia and then ship my unit back again.. so in the end i just dont bother helping them in wars..
