The other gang members like Arthur and Hosea mention how they thought it was so out of character for Dutch so they just chalked it up to being necessary but deep down they knew it wasn’t. Even in Red dead 1 Dutch and John meet each other again on the 2nd floor of that building in Blackwater where Dutch shots another innocent girl, imo that was a way to show that Dutch hasn’t really changed at all that was always who he was just hiding behind the facade of Robin Hood type outlaws but he really just enjoyed the power and control he had leading the gang committing countless vile crimes.

the gangs biggest mistake was allowing Micah to stay, Dutch allowing him to get in his ear. 2nd biggest mistake was allowing Strauss into the gang in the first place, the way he operates is the exact opposite of how the gang seemingly operates before the start of the gang.
This game is too good to be true. All the grief of the characters deaths like Hosea and Lenny is so good it could be made into a movie. My favourite game of all time and always will be.
The fact that even with all of those pre made blueprint Work from Rockstar, if Hollywood attempted to make a RDR Movie, they'll still some how manage to fvck it up. Starting with the Casting alone.

It was probably the death that had the biggest effect on Arthur I know Hosea was a father figure to Arthur but Lenny, Arthur took him under his wing he felt like he had a responsibility for him you see this on the optional coach robbery with him Arthur acts like a mentor teaching him to watch out for fake tips
Lenny's death caught me completely off guard. My son had given me some unwanted "spoilers" and among the real ones he said Lenny never dies. With Hosea's dramatic death, I didn't expect a second one in the same mission. My son also told me Sean dies in a bank robbery, so getting his head blown off in Rhodes was quite the shock too.

The biggest mistake was the rest of the gang not seeing that Micah was bad news even when Hosea and Arthur were telling them constantly. And then this.
Micah and the Blackwater job were the biggest mistakes. Those two, set Dutch down the path of self destruction and started the cracks in the foundation of the gang. Hosea and Lenny's death, sent Dutch over the edge and his decisions after fractured the group beyond repair.
The bank job could have been successful if they hadn’t attempted the train station job beforehand and alerted the Pinkerton. Or if they didn’t shoot their way out of the ferry job and just ran it as a scam with their bought off dealer.
I was hoping you'd show Lenny's death, and not only you did, but gave it the proper cinematic cutscene treatment that the game didn't (for some reason) 10/10
What destroyed the gang was Dutches ego, letting Micah reassure him of his delusions and making him feel like a wise god for his foolish ideas, instead of listening to the men who were with him from the start and actually cared about him. Dutch was unable to take criticism and admit he was wrong, and that made Micah a powerful poison
watching Hosea, one of the only people in the plot I resonate with, die.. I’ve never felt that level of pain in a video game before. (except for Arthur and John’s Death ofc)
Just shows how much of a knife’s edge even the best of outlaws live on. Every mission can be your last. I like that they depicted the risk realistically.
