Thank you so much for your teaching, sir. I'm a civil engineer from Burma (Myanmar). Due to my country's conditions, it's not easy for me to access quality education for my career to advance. I have been learning MS Project and Construction Management from your videos and I cannot express how helpful they are for me.
Hi Susandytun, Thank you so much for the kind words. I’m really happy that the videos are helping you to learn and advance. Keep learning and you will build great skills over time, All the best! Tom
Dear Mr.Tom - Cost and work can not be calculated together when the both of them assigned on same Task. For example (On Task A assigned 1 contractor with cost $1000$ (This Cost is prorated) and one PM as a Type Work with $ 10 hr. project duration is 8 day, therefore actual cost in case 100% done must be $640 for PM and $ 1000 for contractor 1. when I want to see cost sheet I find that actual cost for this contractor still remained as a remaining cost. this is unsolved issue for me till now. Duration 8 Day - 100% Done Total Cost Baseline cost Actual Cost Remaining $1,640.00 $1,640.00 $ 640.00 $1000.00 Same happens on Earned Value spreadsheet As I understand Work and Cost can not be assailed together in a one Task. They are not calculated correctly when I need compare the Actual and Remaining costs.
Usually not used that much but if you have an indirect cost that you wish to add then that is a good use for it. Problem is it dies not associated with anything specific so hard to track.
Hello professor, I update my schedule every day once rough in’s start and continue up till occupancy. I have to as I run a 1 day = 4 units complete, from our trade partners. Would you have any advise on how to keep track of all the updates?
Hi Jonathan, I would probably have to drill down with questions but here goes. I would if I want to be able to later identify really specific bottlenecks and delays save the file with a different name using the file naming process in my videos. Now if you don’t need it that specific then weekly is fine you can update daily and at the end of the week save the file using a different name using the protocols the will be nicely organized if you ever need to go back.

Should the notes on changed tasked during recovery be dated?
Yes that is an excellent practice
