This is, hands down, the very best tutorial on how to match ambient color. I was lost, even after looking at several videos and reading some articles. No more! Thank you!!!
the ambient color thing is so cool, never heard that one before but i tried it on a photo and it works. i know it feels like all these neural filters and ai are replacing a lot of these things but after working with (wrestling with) ai photocompositing for a month or so sadly its not close to a professional level. its really still novelty level right now--generative fill screws up the shadow and perspective more times than not, and shows seams and weird blurriness issues--so a lot of the old ways are still best if you're wanting something that doesnt look bad when you zoom in. thanks for the tips!
Awesome! This one really deserves a big fat like! Well, it's not like your other videos don't deserve it too, but this one is like 7 tutorials in one. Great job, thanks for sharing your techniques!! Take care and stay safe 😎👍
I was amazed by the creativity combined with deep technical expertise of the highlights technique (the first one). The lighting work with the astronaut wizardry as well!
Fantastic tutorial Jesús... the matching ambient colour tip is a game changer for my composites... always struggled with matching the colours for various elements. 👌🏻👍🏼
Jesus, I thought that I knew Photoshop..... Damn.... how did you get to this level, I've been working with photoshop for 20 years. You make me look like a highschool student. Cudos to you.
working with the same software for 20 years doesnt automatically make you an expert if you do the same shit over and over again without improving your skills by learning new stuff. the stuff he teaches is literally basic knowledge any graphic designer should already know during the first year of working with photoshop. you simply suck at your job.
You r truly talented ..what a voice and what a speech.. !!! Describe easily. .. teaching method is so clear..no additional words.. watching ur video is like a perfect utilization of time.. thank u so much.
Hey Jesús Ramirez all your sharing is amazing, I really appreciate what you have shared and your patience like and reply to everyone's comments. your videos make me not want to miss any of your videos. thank you nice guy.
Hey. I just by coincidence found your channel. I am an After Effects professional and also a VFX supervisor! I love the professional quality you bring to it and most of it is also adoptive to film and movie shots! Having that said, I am pretty curious on how you created the "flying girl in Dubai" especially the blue energy fx. Is there a similar tutorial out there from you? Or even something on that specific picture? Again tahnks a lot for sharing your content!
WOW! I learnt quite a bit from this video, many thanks my friend!!! I don't do that much composition as I usually work with 3D models in Daz Studio where I can pretty much create a whole scene as if it were a photo shoot. I then import my finished render into Photoshop for any post work that needs to be done of just add some effects that I can't do in Daz. I'll give these tips a go as I'm always trying to improve my artwork.
Jesus i owe you a massive thank you I've been using Ps for 6months but have made some exciting inroads thanks to your great advice its awesome to watch someone that has Masterd a program do there thing! I literally started my first composte today, timing my friend!
for the color matching part does that work for layers more than one if I photobashed a scene or environment and most of my photo references were took in the day time but I wanted a night sky or sunset as the overall mood for the composite would I have to do that method for each layer or just do the method once to where it will affect them all??
hey for not so long ago i stopped subscribing to your channel because i was so sad i didn't have the app:( but today i finally got it and subscriped again because i love your tutorials!! thank you so much!!!
Thank you so so much for this very complete and very useful tutorial. There is a lot of interesting and very concrete techniques here, and I swear I will be very able to use it very soon in my work to create better works 😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.
Thanks for all the time and effort you put into these videos that you share freely. Your videos are very helpful, even for pros refreshing or enhancing skills!
That vanishing point matching was a cool tip. Also adjusting the colors with selective color seems a LOT easier than using curves or HSL. But dude, was there a train to catch? The video sounds like it's played on 1.25 speed and you almost seem out of breath at the end..
so many people out there are teaching photoshop, but i only understand it from you. thank you so much for making it easy!

For highlight why dont use adjustment layer exposure and make negative then masking out. What's the difference?
Rim Light was awesome and was good to see another way for color matching I always use curves to match color I will try to use selective color as well.
