Sweet!! And btw i really appreciate these adventures Shaun. Im a newbie at overlanding but i def am afraid of heights and without you i would never be able to experience these places. Im ok with knowing my limits but its still great to see these places you otherwise wouldnt see
You probably don't remember me. But back on New Years Eve in 2020 I came on your live stream as your first guest. I told you that my wife agreed with me to get my dream off road truck. 2.5 years later I finally got my dream truck! 2018 Colorado ZR2. Great content as always!
The International Boundary Commission works hard to keep the boundary line clear and distinguishable. So envious of the trips you guys are able to make. Keep it up!
9:27 8, a little rough on the take off, 9:30 10, perfect form, 9:33 10, perfect landing. 9:45 15 the perfect cannonball. 14:09 I do believe that is the Flathead Border crossing. 24:43 You know that feeling when you step back in time: I know that fire lookout, my uncle Ted (my father's youngest brother (RIP) Worked as a Fire Lookout from the mid 60s to the mid 70s, before we packed up and moved both families to Vancouver Island in 77. If my memory is correct (and I'll check with Pop) Teddy worked at this tower in the Summer of 74/75.. THANK YOU! Shaun for taking this old man down memory lane.
You need to stockpile like 50+ videos like this one to release in the winter lol. This is life right here to those with the winter blues. One of my fav vids from ya, keep up these awesome trips!
Hi Shaun . . Your channel is awesome. It is so exiting watching each new episodes , I am on the edge of my seat most of the time. It takes lot of hard work and filming & editing the stuff you post. Dream & wish is to be a part of one of your expeditions soon. Proud of you guys 👍
From the time the fire tower came into view I was thinking in my head. “ I’d have to make that a yearly trip to clean up and preserve “. Then at the end you took the words out of my mouth ! That would an awesome thing to do. Maybe even take along some kids so that one day maybe they would go back. I would have loved to had the job of living there at that tower ! Those views are absolutely amazing ! Thank you for sharing this one, you truly are blessed to be able to do what you do. Here where I live it seems if you get off the edge of a dirt road on our government lands they’re ready to lock you up ! This was another amazing video trip 👍👍✌️
This past June/July I travelled the 49th Parallel in my Jeep Wrangler JK from buffalo Point MB to Waterton Lakes National Park AB. I came across a few of those shiny obelisks with CANADA on one side and UNITED STATES on the other. The line I followed was surveyed by the Boundary Commission from the winter of 1872 through to the fall of 1874. The section from the west coast to the Great Divide was surveyed about ten years previous and in some cases by the same men who surveyed the section across the prairies. They had crews to cut the swaths through the forests and build the original boundary markers. Fascinating history around the marking of the longest border based on an imaginary line.
Another great video My wife and I enjoyed it, and the views were amazing Thanks for taking us along Love seeing you getting to hang out with your peeps
We did that ride many years ago on dirt bikes. Beautiful view from the tower. It was crazy seeing the border like that. There were Suburbans, jeeps, horses and people over on the US side, nothing on the Canadian side. Now I have to do it on the big adventure bike. Thanks for the video!
Hi Shaun, thankfully here in far Northern California we still have a few fire lookouts that are functional and manned during summer months. It’s always fun to visit one especially when the lookout person is there to explain things. Story on, Jim.
Still an amazing working fire lookout in Lakes Basin, Plumas National forest. On top of the Sierra Buttes. You stand on the platform which overhangs the cliff. About a 600' sheer drop to the base of the cliff.
This video proves that the best adventures are shared with friends. Love watching your videos. They have been a very "zen" experience for me every week, make some dinner, grab a drink and sit outside while I enjoy some views and stories. As someone who is just getting in to 4x4 stuff its been fun to watch. Here in Ontario, things are pretty different, but im hoping to find some cool spots one day. If you guys ever find anything out this way worth making a video of, Id love to see it! I might even have a cottage for the crew to crash at! Look forward to the next adventure!
We were exploring thru out this area 3 times this summer. On both sides of the border along the Flathead River. Recognized it from our pics and your video. Heading back soon… to the Lost tower (real soon). Found it. Mapped. Ready to roll. We were so close and didn’t know it. Gratitude.
Thank you Shaun!! Your artistic eye and editing abilities are amazing!! I can’t imagine the hard work you put in to get those awesome shots. Thanks for taking us along on your journey’s, you have inspired me to get out more and explore my local mountains.
I was thinking about how you can drive and fly the drone at the same time when on a shelf road. Then Clint crashed his drone. Great video again Shaun. I like your cliff jumping.
my favorite video so far...the journey , the scenery , the fun in the water and the lookout tower. With the wildfires being so prevalent around the world I would think about opening it and many more on both sides of the border...I just believe that the earlier it's spotted then the quicker response time to save lives and our lands
This was an awesome episode, I loved it. Keep pumping out this great content. Overlanding (which we just call four-wheel driving in Australia) in Canada is on my bucketlist thanks to you and your videos.
One of the very few situations you can dent ur truck and not be completely pissed about it!! Absolutely beautiful scenery on this trail guys, thanks for the birds eye view on another epic adventure
I watched this video a couple times just mesmerized with some of those shots you get, I live in Reno Nevada, right at the edge of the Sierras and I can smell the trees when I watched this. Awesome dude. Thanks again!
Hey there just watched your video of the lost fire look out great video the Canada boarder you showed is only 40 miles from where we are. I’ve never been to Canada and watching your videos makes me wanna come up and see it. Thanks for showing that side of the boarder crossing was always curious of what was all in those buildings. Keep up the great work on the videos
Another amazing video. Always great when you and Clinton get together. You both did an great job of capturing the excitement of how awesome it can be to get out and enjoy the true beauty of our province. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next one.
Man, your content is flawless... all the takes, video editing, color filters, soundtracks... trust me, I know how much work to create this kind of content... you deserve at least a million followers...
So happy for you and your new towing rig! Now, your Bad-Assly built dedicated off-road rig could be just that. Blessed Trails to you and your motley crew!
So cool to see spots like this. Recognized the sasquatch sign and started mapping to see where this one is! Would be down to go back and fix it up as a group trip for sure!!
The clear cut line along the US and Canada extends a long ways. in 1972 I was timber cruising for the USFS and cruised the timber to the Canadian Boarder in the Okanogan NF.
🙏😇 Shaun, L❤VED hearing you say a return trip with some boys to make sure that lookout stays weather tight & has a chance at lasting a few more years Thanks for bringing us along & sharing your adventures
Performance , soundtrack , landscapes , cars , shots , from each angle , and you as video PREFORMERS,, you made ALL videos legacy 👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏
Very cool awning! I have been looking at awnings for most of the summer. Need to add this setup to the list. (It's more expensive than what I have been looking at, but then it's twice as much awning...)
I love to try and find where you are going while watching the video. Such a cool spot trail didn’t look too tough surprised more people don’t go up there
What an amazing adventure! I agree, time capsule for sure that would need to be preserved. Whomever had this job was the luckiest in the world, just amazing. So fortunate to see this through you guys, thank you!
Man I love your videos! That's a fantastic setup you got. I'm building a small overland trailer out of a Datsun bed and can't wait to explore wyoming with it. Keep up the great clips!
I'm in SK now but 100% know where you guys were at. Did some cutblock flagging a few years back down there recognized the cabins and sketchy bridge right away (Having Clint along was also a giveaway). Saw the fire tower on the map and always wanted to go see but didn't get the chance, now I know thanks! Bucket list trip of mine to go back and spend a good week or more back in the valley. If you go back to clean up the tower I'd definitely make the trip out!
I love the part where you guys are getting coffee and the other guy clearly doesn't like being behind the camera but he's trying to stick it out to be a good friend but then you keep exploiting your experience with him for views and he gets all awkward about it. It's so fun having friends that you can use for your own personal gain :)
Hey! Other guy getting coffee here. Being a RUclipsr myself I certainly don't mind getting cameras shoved in my face 😂 Pretty much anyone who tags along with us can expect a camera, it's part of our job. All smiles here, no pretending.
I worked a lookout on a state border one season and it also had a border with an indigenous reservation so I had 3 radios to use and monitor. It made things way more interesting. Having an international border would definitely make for a season to remember. At least only one language should suffice.
That Toyota truck looks great crossing the bridge, gimme one a dem please. You guys it all man the trips you get to take are all epic. I'm stuck in Jamaica some days feel like I'm in a prison😭😭. Keep making them great videos
It funny that I watched this video and thought i should drive to one of the local fire towers that I have heard about since I was a kid but had never been to it. It was an easy gravel road and an interesting hike to the abandoned Clinch Mountain firetower in SW Virginia. It was fun to get away for a few hours
Awesome video Shaun as usual. Thanks for the ride along. Just a side note... if Clint's Mullet gets any bigger, he may need to buy a permit for it. LOL Great trip, thanks for sharing.
Just epic. what else can you say about that. Shame that the critters moved into that lookout. If i was closer i would help clean it up, but i would have to take a run across that boarder lol.
OnX Off-Road is now available in Canada! Sign up with my link here and I make a small commission: bit.ly/OnXTSTN
Great ONX is now available for us here in Canada BUT at almost 3x the price as the US only “Premium” version. 🤬 Am I missing something?!
And Mexico
Sweet!! And btw i really appreciate these adventures Shaun. Im a newbie at overlanding but i def am afraid of heights and without you i would never be able to experience these places. Im ok with knowing my limits but its still great to see these places you otherwise wouldnt see
@@ryanskeeteyep, you are right. It is 3x the annual price of Gaia. Perfectly fine with my GAIA Premium.
Only avaible in BC & Alberta 🤦🏻♂️

Enjoyed this one so much! Slower pace, exploration, smiles and laughs. That’s what it’s about.
20 year firefighter here. What a place of beauty and peace. Thank you for sharing this.

Day 1 I’m at half a tank. V8 problems. Haha.
How do you do fuel management? Jerry cans? When your exploring how do you fill up the tank?
I carry 3-4 jerry cans fulll

Looks like a great time! Two friends out in nature, nice trail, nothing crazy... pure fun!
That is one of the best views you have filmed. to camp there would be a bucket list for me.
I was thinking about how you can drive and fly the drone at the same time when on a shelf road. Then Clint crashed his drone.
Great video again Shaun. I like your cliff jumping.

I'm thinking that was the old Trail Creek Boarder crossing on the North Fork one the Flathead river, but I've only viewed it from the U.S. side.
Correct
This was an awesome episode, I loved it. Keep pumping out this great content. Overlanding (which we just call four-wheel driving in Australia) in Canada is on my bucketlist thanks to you and your videos.
Breath taking. Wish I was in your shoes. Your truly blessed to see these amazing places. Thank you for sharing.
Of course, another amazing video. You guys are great together the views were absolutely incredible.
Watching this on my 85” tv, crystal drone shots are awesome!
What an incredible place! I'm glad that you made it up there and didn't have to turn back. The view from up there looked amazing!

I would definitely plan a trip up there with cleaning supplies and a new latch for the door. A place like that needs to be preserved.
Enjoyed this one so much!

Now this is one trip. I would love to do with you. Awesome awesome awesome video dude. Love it.
Totally appreciate that you've been to so many fire lookouts and this one still amazes you. Working fire lookouts was my dad's first job in the 50s

Great video and the stunning scenery
That awning is dope!
Ahh the Flathead, awesome video. Do you guys ever worry about damaging your RTTs on overgrown trails, especially the softshells?
