I seem to remember having the same problem a few years ago when I had a bridge over a river, where you're kind of complacent in thinking that the vambies won't use it to gain access into your base, only to find that they managed to do just that. The problem with mine was that the decking of the bridge was too low, which meant vambies could easily jump up onto it and gain entry, that way. In the end, I had to run spike traps all along the length of it, and also place in gates at both ends, with even more spike traps around each, in order to ensure they weren't able to get in. Mike's, (or Matt's in your case), frequency to repair has to be given priority, especially after an attack, to ensure that every defensive measure is at full strength. Vambies do have a habit of attacking the same part over and over, which in one respect is a good thing as you know where you need to concentrate your defences, but also a bad thing in that, if there's enough attacks without repairs, then it's only a matter of time before they break through.
You got killed because you panicked in this unexpected and scary situation. Forgot about the truck, it's virtually indestructible and you could have run down most of the horde simply by driving back and forth along the road. Epic fight, anyway.
If you are destroying iron fragments convert them into ingots and then nails they might not sell for a lot but at least you are making money plus nails stack to 50 that means 5 ingots and a box would be like 160 ingots or 40 stacks of 50 nails
I would like to see the dev do something different other than having a trader sell you perks and the advanced end game tech. Bear with me for a minute as I explain... I looted the entire map. I kept end game materials (SA, lead ore, kevlar, cloth, plastic, nails, screws, feathers, mechanical and electrical parts, wires and tin cans) and I sold the rest (coffee, tea, eggs, all other food items, ores, clay, tallow, fat, first aid kits, bricks, glass, bones, etcetera). I kept roughly two and a half chests of materials, sold 4 chests and two coolers worth of other materials to the trader. I only made $318.34 in total...after looting the entire map. I was so disappointed. I do not want to resort to crafting and selling cement to buy the tech and perks. Babysitting cement mixers to obtain end game advanced tech and perks is not at all appealing to me. I would argue that it is the worse end game content model one could come up with. I would like to see the dev get rid of the trader altogether and use exploration, like he did with the tech pages. For instance, he could scatter journal entries across the map that teach you the perks and they only appear in the world in random locations after you have done x, y, and z. As for the tech, he could have obscure locations where we can be led to find the tech for the advanced tech items. Hints are found throughout the towns, on maps you may find or in journals...and you have to piece it all together to find these locations, maybe defeat some bad guys who are guarding the area and obtain the tech. I do not like that the end game advanced tech and the perks are things you purchase, especially when the items you loot and sell are only worth pennies. It is not fun, nor is it good content for content creators, to have traders as the gate keepers for the end game content. I am a content creator, myself, playing a series of this game atm, but not for long after this experience, which I will be sharing in my next video, showing what I had looted and what I got for it all from the trader. I felt so defeated and that my efforts spent looting the entire map was made into a mockery. I understand from watching your content on this game, that the dev wants it to be a long, drawn out process obtaining this tech, but at some point, it is fruitless to obtain it when you really do not need it, they are convenience items. So, it only makes sense to turn that aspect into something fun, rather than boring and drawn out. Give us something to enjoy, rather than hate. It should be content that adds enjoyment to the game, and does not take enjoyment away. Just my two cents.
Wow, all those Vambies on you at one time was scary! I'm looking forward to your next looting videos. I'm in the middle of a winter-only run and I decided my big thing would be to get 100k power storage with an average of 1k power in at all times. My days end up looking like this: go out and loot electrical parts, come back and take the haul from my Aluminum extractors. It takes a lot of Aluminum to build those Wind Turbines!
Why didn't you show the damage they did? At your "game stage" (don't know what else to call it) you could have repaired the base pretty quick. You're good at building and I think you missed an opportunity for some cool content. That being said, I'm loving this series and learning a bit along the way...
cant you make electrical parts and Mechanical Parts from the crafting book? i saw on The Infected Wiki that you can make Mechanical Parts in the advanced workbench and electrical parts in the same workbench and it takes 1 iron ingot to make 1 mechanical parts, and for the electrical parts its 1 copper ingot, 1 cobalt ingot and 1 plastic and you can make plastic in the Chemistry Table.
During the hoard you had me yelling at the screen "Jump in the truck! jump in the truck!!" LOL!!
Yay!!! So glad for the infected! Love the power room!

Lol upgrade those defenses son
So much room for activities!
The base looks amazing, kage!
I think it is your most realistic looking base that you have made.
You got killed because you panicked in this unexpected and scary situation. Forgot about the truck, it's virtually indestructible and you could have run down most of the horde simply by driving back and forth along the road. Epic fight, anyway.
I wish these games had u-shaped stairs that would fit 1x1 or 1x2 squares. They would be easier to place so that they make sense.
LOL remember when he said it was cool when the hoard came acroos the bridge the first hoard after he built it. Kage!! It is the bridge.
You can build the rack for the sandstone crates
Started to watch this game. I had to get it. Your videos have helped out a lot.

So many little things add up to money, may not be alot each time, but they add up.
I have said it before, and I'll say it again: This is (in my opinion) your best basebuild. It just seems so livable, if that makes sense.
“Safe 9000” they climb through a window lol 😜
I mentioned in your last episode to build a gate on the bridge and to put spikes on either side of it. That should stop them no questions asked
There is also a section of wall between your gates and the spikes. 10:37
And in other news, toll jumpers forced closing of the 848 bridge. Film at 11:00

Yes it does. I bult about 170 of those silly things, but I have positive power at all times.
Great improvement
I take a cart with two crates into the trader all the time
When you have the Liver will it be with Father Beans and a nice Chianti lol
Move the gates to the edge that way you will be able to hide the walls inside the building walls
When you rebuild the porch put stairs to connect the lowest porch

How do you get the cart behind you?
direction of floors is irrelevant btw just upgrade to concrete bro the wood is ugly af
will this game be on console any time soon
first one here.lol
