We need to work on one thing every,,,ie,,roads,,another year we work on hospitals,,,another year we work on electricity,,,another year we focus on schools,,,I think it could be better
One of the highlights of this national budget showed that finished goods produced by manufacturers in Uganda are very competitive globally because of their qualities. Ķira Motors for example, with government support have received orders from Nigeria,Tanzania, South Africa, for the supply of their trucks and buses manufactured in Uganda.
I remember from a video that we were told that President Museveni displayed a mastery of Rocket Science and Organic Chemistry. And in many fora, President Museveni had discussed space programs as part of the NRM strategic security agenda. From this budget, Uganda already has a Space Program as some Ugandan engineers have been and are still begin trained in Japan,China, and Egypt.
The statemanship of President Museveni is all-encompassing.From the budget, there are grants for Senior Citizen to keep them heathly and productive. We have the Youth Livelihood Program and we have the grant for persons with disabilities among others
😊The New Vision reported of a global meeting of regulators to focus among others on regulatory challenges in digital eco-system. This meeting in my opinion is very important especially when viewed against the background that digital eco-system does not function in isolation.Rather, it functions based on data fed into it. Another report said that Uganda Free Zone Authority will attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), through the Ministry and Mission abroad. Monitor reported of UAE calling for more bilateral relations with Uganda. Also in Mointor is a report that President Museveni advised Ugandans not to delay marriage❤.
But u guys help Ugandans and at least construct for them roads especially in Kampala. U people are not ashamed!!!!! Look at Kampala roads!!! For God and my beautiful country UGANDA🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬
Finally, recall that our First Lady, Mama Janet Museveni who because of her charisma can influence voters, said ,in a separate interview that Uganda will keep on welcoming Refugees.Towards this end, the budget told us that the government will construct 17 Rural Water Supply System in Refugees hosting districts. This explains why Refugees regarded Uganda as their choice destination.😊
Moinitor newspaper reported of a sugarcane factory facing closure. Owners of the sugar facfory, in my submission, that is at the verge of closure, should try and have audience with President Museveni on this issue please.
Monitor newspaper said that a particular forest in the refugees hosting district is exposed to deforestation.Attention is needed in this area and free trees may be given out for reafforestation please.
The budget also highlighted far-reaching measures aimed at tackling corruption with a view of enthroning accoutability in service to Uganda. Towards this end, there are provisions in the budget for the enhancement and strengthening of the courts and security agencies through the acquisition of various assets and the automation of agencies. Also, there are provisions in the budget for the use of scientific evidence in investigation and prosecution of cases of corruption ,cybercrine, and money laundary.
Monitor carried a report citing a survey that said that MPs do not listen to those who voted them into power. New Vision carried a report that the UPDF was lauded because of its transparency in its recruitment drives. Observer reported a call to change people's mindset as a way of lifting them out of poverty.
The New Vision carried a report on President Museveni calling on families to prioritise wealth creation. Also in the media outlet is a report that financial transparency, hygiene and teamwork are precursors to happy marriage. This comment was made at the ongoing Bride and Groom Expo. Still on New Vision, is a report that a minister praised a bank for providing financial solutions to businesses and individuals which led to transformation of the economic landscapes of East Africa. Monitor carried a report of a farm clinic which will lead to an increase in productivity in Uganda.
In bids to minimise the use of foreign exchange, reduce the importation of finished goods and for economic and health security import subsitutions were given priority in this budget. Makerere University, for example, is developing an import substitute kit for Universal Health Care Tools for public health security. Also the health sector is also incentivised in other area. There is tax holidays for persons who establish a medical or hospital facility Also import subsitute is in place for wheat importation and the minerals sector among others.
Another prominent feature of President Museveni NRM goverment is that they decentralise government offices. In other words, it is a deliberate policy to make all Ugandans see NRM government achievements. The East Africa Centre for Excellence for Oncology for example, has branches in Campera,Gulu,Mara, and Arua. The same goes for other goverment establishments.
Importation of petrol and its products with its huge foreign exchange spendings will soon be a thing of the past going by the provisions of the budget. One could notice an increase in cost of imports in the last financial year. This was due to the importation of materials for the 60,000bpd ongoing construction of an petrochemical refinery in Uganda. Also the technical partners to this refinery,MBM Investment have started arriving in Uganda from the United Arabe Emirates Upon completion it will save Uganda a lot on foreign exchange..
Climate change activists will commend this budget because of the initiatives the budget highlighted in tackling climate change. The government is granting tax holidays to manufacturers of electric vehicles, motor cycles, batteries, electric charging equipment among others
A report from Business Insider Africa showed that Uganda occupied 4th position among top ten investment destinations in Africa This is coming on the heels of Uganda being ranked as the top UAE investment destination in Africa for two years in a row. This position is expected to move up further when Ugandan Petroleum Refinery start producing which will also make Uganda to still maintain its ranking as the best UAR investment destination.

Pulse media outlet,Nigeria reported that Uganda stock exchange is among the best five performing stock exchanges in Africa with the exchange witnessing a 17.93%growth in the first half of 2024. Monitor reported of a call for regulatory frameworks for the use of technology essentials.. Observer reported of Uganda Airlines investing Shs120 billion supporting Uganda businesses that supply the Airlines with locally manufactured products.
Monitor carried a report on the division among members of the NUP. This is not healthy for the formation of a National Unity Government in that there will be disagreement among members of this party on how to share appointments to be allocated to them in the formation of a National Unity Government. From observation it is very difficult for political parties to resolve their differences without outside intervention. I propose that the NRM may wish to help to resolve the NUP disareements. A report from the census revealed that Uganda has more women than men. The New Vision carried a report that called for tax reduction in digital gadgets. Another report called on Ugandans to strive for the best and embrace ICT as that is where the furture opportunities are.Recall that NRM has ICT on its agenda. The Nile Post carried a report that called on youths to join the fight against corruption.
