Great video! I have a question, because I was a bit confused, at the end when you were laying tiles, you did it on 1920x1080, where previously you were working on values like 2048x2048. Does this mean that before e.g. throwing into the game, you scale the created art adequately to the viewport inside Krita?
You don't have to necessarily scale down the sprite sheet (or individual assets) before importing them into the game software. Game Maker e.g can scale the sprites, but if you want to save some time, I'd suggest doing that before importing ☺️ And as for the 2048x2048px canvas - I just like to keep my work at higher resolution since it's always easier to scale it down that to upscale it 😀
Hi Ella, a fast question, u "upload" the assets to Unity in a special format or something? I'm interested in the art part of game dev too 🤣 but i'm just starting, thx!
Luckily, many game companies don't want to use and promote AI in their games. Will that be the case in the future? Probably, but that still doesn't mean humans should stop making art ;)
Download Game Maker here: opr.as/GM-EllaSketch2 :)
Amazing, this is really useful. I totally forgot how amazing krita is for creating tileable hand-painted textures!
Thank you so much! Yes, Krita rocks! 😁
@@ellasketch but most important thing is using drawing tablet , otherwise
@@shadow6161 it is definitely much easier with a tablet 😅

@@ellasketch Thank You!
@@MB_Arssin you're welcome! Sorry it took me a while to answer to your comment 🫣
@@ellasketch No problem :D I had a break from my pixel art project and this topic intrigued me, so I "played" a bit. Thanks again!

If you're uploading 2D assets, you just upload it as a .png format as a spritesheet :)
@@ellasketch damn! xD i was specting some weird format... thank youuu!
Gimp or krita for Game asset making ?
Personally I haven't tried Gimp for drawing, so I'd say Krita :)
Madam Do you make any video games?
I make art for games :)
@@ellasketch ohh ok 😊👍
sorry but AI better for this.(Bad News for me btw)
