I feel a little betrayed that Rauru didn’t become our new companion.

I would've liked if they handled him similarly to Joker from Arkham Knight. You're just fartin' around Hyrule and if you turn the camera somewhere Rauru will be there taking in something. Talk to him and he'll remark about Hyrule and how its changed since his rule.
imagine his reaction if he saw what you were actually doing with his arm. Or the korok genocides

I wish Link has more interactions with King Rauru. He is very interested in meeting him since Zelda has spoken highly and fondly of her appointed knight.
Yeah, I gotta admit, Nintendo is a total pro at keeping such mysteries alive! It's like they've mastered the art of leaving us hanging and itching for more. Gotta give 'em props for that! 😄🎮
It's a shame he didn't get to know Link better but it's nice to go back and watch this after learning more about Rauru. It feels so much more meaningful the second time around.
@@JosbirdIt starts out as a total mystery, but then it feels like a solid conclusion to his character. After having felt the burden and responsibility to defeat Ganondorf alone as the only one with a power that can hurt him, he can finally rest knowing Link can succeed.
@@speedude0164yeah, in retrospect, i actually adore this. It's so wonderfully bittersweet. By seeing this both at the beginning of the game when we didn't know anything and rewatching after, we get to put ourselves in both of their shoes. Link, not knowing this guy but inherently trusting him because of their mutual love for Zelda, and then later Rauru, who sacrificed so much to get to this point so is relieved to know that, even with the long arduous journey ahead of him, Link is clearly up to the task.
@@Josbird What's funny about Rauru for me personally is that his cutscenes kinda make him feel like an iconic character from a past game making his grand return, even though we've never seen him before. Maybe it's because his theme is reminiscent of Skyward Sword, and the Zonai seem to be a different interpretation of the people of Skyloft (something that leads me to believe these games could take place in an alternate timeline created by Demise's defeat in the past).
This scene keeps growing stronger for me, the soft notes of Rauru’s theme, the farewell after companion, the begin of the adventure

Absolutely! More time with Rauru would have been amazing. Nintendo left us wanting more!
Well there's always the dlc...maybe...
He had so much potential to be a traveling companion, because of the arm. But they legit copy and pasted King Rhoam's role onto him, but with bigger flashback presence. Rauru and Sonia would have benefited so well with more appearances in the game, considering the story was much longer and bigger this time. I hope DLC delves into them more!

You could say the same thing about The King Of Red Lions and Midna. They both show up to aid Link after his ill advised attempts to rescue his loved ones. At first, it's simply a business arrangement where Link takes out Ganon/Zant, they'll help him save his loved ones. They clearly know more about what's going on then they say. At around the half way point it's revealed that KORL and Midna are the monarchs of long forgotten kingdoms. When they have to leave Link, they do so by severing the only connection between their world and Link's world even though it clearly pains them to do so.

Wow what a cinematic and gorgeous scene. Got goosebumps during this exchange between the characters. So glad to witness that Rauru was able to see the truth himself about the hero Zelda mentioned. Rauru is the GOAT, literally!!!!🔥🔥🔥👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
I really thought we were gonna have the Johnny Silverhand type of companion that nobody else could see lol

I still have no way to fully grasp how much of a chad Rauru is.
In the past, he has never met Link and only hears about him from Zelda. Yet, he put his whole.... reality and its future kinda at risk simply because he fully believes that Link truly is this good.
And now that he used the last of his power and met Link, he feels completely satisfied and trusts Link wholly that he'll beat Ganondorf.
I desperately wish that we get some kind of expansion of his character. Won't happen but my dream is a Hyrule Warriors game set during the past.
