Clam Chowder Recipe (serves 4):
1 can whole clams
1 can minced clams
separate the meat from juice, set aside.
2 strips chopped bacon
cook until brown, then add
3 tbsp unsalted butter
melt and then add
1/2 diced onion
2 cloves minced garlic
1 tsp old bay seasoning
1/2 tsp thyme
1 tsp kosher salt
saute for another minute. Then add
4 tbsp flour to thicken
while stirring add
1 cup clam juice
1 cup whole milk
2 cups cubed russet potatoes
1 cup chopped celery
bring to a boil, cover, and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes until potatoes are tender. Stir occasionally
add 3/4 cups whole milk and
the clam meat
stir and bring back to a boil.
serve in bread bowl
garnish with parsley and oyster crackers.

I made my own variation of Clam Chowder tonight based on your video. It created our first family Christmas tradition of "Christmas Chowder". Thanks for the inspiration! The only tweaks I made were adding small diced carrots and sweating them with the onion and celery at the beginning.

My very favorite soup is called żurek, which is a Polish sour soup made from a base of fermented rye flour & served with hard-boiled eggs & kielbasa. I do love clam chowder though!! I’m really excited to try this recipe with the mushroom modification, because my sister won’t touch seafood.

Clam chowder is my fave, hands down! But I love your idea of substituting clam for chicken and corn, that sounds delicious too. Mhmm! I recently ate clam chowder and now it's my favourite! I've been looking for a recipe so I can't wait to try out this one! Just a question, I have frozen clams at home so instead of buying canned can I use frozen or even fresh clams? How would it differ from using canned clams?

Yes!! I LOVE clam chowder. All that rich, decadent creamy, seafood-y goodness! Yummers! One of the best clam chowders I had was in the Bay area many, many moons ago. I would have dug out the bread's flesh so I can have more clam chowder in my bowl, though. I'm not a big carb person because for me it's often considered an accompaniment or vehicle for whatever it is I am eating (i.e. pizza...I'm not a crust person but love to load up the toppings). :) Thanks for sharing the recipe. Hope you come up with more stuff that uses Old Bay seasoning in the future. BTW, you look like an angel in that white blouse. :)

I personally looooove ye olde Dutch split pea soup! It's incredibly thick (if you can't stick your spoon upright in it, then it isn't good enough!), and it kinda looks like vomit, but it is so so good! 😁

My favorite soup to make is zuppa toscana from Olive Garden. It’s a crowd favorite when we have parties. I like my version better though 😉 But my husband and i love ramen. We live in San Diego and we’ve pretty much tried all the ramen restaurants here. Have you tried any in L.A.? I’d love to see your version of Japanese ramen 😋
