For anyone who didn't play any of the saints rows due to bad reviews, treat yourself these games are extremely fun and you actually start to care for the characters. It's not just 'a GTA ripoff' te games evolved into its own thing
Bad reviews are probably Die hard fans GTA who dislikes Saints row games fromthe beginning.. and Always thought The open world game are just for GTA.
Saints Row 1 was a bit too rough to really suggest to anyone. 2 and up, hell yes play these games ASAP! 3 is still my personal favorite, and even the "side game" Gat out of Hell is more than worth playing and has dozens of hours of content in it.

Absolutely love this game, best in the series imo and I preferred SR2 over GTA IV personally. Just such a chaotic and fun game, and so much stuff you can do. It's insane how much content this game has
Yes i figured out too.. you can Hijack one of civillians Cars by equip some guns and SMG.. This only work sometimes if you keep aim the vehicles in the red circle while before Hijack it Playa will start shooting civillian Head and then steal it.. that was the best thing i discovered up right now in SR2
Everyone prefered sr2 over gta 4. Anyone that says otherwise, never played both. Even sr2's multiplayer was more fun than gta 4.

SR2 was fun because have female gender even if you can't decrease/increase the bust.. that boobs still looks not right for my character 🥴.. but its alright more fun and entertaining for me😳😳.. enemies are more challenged/Because can carrying RPG sometimes make your heart beat go fast.. luckily their aim are bad not as good as SR1 Enemies who carrying RPG are smart when you chase Hector in the Airport..

And everyone in Stilwater likes you and assume you as like their kids,Daughter,Having an affair with them,Remind them with their girfriend,their Wife when still younger,The female saints crew ask you if they can call you as their sister because Some Female crew Remind the boss with their sister.
For the bad things they always call you B*tch,Slut and Hoes when Pimp dislike you because you trying to start fighting with them.

GTA only focused on realistic and lacked fun for me.. while its been a years they still didn't add new feature like taking hostage 🥴.. i hate when you are forced to do Auto assist aim in GTA.. but that was optional right.

One major thing most people don’t know about the first Saints Row is it had ragdoll physics before the GTA games did. Obviously GTA 4 eventually came and set the standard for realistic physics with Euphoria, but at the time, Saints Row was just more fun when it came to mowing down pedestrians and getting in fist fights. Always underrated

Ah, he finally plays Saints Row 2, one the most fun i've had in a game. So much to do and it's actually fun and interesting.

Genuinely feel sorrow for you if you didn’t have the pleasure of playing the masterpieces that are SR1 & SR2 in their prime.
The PC version of the game is... pretty broken if you play it vanilla. There's fixes out there, and apparently an OFFICIAL update supposedly was being worked on recently (yeah, somehow they had lost the source code for the game and then just kinda found it over a decade later), but they haven't released it yet. They'll probably release their horrible reboot that nobody wants first, and then put out the patch for this game to see if they can get back into people's good graces.
I will never understand why this game got such mixed reviews, it's honestly one of the best and most memorable games I've ever played.
If it got mixed reviews on steam it’s probably bc of all the bugs on PC but if does in general it’s just a bunch of GTA fans boys. All the OG Saints Row enjoyers know it was a great game with a cool story behind it. I got so much memories with Saints Row one of my favorite games of all time. I wish it could make a comeback but they just don’t want to drop the goofy shit they have nowadays

@@zeeshaanzalgaonkir1461 The times were different I guess. Nowadays this game has more content than half the crap developers release in 2022/23. This game has truly stood the test of time. Btw I grew up with GTA and tried Saints Row 2 a couple of months ago.
This game is so realistic you don’t just take some damage when jumping out of a speeding vehicle and hit your head on a pole. And has better hit detection than like all the modern cod’s 😂
The court scene at the beginning is my favorite cutscene in any video game ever made. Johnny Gat calling the little old lady judge a douchebag, arguing that with the satute of limitations his 300 counts of murder should be closer to 250, threatening should to shove the gavel up the judges ass, the lawyer who after a gunshot goes off in the court room ducks behind cover and yells "anybody hit and need a lawyer"

Btw, since you're on PC, I strongly recommend the Gentlemen of the Row mod. Not only does it fix a lot of the game's issues, but it also adds a bunch of stuff that can make the game pretty fun. The mod was actually made by a dev from the studio known as IdolNinja (May he rest in peace).
Yess in PC we got shaundi choker, And accesories for the neck also including in there thanks for the modders.. i remember they have free 2 dlc too right.. and Can choose the snowy weather to make the games more Interesting,and More satisfied you.. SR2 the only SR2 you can sit in the passenger seats like a true boss when you triggered some crew out of the car then you enter The car with them at the same time.. and let them drive around the town(I always shooting the road with McMagnus so i can hear my Female boss Complain when the Crew bumped into some things near them and destroyed his/her car 🤣🤭) I find it looks really great when Volition Makes you think you have to figure out alone by yourself to make that happen.. even GTA SA cannot do this so sad :(.

Lots of good times and memories with this game, along with some great mods to make the gameplay insane. PC version definitely has its good stuff.
And yeah I agree about that with GTA SA. That's what helped Saints Row stand out.

And yeah, I'm sure there are secrets in the game that's yet to be discovered. It took years for a couple myths to be confirmed like the Mr. Freezer bug or something like that, including the whale man myth thing.
And with modding, there's a lot more potential. Like that one huge mod where you play as the Masako, that Ultor Private Police/Army.

Yeah with Ultor mods you can even fight with The Saints gang and your opponent will be Johnny Gat, and His crew.. in Kanto connection right even you will having a hard way to get up because Saints crew are more brutal, not let their opponent get up after knocked out to the ground.
I used to play saints row 3 co-op with my buddy. We both got it free with xbox gold and boy was that game a blast. Such a goofy game. Back then it was definitely the better sandbox game compared to the likes of GTA 4.

This game was great. The online on ps3 for it was absolutely brilliant too. These games are actually fun, they were overshadowed by gta and trendy opinions but I had such a fun time with these games. This was probably the best story in the franchise, the 4th game is what it is but you can't lie when it was all still over the top fun from 3&4's standards but 2 had the best story. The characters from 2 are very likeable.

The first 2 games were garbage trash GTA clones made so that little jimmy could get mommy to buy him a GTA clone since she generally wouldn't buy him GTA. Atleast 3 and 4 tried to be something other than a garbage GTA clone and tried to do their own thing..Even then the word "masterpiece" would never be associated with Saints Row anything, unless you were 12 when they came out.

Saints row 2 still to this day is one of my top open world games.
Anyone who calls this a GTA ripoff is delusional. There are things in GTA 5 online that rip off Saints Row 3 & 4 (the wacky stuff like hoverbikes, etc) and there are lots of things you can do in SR that still aren't available in GTA.
This game is sooo nostalgic for me, I still remember getting the game from a friend and playing it secretly since I wasn't allowed to play it as a kid. So much fucking fun man

Saints Row 2 has some of the most impressive map design of any open world game. It should be used to teach map design.
I'm currently having a blast replaying through saints row 4 I definitely recommend it, it just feels like a dnd game where the dm just told the players "buckle in we're going for a ride" and then hits them with everything they've got
For anyone who didn't know, the campaign is/was co-op enabled and additionally if you had cheats active, you could use them online. Me and some guy tried to break the game by putting on low gravity starting the fighting ring mini game around the prison and then escaping the prison and mini game by jumping out of the ring. Such wild adventures I even managed to break gravity and get a monster truck stuck vertically in a random building. Low gravity, evil cars, and infinite health was a fun combo, just a whacky game thats probably underrated.
My mom refused to buy me and my brother GTA when I was like 10, but she did but us saints row 2 for our Xbox. To say we played the shit out of that game is an understatement

The best way to do insurance fraud is to wait by a 4 way intersection and wait for a lot of speeding traffic, get hit by a speeding car and when u fly high up in the air, don't land on the ground, keep moving ur guy to get hit hit by other cars or trucks without hitting the ground, u will get tons of $ and it's hilariously fun
oh my watching you try and tag that building was like my first time when was I was probably like 13 or something idk lmao, I remember that being so hard the first playthrough which I could never get past the mission of getting gat out of the hospital. sad childhood moment but when I can, I try to play nowadays. and like previous comments say PLZZZ play these games if you haven't they are ABSOLUTLEY hilarious and a BUNCH of FUN. especially with the CRAZY amount of cheat codes, if your into that kinda thing ;)

Saints Row 2 is one of the greatest games of the early 2000s and also my personal favorite game of all time, but unfortunately it released at the wrong time and got too overshadowed by other great and more popular titles

GTA are boring cannot taken hostage while SR could.. SR2 the only SR that have facial expression when running,getting shot,Crouching,Eating some food and drink booze and smoking the blunt.. Slaughterhouse was the Amazing meat factory because the big fan used to cut the meat can also bleeding your character and drain your health to the zero... Oh pickup the object is the most interesting about this game 👍🏻

saints row 2 really was a corner of my childhood i would really only mess around and do alot of the cheats cause evil cars milk bones the middle finger theres even a glitch where if you do like the look back and like slap your ass well you can get up against a wall and wall breach with a c4 if you use the emote to clip through the walls also if you use low gravity while doing the fist fighting activity within the prison youll be able to jump outside the prison from the basketball hoops once out the entire city is just empty with no one also you can ride up buildings with low gravity if you wheelie a bike up a building

i remember playing this on my 9400gt and getting like 15fps, nonetheless i still played through the game multiple times
As someone who has played every Saints Row game and specifically bought an Xbox 360 arcade (since Saints Row 1 is an Xbox exclusive) after owning only Playstations for years just shows how good these games are. I thoroughly enjoyed 3 and 4 despite going different paths from a street gang to now celebrities that just love to wreak havoc. Your commentary is hilarious and sounded like you had tons of fun with just the side missions, plus diversions. You can also mug, streak, rob (by grabbing or pointing a gun the owner/manager/clerk and walking them to the safe), streak, and ho (having sex with a stranger). There's also car surfing which is self explanatory. The rewards aren't at all bad from reduced damage, more ammo to carry, weapon unlocks to unlimited ammo, unlimited sprint and faster health regeneration. I mean even in the beginning of Saints Row IV the narrator even calls out that many believed the Saints were pretenders to the throne all the way back in 2006. I personally can't wait for the new Saints Row and despite its controversies or how the devs are responding back, it still looks like classic Saints Row mixed with 3 and 4. I'm personally hoping that the cast does come back as we know in Saints Row 4 (SPOILERS if you haven't beaten or played Saints Row 4 and Gat out of Hell)
that the Saints have the ability to travel back in time. Or this new reboot takes place in the retconned universe ending from GooH where Gat is now a detective from South Korea but still has questionable tactics as a police officer. I just really want Gat, Shaundi, Kenzie, Pierce and Matt back, and it's just sudden to literally cut them out of a Saints Row game.
There will be references to the old games but no actual connections apparently. After the dumpster fire of a lore they created, i can see why they wanna separate from that
I love the humor this series has. Every single one feels a bit different and is fun to play. One of my favorite open world series for sure.
Fr SR2 even can let you sit in the passenger seats with your Saints crew and let them drive around in stilwater while you just sits and enjoying the View while your crew driving around the town... To get that happened always let my Saints crew with Vehicles come out first while i take the bait starting fight with some people.. after i killed the pedestrian.. i trying to enter the car together and then.. Ta-daaa.. Now you can Sit well in the car like a true boss and Watch your crew driving around in stilwater.

I genuinely thought that the Saints Row games were better than GTA. I grew up on GTA but there was nothing like running from cops while blasting old 80's music and helping ridiculous characters in gang wars. Idc what anyone says, if you never played them and you're judging it as a "knock-off GTA", then you're completely wrong, and you need to give some of these games a shot. I have great memories with these games and even though they're super wacky, it's such a fun experience and it's definitely one of those "judge a book by it's cover" scenarios. Don't hate until you try it, because growing up on GTA I actually prefer these games more.
