Thanks Richard! Those harmonicas were pretty cool in those old sets! It was a big shame they didn't use a triple-layered 100GB disc to give us a proper 4k presentation!! Sometimes you just wonder what folks are thinking when they choose which disc to house these movies on...
My favourite western, Thanks for the review, Its worth owning for the beautifully done poster enclosed in this set, yes its a shame the movie was put on a BD66, It definitely should have had the BD100 treatment, But it is what it is. So glad to finally own it on 4k bluray my copy arrived today 💿👌
I saw a video on youtube regarding this i think it was jeff on films at home. Saying that when the version for 4k disc was finished the size ended uo being 65 gb. So there was simply no need for a 100 gb disc. The reason the streaming version is 80 gb and this is on a 66 gb disc is because there is supposed to be some kind of difference between preparing the files for streaming and disc? Dont know how true that is though
No disrespect to Jeff but his argument doesn’t hold up. Every professional reviewer (far above Jeff) has stated that this should have been in a 100 GB for a 3 hour movie. The bit rates are atrocious. A horrible choice by Paramount.
Kaleidescape did their own file over a year ago and their 4k file size to download to your Strato box was finished 87GB. This is has impacted not only the fine photochemical grain structure visible in the image, but the fine detail as well”
Such a shame. It seems like they didnt put much effort into this release. But looking at the others, they arent that many collectibles anymore outside of the movie itself. The Zippo and the harmonica were excellent touches.

Yes. Huge shame. The Kaleidescape version was close to 90GB so really expected a 100GB disc here for a close to 3 hour movie.
