Zwilling is made in China and it's the same flawed design used in all the other rebranded toasters like Oster and Kitchenaid. Overly tight spring sends toast rocketing out on the counter and it toasts unevenly, burning the edges even. Dualit is made in the UK, but it's over $300. You can easily find a used toaster of similar quality second hand that sold for $50 in 2013. It's a good toaster but it's not that good. You are paying for the fact it's assembled by competent works in a first world country. Breville is manufactured in China, and it's the same design used by all the other Chinese Toasters no matter what brand is slapped on it, despite claiming to be designed in Australia. Smeg Retro avoids saying where anything is manufactured by only saying all their products are designed in Italy. You can't lie if you avoid answering the question so I'm going to assume their products are made in China. That they are charging over $200 and made in China is the worst insult.

Except for the Dualit, all of these are actually made in China. If you are going to spend $100 - $200, go get a toaster that will last. Go dig up an old Sunbeam T-20 or T-35 from the 1950s - 1980s. Wide slots, only ONE control to worry about, absolutely beautiful all-steel with chrome case, built like a bank safe, and makes precise, perfect toast the same way every time.

I got an AG-W radiant control model. It doesn't do bagels, but all my bread toasts to exactly the same amount of toastness every time!

Sunbeam, Toastmaster, Proctor Silex, Westinghouse, General Electric, Black and Decker, they were all made in the USA back then. Now they’re all chinese made garbage, so sad!

All these are trash compared to my 60 year old toaster that toasts all bread to the exact same color, even frozen bread.
It's a sunbeam AG-W and uses the amount of light reflecting off the bread to know when it's toasted enough. Bought it for $50 on ebay, cleaned and replaced the power cord, and now none of my family will ever need another toaster.

LMAO... i was too distracted by the myriad of stock footage....I think you're more interested in getting use out of whoever your stock footage subscription is with then telling me whats good buy to just make some toast.... you wouldn't think getting something that toasts bread would be such a chore.

If you're going to recommend $200-$300 toasters, you should probably test them out first instead of just reading their "selling points" from a webpage.
