Wisconsin Running Back Melvin Gordon rushed for 408 yards on 25 carries (16.3 ypc) to break LaDainian Tomlinson's previous record of 406 yards, set in 1999 against UTEP.
Melvin played in only three quarters against Nebraska, whose rush defense had ranked in the top-20 nationally leading into the game.
