Nice one Molly, i am another man child R53 owner that's throwing $ and many hours into my 2005 hyper blue Mini and can barely wait to complete the project and just enjoy it but like most plans they just get bigger 😂. Love your set up too looks great.
I love the color and color matching fender flares! It looks sharp and sounds tamely cool! I am having a mini fever with my mini engine apart for a rebuild. Hopefully, getting another mini to stay inspired to complete it and have a rumbly mini! This is a good video I appreciate it
I daily my 04 r53 100-150 miles a day mainly highways and if a cruise at about 70 mph on California messed up freeways and get about 32mpg .as long as you stay ontop of the services it will treat you right just like any other performance car its going to be a little more pricey. My r53 has just shy of 160k miles on it and still runs amazing.
Just about to pick one up on an 03 plate it’s immaculate all original and has only done 24k miles electric blue….. I can’t wait I’ve never driven one and it will be hard to resist modding it 😅 my weekend car is a Lotus Elise. Thanks for the informative video it’s helped me get some insight on these cool little machines.
@@MollydoesRUclips definitely will no doubt about that 😁…… can you tell me is there much of a difference in performance with an 03 plate compared to 04-06 models ? Thanks again 😉
I’ll be 65 April. Have had my 02 R53 almost 2 years. I’ve got such a long list of parts on my shelves. Performance and cosmetic related. Quaif, cam , clutch, large intercooler and a LOT more. Front and rear. Even ALL the hoses and sensors. Figured since I’m in there I might as well. Pain to take apart every time you do an upgrade. Going to be a blast! Hey woman. Your car looks fantastic. May get the front facia. What brand is it and does it have to be a full kit to blend in. Thanks
Sorry. After looking at it closer I realized it’s stock. Looks nice. I have extra flares that I’ll paint to match car. Probably all the black parts. I’m 6’3” so having those seats would be fine. How are they holding up? Did you do springs or coil overs. I decided on coil overs. I’m really throwing $ at it lol. I have muscle cars, truck, motorcycles and a drag car. I never grew up. My matchbox and hot wheels are bigger and more expensive! Thanks for the reply.
@@Jack-uf1os the trim and the down tubes and a few other bits were a set I found on eBay a few years ago tbh, it was just an individual selling it so wasn’t a shop
I also use my 2005 R53 as a daily driver. The features also make the car a real driver's car. Ok, the depreciation with 50 miles daily is high. A total distance of 150,000 miles has now been driven. But the high fun factor of the car more than makes up for it. The handling, sound of the supercharger and sports exhaust make you feel like you're driving a sports car! The consumption of a car of this caliber is not too bad. 8.6301554 Miles / Liter.
Depends on the age really, if the gen 1 age I agree oil needs checking regularly but depends on the daily mileage. Some would say it’s not a Mini if it doesn’t have a oil leak 😂
Wouldn’t say it needs checking daily. As with most cars that are 20 years old now, maintenance is going to be something to keep on top of. I’ve got an R53 all oil seals have been replaced hasn’t leaked a drop in last couple of years. If you ain’t handy with some tools, it can be costly but if you’re willing to lean the owners clubs are always a good place to find some help locally and the mini community is one of the best around
@@MollydoesRUclips Better on the motorbike. I can't see what's coming the opposite way in the Mini cus I can't see over the bushes.. you did well to get a clear run.

@@johnhall8564 late 2004 onwards had teflon coated charger, different gear ratios made a few extra ponies too.
My MCS isnt even lowered and i have to go over the dumb half width bumps very specifically in order to avoid bumper ejection.
I’ve been dailying mine recently too, and any downsides are properly outweighed by that supercharger whine !!!
So true, love this!
nice video i daily drive mine and love it
Glad to hear it’s getting used and thanks for subscribing ☺️

Also I forgot. A couple guys I know that street race kept their factory belts in for convenience while not racing. 4 point race only.
Is the Carbon dash just a carbon Trim you’ve put on it? Or is it a whole new dash if so where’d you get it from? Thanks

Thank you! 😃 It’s a retrim by Royal Steering Wheels then I’ve just wrapped the centre bits myself
Where did you get the spoiler?
Hey, it was on it when I bought it but Orranje do a very similar one

Be lucky to find a Mini that's reliable enough to drive daily, need to check oil from cold daily if that's the intention.

Don't need to be lucky. I've daily driven my 2006 R50 for 302000 miles in Northwest Ohio, with just regular oil changes, maintenance items, etc.
