I thought it was just a bigger human cannon, so I casually hopped in. As I departed the known world, still gaining altitude, I realized I might be in trouble. (Even with turbofuel, my jetpack only has 32,767 dV, not even half of my current velocity.) I watched my whole world recede into a pale blue line against the mist. As I began to lose consciousness, I noticed my hands weren't quite real anymore; pixelated and flat. Only then, at the end, did I see it: whole new continents, unexplored, undiscovered! So much more to see and learn! More than anything, I wanted to go back, undo what I had done, get a second chance. So I hit ESC and loaded the autosave.
This is like the uselessly over powered version of what I have. I have a cannon like this that's just powerful enough to get me just before the height limit, that I have angled practically straight up. I used to use it with a parachute to explore far from my base from above.
Nice! Yeah I actually made this originally for traversing across to our main storage, but then my friend figured out the hypertubes don't need much to launch us. I was halfway done, so I decided to finish it to see if it would go through the map instead. I wasn't expecting the whole map to be viewable like this though. Seeing the whole map like this made me think of when you could use a controller code in Forge in Halo 3, and then enable a coordinate grid and some more options, and then you could increase the speed of the world camera and use that highly increased speed to break the camera through the map boundaries and see the whole map.
OK so my question is: How did you not take damage once out of bounds? I have god mode active and still get chewed up lol. Is it specifically that direction that allows this, or something else? Asking for science. And for myself.
Hmmm, well if you get damaged in God Mode then that must mean our save is bugged from the Stable release updates. Probably because we have built some huge projects across the whole map and not in one specific area which we did to account for the high numbers of Phase 4 in 0.8 at the time (and limitations of available nodes). For example, the factory in this video is an Automated Wiring factory outputting 90 per minute, which required 187 Constructors for the alternative Iron Wire recipe and another 58 Constructors for Cable alone. We created the factory as apart of completing the original goal of 4,000 Assembly Director Systems for Phase 4 in the 0.8 version. We have a few factories of this scale across the map because we didn't know yet if the numbers required would drop or remain, and for the numbers in future phases after release. The Phase 4 numbers were purposely very high in 0.8 so that players would not complete the game before 1.0 release, according to the developers. So it may be possible that our save is bugged from the quantities we've built and that the map was not initially designed to handle those numbers. Otherwise, I have no other possible answer for now. I'm not a game developer. ^_^
@@Jyro784 lolllllll I think you might be right. Has to be a bug of some sort. Retested yesterday with GM off and then back on. I died both times getting sent to the other continent lol. Appreciate the "feature" you've got there for as long as you can. You....might be able to build out of bounds because of this lol. Possibly. Imagine the amount of SPACE that would give you though lol.
@@Sphendrana 😅Once we do revisit our save and continue to Phase 5 and finish that, I imagine we will continue playing a bit more to create some ridiculous things. That is what I want to do anyways. So we'll see!
Its just the effect it makes because of momentum; you put one entrance that is the "entering" entrance and another entrance for the exit and it does a sort of momentum loop on it's own. People just found that this works over time. If you are building hypertubes at steep angles you also should consider using a similar pattern or you will travel slowly. People usually call them "hypertube accelerators". This is 2-3-2-3 pattern. So you place an entrance inside another entrance - hold CTRL - back up 2 spaces from that entrance, place the new entrance, then back up another 3 spaces from the previous one and place another, and repeat that pattern. Otherwise you can't place the hypertube entrances and get the hypertubes connected.
You are wasting valuable time and resources building this cannon. We didn't send you to the planet to waist company assets on a project like this. Get back to work! Do you even have nuclear up and running?
FISCIT does not approve of pioneers leaving the map
There are no recoursces to be exploited outside of the map. It's not that they dont dont approve of it, they're just...advising you not to.

When you finally say "fuck it, I'll build project assembly myself"
They turned Satisfactory into Factorio by building a rocket to take them home
i like the floating point wobble on the pioneer's hands towards the end of the video lol

Inefficient using of Fixit property. Humanity count on you, pioneer!
I wonder what could become of all the unreachable map they made.

Mac rounds? In atmosphere?
hmm some nice range on that one but I think were going to need more entrances if you want to visit project assembly using this method.
