Years ago Me and my wife and kids visited cocoa beach and spent the day at the beach. I had a 6 pack of beer bottles and an officer confronted me. He said it wasn’t allowed but that We had everything contained and no garbage anywhere and I cooperated with him. He said to continue to enjoy my beer and have a nice day. These cops in this video are a continuation of the professionalism that was shown in my experience. Good job officers.
These type of people are incredibly dangerous. They have enough sense and awareness combined with massive delusion and ego. This is arguably one of the worst type of individual to encounter. Massive thanks to these officers!

The cop definitely could've been worse, don't get me wrong, but it clearly wasn't necessary in the moment and strikes me as the result of a power trip. That said, I am glad the cop chilled out and didn't actually force him on his knees or tase him for not getting on his knees - there are many videos where that goes the other way. Officers of the law should be held to a higher standard and their eagerness to utilize force instead of patience and de-escalation when interacting with, particularly but not limited to, unstable individuals is a major problem. I'm just glad this particular officer didn't let those inclinations get the best of him in this case, but that taser should've never left its holster.
The primary officer here was an EXCELLENT teacher/example for the guy about to go to the academy. Respectful, patient, looking out for his partner, and a good sense of humor.
I'm by no means an expert, but I think that kind of display of belligerence and goading is best regarded as an expression of fear by people in a situation in which they have almost no control, so they try to exert what they can by attempting to intimidate or irritate. It's like a dog terrified beyond soothing and barking incessantly in your back seat; it's not fun, but it's nothing to get upset over or put any meaning in (barring things like direct threats, which catch their own charges). You just let the behaviour run its course.
The cop seemed to be enjoying setting him off by deliberately touching him for no reason.. The guy clearly has medical issues and the cop clearly knows this and then cry’s like a baby saying he almost got assaulted.. The cops clearly worried about how he went about this whole issue..

Fair to good interpersonal skills, but the detainee was also pretty compliant. Just verbal mild resistance, but generally pretty cool and compliant. Just a run of the mill encounter between the police and a person with problems. Hopefully the guy will get some help, he was smart, well spoken and just in need of a system that gives him a helping hand.
