I'm by no means an expert, but I think that kind of display of belligerence and goading is best regarded as an expression of fear by people in a situation in which they have almost no control, so they try to exert what they can by attempting to intimidate or irritate. I used to work in mental health when I was younger and what you observe is really common. People rarely sound like raging lunatics, they sound like everyone else. This makes perfect sense since to them, what they’re saying isn’t any more than you telling someone what time it is. I’ve seen much weirder cases than this one with people explaing in a very clear and articulate way that they’re royalty in disguise who are living like drug addicts to hide from secret assassins sent by the pope to murder them and similar stories.
What do you mean by deescalating? He went there because he knew the suspect had stolen a cart and when the suspect refused to give up the cart or to provide ID he arrested him without any violence or anyone getting hurt, that’s pretty much an ideal outcome under the circumstances. As for lying, I’m not sure what you’re referring to. He brandished the taser when the suspect became uncooperative and took a hostile stance and when de determimed he wasn’t going to need it he holstered it. I don’t really see the lie.

This man reminds me of a grouchy chihuahua. Grrrrrr. I think I'm bigger and badder than I am.
😂 a crouchy Chihuahua
stealing or possessing a shopping cart is not a felony in FL, it's a misdemeanor in the first degree.
Love how the cop who's body cam is on, conducts this investigation like its an instructional video or training class! He's an "old" pro.
He's explaining everything clearly and calmly . Great exposure for the young man going to the academy. All the best to him for the future .
A legend in his own mind
A narcissist that denied reality straight into psychosis.
Man! Having powers and not abusing them, I love this cop!!
Very professional officer. Honestly though that lunatic sounded remarkably sane, despite his words being utter nonsense.
The cop didn't deescalate at all and lied to his colleagues and successfully made the ride along lie as well. You call that professional?
@@prunabluepepper
you people are just as troubled as the guy in this video 😂😂
How are they supposed to deesc when he isn’t letting them talk at all ?😂😂 He gave them no choice but to arrest him
I used to work in mental health when I was younger and what you observe is really common.
@@bewing77the lie was the assault charge. Dude didn't have a balled up fist or even stepped towards the officer. He was escalating the entire time, not understanding this is a mentally ill guy and that shopping cart is probably all he has. Yeah he stole it, but why take it from him, it's literally all he has. Publix isn't gonna miss it, and on top of that he clearly needs treatment, not a jail and a record for a fucking shopping cart
Just shows how unbelievably insane some of the people are who freely roam the streets.
And have access to guns
@theonefrancis696 ya I thought that too.. 😬
I meet them everyday ,then walk away when they try and string 2 words together
Takes balls to say you own a box store with your house in one of their carts
😂
He was very confident
how can they charge him with assault they guy didn't touch him
Because that's the police they are dirty as it gets
This guy also owns Amazon, Charles Schwab, & Tesla. He told me so
And the Earth
@@diggity1039And the Milky Way. I saw the receipt.
Blackrock? That’d be a neat trick.
and " spacex "
This cop never gets triggered, and yet never forget humor, and appreciation towards his colleagues. I want to be like him. We need more drivers like him on the street, or players like him on online game.
A cop, a Navy Seal, and the owner of Publix; you’d think he could afford a better beach cart.
Oh that's *just* his beach cart. As the esteemed owner of Publix he also owns a street cart that he uses for a daily driver and a mall cart for heavy loads. He sleeps in his luxury stretch cart.
He's leasing that cart from Publix.
He must have been getting stuff to decorate the room he stays in at the building he owns, Geez!!
Cocaine, it’s a hell of a drug.
Shneef , it's what's for dinner
I'm a retired LEO and if I had a dollar every time I was gonna lose my job or be sued I could have retired 15 years early.
😉😘😜
do you mean when people threatened you with it? because that isn't what you said. it sounds more like you were an awful cop who was terrible at his job and now brags about it.
but most likely youre just some incel poser who couldnt even handle being a security guard
Lol you mean retire right out of the academy lol
You don’t understand; you under arrest I own the English language and you owe me for every letter you’ve stolen from me
Ur a retired clown you mean?
That cop just sounds like a dad so compassionate 💯
I though he sounded like Huey Lewis.
The first minute of this video is the most condescending conversation between two human beings ever.
I sometimes think it's like that 80% of the time
"i am gonna touch you and you are gonna let me touch you"
that officer brought the romance to this call...lol
Hahahahaha…
50 Shades of Blue
Dammit, you got me 😂out loud
That officer was so calm that you just knew there would be nooooo point in trying anything. Respect.
the confirmation that the cop hasnt lost anything since the encounter was gold.
This guy owns Publix, he's a navy seal and a police officer, what an impressive resumé 🤣🤣
Jeremy Dewitt would be proud of him
He is Jesus too............
And he can trade psychically. Saves the cost of a broker.
And he owns most of Cocoa Beach
“I own everything, YOUR the problem….” 😂
