Milk Peda Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup milk powder
- 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/2 cup ground sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 teaspoon custard powder (optional)
- Chopped nuts (like pistachios or almonds) for garnish.
Instructions:
- Grease a plate or tray with a little ghee and set it aside. This will be used to cool the peda mixture later.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the milk powder, milk, ground sugar, cardamom powder, and custard powder (if using). Mix well to ensure there are no lumps.
- Heat a kadai or non-stick pan over medium heat and melt the ghee.
- Once the ghee is melted, add the prepared mixture to the pan.
- Stir the mixture consistently to avoid lumps and ensure even cooking.
- Continue to cook and stir until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan. This process should take about 4-7 minutes.
- Once thickened and not sticking to the pan, transfer the mixture to the greased plate or tray.
- Allow the mixture to cool down slightly until it is comfortable to handle.
- Take a small portion of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Gently press it to give it the shape of a peda.
- Repeat the process for the remaining mixture. If desired, you can use a cookie cutter to shape the pedas.
- Garnish each peda with chopped pistachios or almonds.
- Your delicious milk peda is ready to serve. Enjoy!
