Hi Kate! Very nice to more or less "chat" with you this way! I remember reading and delighting in two Shep books decades ago (In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash and Wanda Hickey's Night of Golden Memories), but it was so long ago that I don't remember all of the stories. But I do remember very well indeed the one about the Wimpy doll, and the one about the great gravy boat disaster at one of the local movie theater's many dish nights! Shep truly was a gift to humanity. What a wonderful thing that we still get to enjoy such a large number of his incomparable radio shows.

Growing up in NYC, my friends and I would go to many of Shep's shows at the Limelight in the Village (18 was the drinking age) . Shep gave me an insight on life that shaped the future me. I'm 77 now and thank him for opening my eyes to a lot of things. He was my Mark Twain or Will Rogers. Great story teller and a wonderful sense of humor.
