Never take your dreads out like this guys!! Lots of water and conditioner will reduce the amount of hair that comes out and please take your time. Never rush!! Patience is well needed through a process such as this one✨💕.

For anyone who doesn’t know. Basically dreadlocks are a kind of hair style where you twist/knot your hair into a rope like strand. And you can wash it, most people I know don’t. And the only way to get them out is to cut them off or do what he is doing. The way he is doing it can be painful for some people (because your constantly pulling on knotted hair) but the easiest way is to cut it out or shave it.
I'm kinda confused I thought locs was more then fashion, locs shouldn't be handled in that manner, I feel like if you can do that to your locs probably shouldn't have them to being with...to me locs are a very serious thing being your true self the way God bless our hair to be in its natural state.

About 23 years ago me and my mom combed out my pops locks. It took us a few days bc his hair was down his back. He didn't lose alot of hair, mainly bc we wet his hair constantly with a spray bottle. Then, covid hit and he wanted locks again. So my mom locked him back up. His locs are about as long as they were before we took them out. Kind of makes me aggravated that we took them out in the first place.
I have combed out my 8 years of dreadlocks and I find it easiest combing them out dry and using a crochet hook, needle or fork. That way you are able to gently separate the hair without damaging it too much ☺️
