Sameee! I quit Instagram too about a year ago. I was losing my touch with creativity trying to keep up with insta algorithm. I have been focusing just on RUclips for the past year. I had 3k subs when I left insta and now have close to 25k subs. Might still be a small number for many but it’s significant for me ❤
Same! I went from 15.4k to 15.5k followers on Instagram last year, and in the same time period I went from 1k to 6k subs on RUclips. Instagram used to be great! Now they have killed their golden house and to be honest, I’m here for the spectacle 😂 I am grateful, but also I’ve been so frustrated at invalid strikes, the thing not working etc… Can’t deny that it was great while it lasted. I appreciate all the lovely people I’ve met there ❤
I already have a successful but stressful career and don't need another job. I am doing RUclips simply because I find it very therapeutic to get in touch with my creativity. I truly believe that as long as we love creating and continue to upload, soon or later it will hit. Quantity will help level up your skills to improve your quality. Good luck!

I'm coming at this from the other perspective of "should I BE on instagram?" as a RUclipsr who's only just got monetised and seeing all other youtubers also on IG, I thought is this what I need to do to take youtube to the next level? But seeing this just validates to me what I WANT to do, which is focus entirely on youtube, which is the platform I love. Thanks for this vid!

Omg same!! I deleted my Instagram because I was never really into it. youtube always felt natural while instagram felt forced. RUclips is significantly more direct with how they handle firearms content. You need a good strategy to do well here, but it's possible.

I recently deleted Instagram because there was ZERO growth happening and was more time and energy than it was worth. It was actually more of a distraction. The only other social media I have is Facebook and that's because I use it for my business group.

I started RUclips a while back just posting Vlogs, but after watching Millie’s videos, I am really trying to do more research based videos. It was because of her videos that I found out what I really wanted to focus on, family travel videos, both Vlogs and research based content. I am really proud if what I am currently working on to grow on RUclips. My first “research-based content” videos is going up in a few more weeks and I am really happy.

A lot of these RUclipsrs are fake quitting for views. There are so many that posted they were "quitting" but continue to post. I think it's a manipulation of the average understanding of the word "quit".
I started months ago and subscribers and views are trickling in slowly, very slowly. I am going to stay consistent and keep going but it is tough. Stay resilient folks!
She will be changing that immediately as Instagram just changed their policies to share your posts to groups of people that might like your content first not just who is on your friends list. That will really change the reach of Instagram to be the same as RUclips.

Content type matters here video vs live is different. Theres a lot of "certain type" of RUclipsrs focused here. Would love to see you interview other types of RUclipsrs. 🙏
RUclipsrs quitting are realizing they weren’t really providing anything useful in the first place😂 being fraudulent to people who don’t know any better will lead to burnout. When you believe in what you’re doing you don’t quit you figure it out because it’s genuine. Instagram is dead because everyone has realized social media is a business, not for social connection. Millie is cool tho she kept it real as far as I could tell.
Crazy that quitting with 19 million subs. But less competition. I enjoy making RUclips videos for what it’s making of me. If the money comes then great. But RUclips is unique. Later in life I can look back at myself. Pretty cool 🥳🥳🥳
Retiring from youtube is one of those luxuries most content creators will never experience, being able to pat yourself on the back and sail off into the sunset on your private yacht, safe in the knowledge your fans clearly want you to return is honestly one of the better problems to have. Meanwhile the reality for creators such as myself, I treat my main channel like it's a Word document for all the views it gets these days.

As my RUclips channel grows, I’ve been pulling back from the other platforms. I don’t find them as fulfilling, and they’re not really helping anyway.

I hate Instagram. I got rid of it months ago, I don’t miss it at all. It feels toxic and I was wasting my time on it. I create content on TikTok and RUclips. I’m going to focus on RUclips now bc it pushes out my content, TikTok doesn’t at all. Also, RUclips feels fun and so much less pressure.
IG is awful these days, it's not even worth using, RUclips is a lot better as you can connect with your audience a lot better.
A lot of these RUclipsrs are fake quitting for views. There are so many that posted they were "quitting" but continue to post. I think it's a manipulation of the average understanding of the word "quit".

I started months ago and subscribers and views are trickling in slowly, very slowly. I am going to stay consistent and keep going but it is tough. Stay resilient folks!

She will be changing that immediately as Instagram just changed their policies to share your posts to groups of people that might like your content first not just who is on your friends list. That will really change the reach of Instagram to be the same as RUclips.

Content type matters here video vs live is different. Theres a lot of "certain type" of RUclipsrs focused here. Would love to see you interview other types of RUclipsrs. 🙏
Recently started my RUclips channel & seriously considering quitting Instagram.
RUclipsrs quitting are realizing they weren’t really providing anything useful in the first place😂 being fraudulent to people who don’t know any better will lead to burnout. When you believe in what you’re doing you don’t quit you figure it out because it’s genuine. Instagram is dead because everyone has realized social media is a business, not for social connection. Millie is cool tho she kept it real as far as I could tell.

Crazy that quitting with 19 million subs. But less competition. I enjoy making RUclips videos for what it’s making of me. If the money comes then great. But RUclips is unique. Later in life I can look back at myself. Pretty cool 🥳🥳🥳

Retiring from youtube is one of those luxuries most content creators will never experience, being able to pat yourself on the back and sail off into the sunset on your private yacht, safe in the knowledge your fans clearly want you to return is honestly one of the better problems to have. Meanwhile the reality for creators such as myself, I treat my main channel like it's a Word document for all the views it gets these days.
