Some of the songs that these lads wrote than never made it inot the album are much better than anything I've been able to create. Just shows how much practise makes perfect.
@guitarchannel 8976 They all sing on the majority of the Biffy stuff, especially their earlier stuff- take Breatheher as a good example. However, Ben and James have never taken a sole lead role in any officially release music.
Hearing this is great. The awkward first-demoey-ness (and photo) but with some hopeful ideas glimmering through. And look where they are now. Don't give up hope, kids.
The Go Slow isn't a demo from 1998.it's from a live session they did for BBC in about 2001/2002 i think. The reason i know this is cos it was me that captured this session. You can hear it during the intro that the audio clears up, that was the bit-rate on the stream increasing cos it'd buffered by then. Can't rem what else there was in this session. I captured every session they done at that time but have unfortunately lost them all over time.
Did you get all of these songs from Stow College? My Dad works there and he mastered some of these songs including Sky Blue Velvet, Being Gabriel and Justboy :))
He has a studio version of Sky Blue Velvet and also the album 'Thekidswhopoptodaywillrocktomorrow' (2000) which features Justboy, 57, Hope for an Angel and Less the Product
Flowing that the band has came this far and they've worked so hard on songs that weren't even released make you feel inspired to write your own songs
4:00 is heaven

To me, it sounds like the chorus of Cul-de-sac inspired some of the parts that you hear in Christopher's River
jesus they even had that sound back then

Pure Gold!! Thank you!!
I guess the "remastered" is there for the lulz. Pretty great anyway, thanks for the upload.
No problem :) It is actually a bit of a lie to be fair - I didn't remaster them as such, just did some EQing and stuff to make it sound better

Omg that's amazing!! Never even heard of sky blue velvet. Don't suppose he'd be willing to share? :)
Calum Wilmington would you be willing to post those songs your dad did? The studio version of sky blue velvet has been a dream of mine for some time.
Mon the fuckin' Biff!
Amazing little collection. I don't suppose you'd be willing to share the MP3's? :)
