The westernerns call it as "representative democracy" the "modern" (in fact neither that is modern, we had this system before the direct - the only - democracy). But, for how Greeks mean democracy modern democracy is not even representative (or it is very little). Representative or democracy in a nutchell simply means that demos (society) controls the politics, and political decisions, at least the most important one, and works for the benefit, the good of all society ("demos", anyway demos is a different meaning of today "society", first of all it has to do with the political subject of a - true - democratic society and much more) and not to be controlled by a monopoly of economy, international markets or of some of dubious quality oligarchs or some parties as today. It's a little democracy all that.
But anyway, this is a big discussion and perplexed. Greetings to the Great Hindu people. Many Greeks like Hinduism and Hindu Myths especially, and Indian people/culture because it remainds us something of our polytheistic past and ancient glory. Its something - let's say - like the "Greece" of the East in our eyes. Today there are many polytheists in Greece (influenced with this spirit in a cultural "poetic" form we mean more - always there were many of them - not that "they worship statues and wear white robes". Even if they exist many of that kind too - along with orthodox christians. Some of those they "fight" in philosophical and historical discussions because they want to return us Greeks to our ancient polytheism spirit and "cult" and the others the Orthodox dont like this idea much haha, even if they respect or love our past culture too in some way, but not to become again polytheists and pagans ).
